Wow, we did not expect it to be so hot! But hot or not Bonnie and Gene were master hosts. We learned so much - who knew there were so many varieties of lavender - even culinary lavender! And the gifts Bonnie makes with the lavender - I wanted one of each. I did manage to snag several scoops of lavender to bring home that wonderful smell. I also picked up a large hardanger sachet that is beautiful (hand stitched) and filled with - you guessed it - lavender! While Gene was relating stories of his tree farm days, Bonnie went into the house and brought out lavender lemonade as well as the most delicious lavender shortbread cookies I've ever tasted! YUM!
