My step daughters mom use to live here in this facility and every time we came to visit she was always soaking wet, clothes had food on them, and seemed to not be showered for days on end. She had a really bad bed sore On her butt that has never been there before... until she arrived at this place. We would hear the employees talk down on other employees non stop, even heard the nurses talking about utis in the facility and the employees just always seemed not happy to be there, but would fake a smile every time family members like us would come around. If your looking for an assisted living home this is not the one. They don't even have hoyers like their legally supposed to. read more

When the sad realization hit that Gram needed full-time care, I did the only thing I knew to do...Google Search. The options were overwhelming...I made call after call to facilities that spanned from Redlands to Victorville and every place in between. It was mind-numbing and overwhelming and frankly, some of the reviews were downright scary. Then, I landed on Sterling Commons. (First off, it was refreshing that somebody was staffed to answer the phone after the amount of messages I had to leave at some of the other places.) Right out of the gate, everybody was AMAZING, KNOWLEDGEABLE and HELPFUL! I had NO idea what needed to be done and I was guided the whole way. They even helped me get through the paperwork to get Gram VA survivors benefits to help pay for her care. Debra and her staff are absolutely dedicated to making sure that the residents are well taken care of. We have popped-in many times to visit and Gram is always clean, up and alert, either watching a cool old movie in the movie room or sitting with other residents socializing. There are caretakers everywhere. Nobody is isolated here and there is a lot of stimulation / activities. The extra care in securing the residents is bar none! NOBODY is getting in or out of the residents area without a staff member physically letting them in or out. This was especially important to us. The interior as well as the exterior are CLEAN, nicely decorated and has nostalgic touches; Gram couldn't help but to feel at home. I was so impressed with the different levels of care. Gram has Dementia / Alzheimers and she needs assistance with every aspect of daily life and she is getting that. She is so HAPPY and she's smiling again. It makes me cry (happy tears) that we don't have to worry about her well-being anymore. We can just sit and visit with her and know that when we have to leave, she will still be happy and safe. read more

My mother, attends Sterling Commons for Daycare and Respite and I just love this facility. I have checked out a few living assistance places for my mother and I just never felt comfortable leaving her at any of those facilities. Sterling Commons is a place of love, caring, nurturing and fun. When I leave my mother, I know that she is in great hands there. The receptionist, Brianna, is very charismatic and her smile lights up a room. The Director of Community Relations, Debra Newlin, is amazing. She is more like family. I can call to discuss the changes in my mother's condition and she will make sure that the faculty is aware of those changes. She email pictures to me of events my mother participates in at the facility. Debra is a loving, kind hearted and caring. I definitely would recommend this facility for your Loved ones. My goal was to find a facility I was confident in leaving my mother and not have to worry about her safety and well-being. My wife has been in the Sterling Commons for just over a year. One of the hardest decisions I have ever made was to make this her home. She has, however, been very comfortable there and has received outstanding care. Like all places where you might leave the one you care most about, there have been, from time to time, issues regarding her care. The Director and staff have been very responsive to my concerns and have made moves to correct circumstances that did arise. I receive calls about her good days as well as other issues as they arise. Staffing levels were one of my major concerns and the administration is making moves to increase staff available for interaction with residents. I am a retired social worker with experience in working with the aging. I find the Sterling Commons a warm and supportive place with staff who care. read more

My father has been living at Sterling Commons since May 2015. It's a wonderful place! It's very clean and homey, comfortable and welcoming. But the very best of Sterling Commons is the staff. Everyone there is caring, efficient, and professional at every level. Even the housekeeping staff know the residents and interact with them. I've seen staff members stopping in their path just to talk to or hug one of the residents. Also, they have such patience with all of the residents, which I know can be difficult with someone who has memory issues, and in my father's case, hearing issues as well. They are available at any time for phone calls, and are prompt and thorough in their responses. There's a nurse on duty 24 hours, which is very reassuring. My family and I have had such peace of mind since my dad went to live there. We know that Dad is being taken care of in the best possible way, and that Sterling Commons is the best place for him. read more

My father has been residing at Sterling Commons for the past few months. Initially everything was difficult for the family, trying to figure out where to place 'Dad'. We considered the cost, location, and most importantly - care. Staff members are remarkable in their service, KIND service to residents. I visit almost daily. Its clean, organized and always active with a variety of activities though-out the day. Its not cheap...but then it can't be considering the level of care and the surroundings.
