I hate leaving this review, because I am sorry to say I have yet to try the "newer"speakeasy at the spa/ uno's. I have yet to understand if they are one and the same? Website does not make it clear! I want to preface, I had frequented the Spa restaurant in the 1970-1990's. The ambiance and history of the place made it so charming, along w the raccoon show! I am thrilled someone is keeping the speakeasy alive! So many wonderful memories!! With that said, I don't live " down the street" so to speak. We come out on Sunday's to hike the nearby trails or use the beaches. With the area now designated as a National Lakeshore, it would be to this establishments benefit to open from 11 am /12pm on Saturday & Sunday! If I knew they would be open, I'd love to stop in after spending time at the National Park! You're losing business to Wagner's! read more

If you're staying at the Spring House Inn, this is where you want to eat dinner or have an evening drink -- it's a no-brainer. I sat in the lounge/bar and admired the old vintage bar and appreciated the menu recommendations I got from the very nice server/bartender. Latest Update! The manager corrected our pizza and it was delicious and perfectly timed and cooked for takeout, next time we will come in to dine. We took one home as we were hosting a tween slumber party. So good and glad to have this pizza close to home, and tried it again . The only reason not 5 stars is I feel the crust can still be worked on. Kinda fell apart on the edges and crumbly could use a more salted buttery flavor that unos is known for but still very good! This was a pretty cool place. It's not really a speakeasy but the vibe was still awesome! I came here late one night while spending the weekend at the National Park nearby and didn't realize until I was sitting that they closed in 20 minutes. That didn't stop the bartender from chatting with me and letting me take my time choosing a drink. She gave me advice on what she recommended and it was great! They also didn't get mad when my group wanted to take photos while there! (It's in a neat old hotel). We stayed well past closing and had a great time chatting with everyone there! read more

If you like Chicago-style pizza or good mixed drinks at a fun and unique bar, this is the pace for you. There are plenty of different pizza options (including thin crust pizza), and loads of drink specials at the bar. Whether you're drinking at the Speakeasy bar or eating the restaurant side, it's just a genuinely nice place to spend an evening. I'll be back soon! read more

We enjoyed our visit. The sausage used in the deep dish was not the type of sausage I expected. It was similar to a patty at the bottom of the pizza. We will return, but will not order sausage on our pizza. read more

MUCH improved! The bartender was awesome! The food was really good. Nice variety. The music was great for our 80's at 8 group, but the dj, who was really there for karaoke, would have played anything I think. Sad that there were very few customers that Thursday night. They stay open till 10 which is SO nice now that everything else in town closes down at 9. They need to market the place better. Hope it makes it! read more

The food, service and entertainment are the best here at the speakeasy at the spa, Uno's, Sue and Nicky are the best, Sue is an awesome manager and Nicky a great server, you could not ask for a better night out. The service is beyond exceptional and the kind and attentiveness that Sue provides as a manger is more than one would ever expect. I tell all my friends to come here, and they do. I can't say enough good things about this place. Absolutely 5 stars for sure. read more

Uno pizzeria at the speakeasy has got to be by far the best pizza in Indiana or anywhere. It is authentic Chicago pizza and when we found out that there was an Uno pizzeria here we were elated. We have been back now twice and we look forward to going back even more. Great staff great food great experience. I think everyone should take the time and go to Uno pizzeria at the speakeasy in Chesterton. They are also having a Sunday brunch here for Mother's Day that we're going to. I'll let you know how that is but I'm sure it's going to be wonderful. read more

This review is for PIZZERIA UNO PORTER. We have come many times and I am just now realizing I haven't left an official YELP review. Friday nights is our favorite night because it's "Friday night pizza night" for our family. We try new places all around northwest IN and venture off to recommended places and follow our random guide I have made in maps. BUT, no matter where we try we always come back to Pizzeria Uno Porter. The family atmosphere (even tho two of our favorite mother daughter servers left, grandma is still our favorite host ) the atmosphere is everything to us. Always great service and the dining room is always clean. My kids love the tree in front and have had so many amazing times and laughs here you will always catch us playing Uno while we wait for our food. The food is ALWAYS PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!!! I've heard some people talking about a Speakeasy in Porter, Indiana so we took a drive to check it out. Tucked away on Mineral Springs Drive, we found it. We heard you needed a secret password to get in but the excitement was lost because the doors were open and we just walked right in. The atmosphere is very cool and the owner/bartender tried to keep the look and feel of a true Speakeasy. We were greeted by the bartender (owner?) and a very drunk patron who told us to sit anywhere. We chose the bar and proceeded to look at the drink menu. The bartender told us they don't have a lot of drinks available but she'll let us know if we pick one that they can't make. I chose The Big Red and my husband had a Moscow Mule. Both drinks were very good! If you're coming for food, this 'aint the place. There's a table with complimentary Hot Dogs with Chili and other toppings along with a veggie tray and bagged chips. I plopped my dog in a china bowl and topped it with chili and grabbed my plastic fork. Ok, so the presentation wasn't pretty but they were both tasty....and FREE! A gentleman came out and appeared to be an owner as well and proceeded to play some nice tunes on his guitar. I believe he takes requests, too. The other couple left so we chatted with the bartender for a bit. She's very friendly and has a passion for the bar business. We finished our drinks and paid our bill. $20 for 2 drinks seemed a bit steep for Porter, Indiana. They have some nostalgic displays you can get some pictures with. An old phone booth, a Bathtub Gin and an old barber chair. I think this would be a great place to host a roaring 20's party, bridal shower or other small social gathering but I don't think it's a place I would come regularly. read more

Why aren't you open? Came up to Springhouse just for the speakeasy-Yelp says it's open. No one to be seen. Very disappointing. Post the closing if that is the case. How sad-this place was a hidden, historical gem. read more

Came in with my man for our anniversary because of the reviews and were unfortunately underwhelmed.... Asked the host to sit in the "speakeasy" and was found out that's "just the bar"... the pizza was disappointing, we ordered something simple and it still came out wrong. The manager was absolutely fabulous in checking in where sadly I was honest about my experience. She was ever so kind enough to discount our bill as well as offer to remake our pizza! No live music tonight and the bar was pretty somber. read more

I've been here 3 times and have loved all my visits. The retro look makes for a great ambiance. They host live music on Friday and Saturday nights, serve small portions of sandwiches ( which are amazing) and make delicious Manhattans! read more

This place is sheer charm. Live music (soft, piano style) seating cozy and free food very good. Drinks are pricey but worth it because you are paying for the experience. Great first, second or whatever date because you can drink and hear each other talk. If you are in the area this should be one of your stops. read more

Great piano player provides requested music for singalongs. Limited menu at this time. Had great time Saturday visiting with friends and listening to piano. The bar is usually packed on weekends. They also have a motel located on site called spring house inn should you needed to spend the nite. read more
