I tried to give this location another opportunity since I had to leave the previous provider because they were moving. I called to ask about first time patients, and the individual who answered was not the warmest. Said they are not taking patients. I asked why, and she was dismissive. I asked if there was a waiting list, and again was dismissive and said not adding people to the waiting list either. It was a rushed phone call. I understand when there are no openings, and I cannot proceed as a patient. However, best practice is continue to show customer service even to prospective clients instead of brushing them off. Suggestion is to revisit CSR training. Sometimes it can be not what you said but how it's said. read more

I cannot express how happy I am with this office and it's employees. My non-vocal 3 year old daughter started coming here within a few weeks she started speaking more and now after 3 months here she speaks so well and I'm so proud of her but that never would've happened without the women that work there. They are so friendly you can tell right away that they love kids and love working there. That can be said for every employee at this office. It's very clean and a very friendly environment. I would recommend High Desert Speech and Language Center to anyone! I don't mind the No Show fee because it is a busy business and there's a waiting list of people waiting to come here. My insurance is a ppo and due to there being no speech therapist in our area that is in network they referred me to this place... after speaking with my insurance they said that we have a gap insurance so they can treat this facility as an in network well because it's extra work for these people they are refusing to see our son. The office manager is rude and talks down She said she does not trust our insurance to pay them which is why they can't help us out. They are lazy and all they care about is a paycheck not about actually helping children or any patient. I do not recommend this place just because of how rude and careless they are. There is no going out of there way to help. read more

My son has been going to high desert speech for 2 years and I just want to say with time and commitment he has definitely came along way. Loretta and Angie have been amazing help along this journey. If I could give a zero I would. My son attended therapy here for 2 years when they gave up on him. They stated he needed a break to mature. He has Down syndrome and in my opinion they totally gave up on him. I explained he would only regress. When I sat with the Dr regarding the "break" she explained it wasn't personal that she loved her downs kids, and this Is what He needed. You should never tell a parent what their child needs, in my opinion she made more than a recommendation she made the choice for us, and we didn't agree. As a Dr she should know he is a child with Down Syndrome not a downs child. Needles to say when I reached back out after 6 months as i thought it was our only option for speech services they wouldn't even return my phone call, I called 3 times being told the Dr would call me back and I never received a return phone call. Their was also some billing issues between Kaiser and the IRC and they were not helpful in that process either. Interesting the recommendation for a break while they were waiting on payment and not from me personally. I do not recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for long term care for a special needs child. Do your research a drive down the hill was worth it for my child to find a facility that truly cares and won't give up on your child! Mind you this was before covid and I waited to write a review so I knew it wasn't out of spite! read more

I see good reviews, but I know they are not all the reviews. My grandson has been coming since March. He was sent there by Kaiser. After seeing him on a weekly basis for 6 weeks, my daughter was told he is autistic and has ADD. He doesn't even see the same person. Needless to say, I am very disappointed. She was told they would continue to give him sessions but are they trying to give another reason for his lack of progress without any testing or documentation? read more

My child has been coming here for a few months now and it's helped so much! The only thing is the lobby is always dirty. Doesn't look like they sweep,mop, or dust very often or at all. I also saw a dead roach. They have a sign that says no food or drinks but I mean there's tons of young children that need snacks. I would give 5 stars if it was clean. read more

If I could give it no stars I would. My child has been going to this center for a little over a month, and has not learned much. They have learned more with the free videos on YouTube, look up The Speech Scoop. Now, we are being billed when we were never informed there would be a copay. They have horrible communication and many of the staff is rude. They genuinely do not care. Your child does not get to work with a speech therapist, they get an aide. They will charge you a $20 fee if you do not cancel with in 24 hours notice but they can call and cancel/change your appointment with in an hour. Very UNPROFESSIONAL! I hope this helps. read more

I have had my son coming here consistently for the last three months and let me tell you he has improved tremendously! He loves it there and never wants to leave. He loves his teachers and goes running to them when he sees them! Miss Amanda has been so kind to me and my son she's always taking the time to answer my millions of questions. She's so patient and I truly appreciate her. The other therapists always say hi to my son by name when they see him even though they may not be working with him that day. You can tell they love what they do and care about all these kids! The receptionist are always nice as well! A very pleasant place to be and Im very grateful for this staff. They work hard and let me tell you it doesn't go unnoticed. read more

I would like to start by thanking Dr. Elle for listening to my concerns about my daughter's speech delay as pediatrician said I should wait and she should grow out of it...I knew I should seek help. So did my research and found that HDSLC provided a more global approach to therapy. Not only did I see a speech delay, there were also sensory issues. Both of those issues were addressed in therapy SIMULTANEOUSLY!! That was amazing to have trained clinicians that go above and beyond to make sure the child makes progress in all areas that affect their language. Onto the amazing ladies of admin, yes they are busy but they were always kind and patient. I was also kind and patient with them. It was worth the wait, get on the cancellation list if they have one still and be flexible with your schedule. I would recommend this place 100% to anyone that wants real results! My daughter has been there since she was 4. Session is 30 min each and you usually can get services once or twice a week. Customer representatives are very friendly and professional. They always call me if I need to reschedule the session. And the most important thing! Speech therapists are awesome. They have knowledge about autism or any related disorders, so very patience to kids. My daughter used to be non-verbal but she started talking little by little now. She enjoys speech therapy there and it's free services if you have IEHP direct! Highly recommended! read more

Dr. Lakieta Emanuel is amazing!! She has so much love for her patients and does everything she can for them. The staff is awesome also love this place! Would definitely recommend to anyone. The ladies that work there are great! I'm beyond satisfied with the speech and language services they provide to my child. The staff and SLPs are supportive and caring. Seeing as how they are the only speech center in the HD, they run into difficulties with scheduling; however, this is what happens when you're the only facility up here providing speech services. My son has been coming here for a little over a year and what a transformation I have seen in him! At first he had a hard time expressing himself and showed a lot of aggression, but with these therapists and other services available my son has improved A LOT! He still has more catching up to do, but I can't help but celebrate every milestone we are hitting! I love this place its close to my house (compared to going down the hill, yikes!) the staff is always really nice and helpful. It is also kid friendly if you have other children you can bring them while you wait for the session to be over either 25-50 mins. They always have kid friendly movies playing in the waiting room and the AC on! I can tell just by being here twice a week that every therapist really cares about the kids they are helping you can definetly feel and see the love! read more

I used to be pleased with their services, but they started charging people $20 if you didn't give a 24 hr cancelation notice. I have been charged twice, so I took matters into my own hands and called the insurance provider and explained the situation. Turns out they weren't allowed to charge me!! I LOVE THIS PLACE!! My daughter has been a patient here for about 6 months and she has made amazing progress!! Dr. Elle evaluated us and she was wonderful and was very understanding. The therapist were all so great! They are so patient, friendly and really take pride in what they do. I have paid a missed appointment fee here but it was completely understandable. All sessions are one on one so if you do not show up, yeah they are gonna charge you!! They have bills like the rest of us and if you aren't there, they do not get paid. All these people complaining about fees, stop being irresponsible and show up to your appointment! They are completely understanding when my child was sick and didn't charge a fee (even though I called last minute :/ ) AND I have been to other offices that charge fees for everything and charge double for missed appointments!! These people also threatened to charge me a $20 co payment fee because my son was sick and a 24 hour notice wasn't given. We've always paid all of our co payments up front with no problems at all. This was only his second absence within months of service as well. They care more about getting paid than treating children. I'm about ready to take my son somewhere else. I pay too much money for medical insurance and co payments to be treated this way. read more
