The movers removed the feet and bottom wooden piece, without asking, then walked away without putting it back together. Colin came, took the feet and wood, rebuilt the broken feet, removed wood glue from many years past and rebuilt the cabinet. Once the feet were cleaned up and reattached the bottom wood piece, he came back and reattached everything to the china cabinet. It is now more solid than it had been in over fifty years. This piece has been in our family for three generations and I am so thrilled to have it back in its full beauty again. I can't recommend Baker Floor Refinishing. I have an approx 19'X16' pine floor that needed…read morerefinishing. 1. Mr. Baker quoted me $900 over the phone. We were both busy for a few weeks so we set a date about a month out. When he called to verify the time, he said it would be $2000, MORE THAN DOUBLE initial quote! We went back and forth a bit about the size of the job and he agreed to the $900. 2. Two of Mr. Baker's employees performed the job-sand, stain and three coats of poly. The original stain was quite dark and we went with a lighter shade. We had the room walled off with plastic so the cat couldn't go in. Once it was finished, I noticed that they did not get all of the original dark stain off. There were many places that only received a light sanding. The places where the wood was cupped up were the only ones with a good sanding. 3. A light sanding is performed after the first and second coats of poly. They did a poor job of vacuuming up the wax dust. Most of the nail holes and grooves between the planks have white dust in them which was covered with poly. 4. This is not necessarily a negative but Mr. Baker never actually came out to see/inspect the job or follow-up.
