I like looking for designs in the bar top. Giraffes are my favorite

I've been coming to lamplighters for over a decade and I think that speaks for itself. But I can tell you that everyone working here is fun and friendly and also wants to ensure the safety of everybody while we're having a good time! The Food is Almost addictive, especially the seasoning on the fries! Cannot pass up their Pizza and the cheeseburger wrap is awesome too! I do sometimes make meals off of just their appetizers! It can get loud but I mean that's kind of what you expect for a bar, especially during Sports Seasons but it's always fun and there are good times for it to be quiet as well. They do have a separate dining area for families and the outside wrap for families and the outside wraparound deck are also options during warmer weather! If you're looking for an event space they can accommodate parties and corporate events in the upstairs part of the building! They have a great selection as far as Alcohol and Other beverages. It's really just a great fun at Neighborhood Place and it's honestly one of my favorites! They have daily specials as far as food and drinks and even if you're not getting one of the specials, you're still going to get great food and drinks at a fantastic price! I would definitely recommend lamps if you're looking for a fun local place!!!

An alright spot if you're looking for a bar in Palatine to hangout with friends. There's a fairly good amount of parking nearby and there are all the standard bar food favorites such as burgers, fries, nacho's etc. Prices are alright for this area, with specials on some days of the week. There are a good number of events here, with a private area on the second floor that is good for a gathering.

Excited I finally tried it here. This is a true locals bar. It has that old school family tavern feeling, which I love. The beer prices are average. The service in the bar area all goes through the very friendly bartender. The corn nuggets are good with the elote dipping sauce. The burger is delicious and will be going back for that. I also want to come back and try the taco pizza and sitting outside on the deck.

Cool place to hang out by the Palatine train station. The food is delicious, and the staff is really friendly. Unfortunately, service was a bit slow when we went for dinner last night... it seemed like there was only one server for the entire restaurant--both inside and outside?? But we didn't have anywhere we needed to be, so we didn't mind too much. The veggie wrap is a bit spicy for my taste, but the Italian beef one was juicy and delicious. I love the seasoned curly fries that come with the wrap, too.

Once again, I could have sworn I reviewed this place. Good "ol Lamplighter. So good and so 'ol. So, it's definitely another OG bar, which I've had kind of a string of memorable experiences in. I shan't bore you with all of them. Let's just say I went here in flannel pajamas once and no one batted an eye. Now, I'm not sure what batting an eye would necessarily look like, so I'm not entirely sure that memory is useful. I actually rented a room here for a HS reunion. Cause you can do that here. That was a pretty fun night. Whew. It was also perhaps an exercise in survival. So, also, The bldg is old which is you know, awesome. Possibly really old. I do love the history of these old places. For some reason. I believe this was a super cool spot in the 70s. That was a few years ago, I do realize. Anyway. I think I opened this bar once at 6 am too. That was in the " roaring 80s ", if you must know, after closing another bar. I believe my compatriot and I enjoyed croissandwiches with our beer on that occasion. Anyway, this place always seems to have a pretty fun crowd, even on a Tuesday at 6 pm, when the accompanying photo to this review was taken. I like this place. I believe you will find it a fun diversion as well.

This is the upstairs patio that's a great place to have some drinks and just chill.

This place is a staple of Palatine. It's been around forever and I've made many memories visiting this place. Some have been listening to the live music upstairs, some have been sitting at their bar after work, and some have been enjoying the outdoor patio in the summer. This place has something for everyone - a place to eat, drink, enjoy music and chill out on a summer evening.

Solid Palatine bar. Friendly staff! I love their chicken fingers and curly fries. They also have a brand new golden tee and pool table

My wife and I went lunch at Lamplighter a couple times this past month. We forgot how good it is. And the wait staff are always so friendly.

Ask the Community - Lamplighter Inn

Can you bring back the sausage you used to use pre pandemic?

Not sure whether you are referring sandwich sausage or pizza sausage. But in both cases, we have not changed product. We are using the same distributor and ordering the same product number as we were pre-pandemic.

Review Highlights - Lamplighter Inn

Upstairs is awesome since they have live music and a pretty large patio if you want to hang out and look over downtown Palatine.

This was a spur-of-the-moment choice but ended up being very fun for drinks and dinner!…read more I LOVE tiki bars and my husband noticed this one in the area near where we happened to be on Google maps, so off we went! We had about a 15 minute wait for a table but it gave us time to peruse the menu in the car. They offer many classic tiki cocktails, a page full of seasonal drinks, a page of "Designated Driver" mocktails (nice to have an option for something other than just a Shirley Temple!), Polynesian appetizers and entrees, and then Lola's Pizza. For drinks, I got the seasonal Gingerbread Painkiller and my husband got a Green Flash mocktail. (Pro tip on the seasonal drinks: check the regular cocktail menu to see how many skull and crossbones are listed under the regular version of your drink, if applicable, to see if it's a super strong one!) Mine was creamy and spicy but quite powerful. Props to our waitress, Makayla, who checked if anyone at the table was epileptic, because normally the "flash" part of my husband's drink is a strobing LED ice cube; I actually am photosensitive, so it came in the drink in non-strobe mode and just glowed an alien green. She said this was the first time it had actually paid off to ask, but I'm glad she did! The food was tasty: I ordered rumaki, an old-school appetizer of bacon-wrapped water chestnuts that you don't see very often these days, and he got loaded fries. We also got a small Lola's Pizza, which was very good, with a crisp but also chewy crust. The atmosphere here is pure tiki, with a fountain, swag lamps, bamboo, and Hawaiian-influenced Christmas music playing for the season. Lots of big groups here; everyone seemed to be having as good a time as we were! What a laid-back gem in Arlington Heights! We'll be back. Mahalo!

Discovered this place 10 mins from me! The decor is a little too much in my opinion but great…read moredrinks and vibes. Parking is a little tight too but I parked across the street at Mugs pizza and walked over. The service and staff were great! Big menu as well, next time will try the food. The restrooms are a little small too.
