We highly recommend Living Waters Recreation for your rafting adventure! Tom bent over backwards to help accommodate our team!!! Thank you!!

We just took our 18U Allstar Softball Team (National Champs) on a white water rafting adventure last week. Tom bent over backwards to accommodate our team schedule and make sure the girls had a blast on the Klamath River!!! We highly recommend him and his company!! Thanks Tom and the other guides that made the adventure so fun!!!

After the Day 2 on the Upper Klamath. Thanks Tom and Brian!

Hands down, best guide/cook/skillful/experienced dude around. Don't even think about going with another company, Tom and his crew exceeded expectations by 1000 times. Two buddies and myself googled rafting in Northern California, we came across Living Waters Recreation. We flew out to Cali with Zero experience and were looking for adventure, we were unsure what to expect in every aspect of the trip. We met Tom in Mount Shasta and headed up to the UK. All I can say wow, Tom is a professional rafter, funny dude, amazing cook, and super helpful. I watched videos of other rafters/guides...Tom makes the others look like amateurs...and you eat better than you ever have. Highly highly 1000% no brainer to call Tom at living waters recreation and book your trip. Safe, fun, experienced...don't thank me for this recommendation...tell your friends after you experience it.

Had a great time on the river the weekend before the 4th. Tom was a terrific guide- with a mix of historical trivia, wildlife knowledge and a couple of good jokes thrown in! He prepared us well for the hazards of the river. And the gourmet deli lunch was the best. The Upper Klamath is a beautiful stretch and although it got hairy a few times, Tom's expert guidance kept the 6 of us from wrapping, flipping or dumping. Thanks Tom!

I've crossed paths with many guide companies in my years behind the oars and it isn't always a pleasant experience. From the put in where the guides helped me move my 15' raft and gave me verbal beta on the notorious Dragons Tooth rapid to the actual rapid itself they were polite and helpful. We didn't see them for 2 days on the river until the scout for Dragons Tooth. Being just a single boat with two people I graciously accepted Aaron's offer to keep an eye on us through the scary rapid. Imagine my surprise as we emerged from the chaotic maelstrom to 6 guides working safety and 45 cheering clients. It was truly a surreal river experience. A big part of a great guide service is how they treat their customers and other boaters. If you want to be on the river with a self important grump, there are plenty of them out there. If your desire is to run a classic river with a truly nice, excited, and competent group of guides River Dancers is your outfit.

Once parked at the lake, you can embark on the moderate trail to Heart Lake. Approaching the lake, the trail is to the left of it and climbs along the lake shore with intermittent views. As you take a gradual but steady climb up, you will start to see views open up and eventually see Mt Shasta itself. Most hikers stop at Heart Lake which is a scenic spot with granite on one side and on the outlet side of the lake for Shasta views. If you're wanting a little bit of a longer hike, when facing the lake, make a right and log hop across its outlet and follow a faint but obvious trail to a rocky outcropping. There you will reach an amazing vista of Castle Lake and Mt Shasta. It's a great spot to have your lunch and take some amazing photos. Take care on the way down as there are some steep drop offs and slippery rocks. Most of the trail is exposed, so I'd go earlier in the day in the warm months. Depending on how far you go, it's 3-4 miles out and back. Wonderful way to have amazing mountain scenery in a short hike. Free parking at the lake and pit toilets (not the best, not the worst I've seen.)

I booked a "beginners" class. If a person could know "less than nothing" about the sport, this is me. "Dan", the instructor provided the equipment needed. Boat, paddle and life vest all provided. He had folks cancel, and so there was just me. Yet, instead of calling and canceling the class, he drove all this way just so I could have my class. Who does this? Getting past the how grateful I was, onto the review. I was a bit leary at my age and weight, if I would survive an hour. (class was scheduled for 7 hrs). I was just going to go as long as I could. This man has been doing this for decades and his mannerism and making sure to go over safety things, and how to get out of the boat should I roll over was a comfort. Parents... trust this teacher with your children. I'm 6' and 215 lbs. So, if someone was going to "wobble", and fall over, it would be me! When we went into the water, Dan had "the patience of Job". Then... I "got it". I was actually out there making the boat move and with a little more time, making it move where I wanted it to! This was the most fun I've had in 2 decades! When the parts of my body that haven't moved like that got a bit sore, no problem to rest, or go to shore for a break. Dan is a professional no doubt. I cannot recommend more highly if you've ever wanted to learn, then go to the website. He offers "white water, and sea" classes as well for the more adventurous. If your like me, and just want to "paddle around local waters", he's will teach you how to SAFELY do so. I'll be doing this alone, so that was huge for me. Hope your found this helpful. :)

I highly recommend Dan to anybody who is just getting into water sports, or is wanting to advance to the next level.

Also, they give you exactly what is needed to paddle in Trinidad so you remain warm & comfy. I was so impressed with our guides, Nick and Alex, and their local knowledge of seabirds, marine mammals, and intertidal species. Whales are cool, but there are also a lot of other really cool animals & birds in Trinidad Bay. And these guides know just where to take you. They were not afraid to take us into a little rougher waters, when we asked them to, likely because they are so skilled and experienced. I also really appreciated all of the paddling guidance they provided making sure I was using my core/legs more than my arms. I was with a very large group and the guides handled everything with such class and professionalism. It is a step above any outfitter I've ever paddled with. We are really lucky to have them in Trinidad to help us access some of the most fantastic coastline along the California coast. They also do a great job interpreting the California Coastal National Monument! All of those rocks and islands are part of a statewide national monument that runs from the Oregon border south to Mexico! Wow! What a treasure. 100% TRUE TO THEIR WORD In an era where reliance on the…read moreinternet to research a regularity nowadays, I know how some can be skeptical of what they see vs what is actually delivered. In this case, EVERYTHING promoted and promised on the website is what you get! Doug, Heidi, their family and entire staff do an amazing job to make you feel welcome and part of the Marble Mountain Ranch family. From the moment we arrived at the Ranch, we were met by Doug, who hopped on his ATV and led us to our cabin, gave us a tour and informed us about dinner that first night. I'll break the rest of this review up into parts to help you get an idea of how much fun MMR is as well as how everything they promise is delivered upon...all while trying not to spoil the surprise of how amazing being there is. BOOKING: It is a working ranch and know that it is normal to get their answering machine when you call. Leave a message if you don't get Doug or Heidi on the phone with your number and know they'll definitely call you back. Heidi is amazing and will answer any and all questions you have. Do make sure you have a "Plan B & C" as dates/weeks fill up rather quickly. Be sure to have your whole party size ready as well as Heidi does a great job making sure your whole party has adequate and appropriately comfortable accommodations for your party. ACCOMMODATIONS/LODGING: The cabins are beautiful and plenty spacious for all your party's needs. Every cabin is equipped with a window A/C unit that keeps everything plenty cool on hot days and a floor heater for those trips where the weather turns cooler. They are stocked it's pots, pans, dish and silverware, a full refrigerator/freezer and microwave. Bedrooms are perfect size for every guest as well. FOOD: Fresh cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinners are prepared by Heidi and her staff and provide you delicious meals that sufficiently fill you for the day ahead or to fill a hungry belly after a full day of activities. There's a variety of options for everyone - and at dinner time, there are wine and beer options as well. ACTIVITIES: You WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! Everyone, at every skill level will have an opportunity to experience everything. From your time in the arena learning how to guide, ride and get comfortable on a horse, to being on the trails taking in the forest and amazing views, to your time on the River going through the rapids, you are never disappointed. Doug and Heidi employ some of the most knowledgeable, kind, and engaging staff our group has ever met at a vacation getaway. Heidi makes sure you provide them, when booking, your skill levels to ensure everyone has a safe and amazing time. CONCLUSION: In the technological age where we're perennially connected to all things electronics, this was an amazing opportunity to unplug, get away from the hustle and bustle of busy life and enjoy nature in all its glory. We had two teenage girls in our party and they didn't miss being unable to scroll social media, or the internet all day long. By the end of each day you were physically spent and happy to have downtime with family and other ranch guests. Each night there were activities and opportunities to engage with and get to know Doug & Heidi, their family and staff. Our family came in with no expectations other than the excitement of a new and different opportunity at a getaway vacation. We were blown away at how amazing the experience was and we're already planning a return visit in the coming years. From our family to Doug, Heidi, their family and staff we say THANK YOU for an AMAZING experience that we will not soon forget! I hope this review helps continue to bring you great business and prosperity in the future...and we look forward to seeing you all again soon!

It was a stretch for us financially but absolutely some of the best money we have ever spent
