Stopped in with some friends who live in Barrington and ended up having way more fun than expected. Drinks are legit...strong pours and the nachos were gone in five minutes. We actually ordered a second plate because they were that good. The live piano adds a great vibe too. Service was on point all night. Our server was great, and the owner even stopped to make sure we were taken care of. You don't see that kind of attention very often. Nice place to come for a meet up with friends or a group. Great Happy Hour specials on drinks and appetizers with generous portions. The owner and staff are very cordial and accommodating and great prices. I look forward to returning on a weekend night for music and dancing. Inside is clean and spacious with a generous full bar. It was pretty quiet for a Tuesday night. It is a little dark inside, so it can be hard to read the menu. Parking nearby gets filled pretty quick but there is plenty of other parking around the corners and where Pinstripes used to be. read more

Stopped by Higgy's South Barrington on Higgins Rd after dinner for a nightcap, and it was a really enjoyable experience. The piano bar vibe was fantastic--live music adds such a nice touch and really elevates the atmosphere. It's clear this kind of spot was much needed in the area. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable. They also serve food, which we didn't try this time, but we'll definitely give it a shot next visit. We were only there for the piano bar portion, which runs until about 12:30am on weekends. After that, they switch to DJ music, which I imagine is a fun change of pace, though we didn't stay late enough to experience it. Stopped by over the Grand Opening weekend and was pleasantly surprised. Higgy's is spacious and inviting with plenty of seats around the bar and table/chairs near the piano. They serve both food and drinks. From their drinks menu, I ordered an old fashioned and enjoyed that it followed a standard recipe- with a boozy bourbon. It would have been nice to have drink prices listed on the menu but in the end, it was reasonably priced at $14. We noticed another table's order of nachos being served and the portion was generous! Servers stopped by multiple times to check in on us- which was appreciated and would definitely be needed if sticking around for an evening of music. We even had the owner, Richard, come by and introduce himself and the space to us. We missed the piano as that was expected to start at 7. I look forward to coming by another night to enjoy! What an amazing addition to The Arboretum in South Barrington! Higgy's newly opened and offers an elevated bar atmosphere with piano entertainment. The inside has a huge main bar to sit at as well as tables and chairs and a dart area off to the side. The piano stage is perfectly placed to enjoy from any spot you're sitting at. Their food menu offers appetizers, salads, wraps, sandwiches, burgers, and tacos. The pricing seemed very reasonable for the area. When I visited, I ordered the Higgy's Old Fashioned. The bartender offered changing the main spirit if I had a preference which was nice. The drink was well balanced and very smooth yet spirit forward. My husband also got the Lemoncello Drop Martini which delicious and not too tart. Each drink was $14. For opening weekend, staff was on top of it! Our group was checked on for additional drinks or food a couple of times. The owner, Richard, also stopped by to thank us for coming and to answer any questions we had. It's not often staff is prepared for day one crowds but this group was exceptional! Overall, I highly recommend stopping out at Higgy's to give them a try! If I had to describe this place in one word, I would use ENERGY. After having dinner on a Friday night, we came for a nightcap about 9:30 and this place was crazy busy. From the moment we walked in the door the room was bustling from the seats at the bar to large groups seated near the piano and more in the back of the room. The ages were completely diverse and I noted large groups of men and women, couples and groups of ladies or men only enjoying a night out. There are dartboards in the back, but nobody seemed to be over there at the time. This place is reminiscent of the old clubs downtown Chicago back in the 80s. Drinks were delicious with generous pours. We had the King Richard punch and it was phenomenal. The person playing the piano was not that great but the energy that he was supporting in the room was over the top. I noticed some of the reviews were saying they came around 5:30 and it was dead however, when we were leaving about 10:30/11 o'clock there were people continually walking in the door. Therefore, I don't really think this is an early night place. I think the vibe really kicks up later in the evening. It was also nice to have doormen opening the door for you when you walked in and out (whether they were doormen or bouncers I'm not sure, but it worked for me. read more

No ambiance . My friend and I got there at 5:30. It was dead except for a ladies birthday party going on in the back . These women were already drunk when we got there . We sat by the piano but there was no piano man . We received a waiter who told us he wasn't our waiter but will do what he could until our actual waiter arrived . Our drinks were bad . As soon as they arrived I could tell it would be no bueno . They weren't filled and tasted like straight alcohol. The waiter didn't care that we weren't drinking them and the burgers took over 1/2 hr to arrive . They weren't filled thin dry and tasteless . We won't be back . read more

Oof. The piano man couldn't quite maintain the tempo or the tune. Seemed to only know Elton John, Billy Joel, and the 6 songs played at every wedding reception. Volume of music was LOUD. Never heard him play my tipped request. He kept asking the cougars who were struggling to find a rhythm on the dance floor what they wanted him to play. I swear one of the women tried to keep the piano man on beat using his tambourine during Dancing Queen before she gave up. Drinks were from a limited menu and overly sweet. Server was delightful. We stopped at Higgy's for the first time. We walked in at 5:30 and the place was empty. Every table in the place had a reserve sign on it. The owner Richard was kind enough to open a spot up for us which was very nice. Piano started at 7 and by 6:15 the place was packed and every seat was filled. The music was great and very entertaining. Food and drinks were also great. The owner stoped by a couple time checking to see if we were having a good time. Our server was outstanding. What a great addition to the area. We will be back and make sure we make a reservation if we want a table. Otherwise there is an option to sit at the bar. I came here for a friend's birthday and had the best time. It was such a fun birthday spot and perfect for a night out. Everything is reasonably priced, which is a huge plus, and the energy all night was great. The best part is after the piano show, they bring in a DJ who plays all the best retro music from when I used to go out clubbing. This place charges $25 fee for live entertainment which is not said anywhere until you get your bill. The ownwer yells at his employees in front of customers. The drinks are way over priced and ghey have ne free water which should be a staple when drinking. The food was not good at all. When owner was confronted about $25 charge he walked away then came back and said some profanity words took are drinks and told us to leave but still charged us. read more
