We just can't say enough about Enfield Carpet Center. They are just such a pleasure to deal with. Everything went smoothly from the beginning to the end. We generally dealt with Phil, who we highly recommend, but did meet some of the other family members, all who were just as helpful. The installers were awesome! A husband and wife team who would just not stop! They went above and beyond! They left our house at 8:30 PM after being here on the job at 8 AM! They, as well a Phil, made sure that the timeframe of work would be OK with our schedule. When they left this house, they made sure everything was perfect and it was! I've worked with Enfield Carpet a couple of times now and I've been happy each time. Frank and Barb are very nice and great to deal with, and the installers have been excellent each time. DISAPPOINTED - wanted a white floor for entry way that would go with our beautiful entry room they just finished carpeting - I had just purchased and paid $2,500 for carpeting for 2 rooms from Enfield Carpet using the existing padding they used in a previous order a few years back. Barbara brought samples for the small entry room floor (4 x 7 area) and saw the room with FLORAL CUSHIONS on white rod iron furniture with a white fireplace. - I told her a white floor. Sample did not show dark marble throughout and she never mentioned it. There is no dark marble in the sample. Floor installed - Looks like a circus. Paid over $1,300 for the job. I have paid them over $10,000 for flooring and carpeting in the past and no customer service when this problem occurred. Again, Disappointed -now I will have to go elsewhere and get the flooring replaced for more money. This floor is not acceptable. read more

They donated flooring to Rebuilding Hartford to help an older couple who had holes in their current floor. They didn't have to but they are professionals and even better, really really good humans. Not a good experience. My carpet to laminet transition piece kept popping up. It was awkwardly in the middle of the room. The said the pieces only came in 8 ft. The installer came back three or four times. I escalated to the owners. I even had another flooring store tell me where to get a longer transition piece. But the owner (wife) said she never heard of it. She said she'd research it and get back to me. That was 7 months ago. And carpet is already looking worn. I have since had another company in as I'm doing the second floor. They showed me a 12 ft transition piece that they will install. I may rip up the carpet though as it's garbage. Looks terrible. The experience wouldn't have been that bad if owners had customer service skills. One time when I called, the wife saId "how many times do we have to go back there". Ummm. Until it's fixed. Seven months, still not fixed. read more

It's not my style to leave poor reviews but I hope to help another homeowner out. We had tiles in our foyer replaced with wood and our floors refinished in April. When the tiles in the foyer were removed, the floor installers noticed the subfloor had water stains. A contractor was immediately called in to asses/fix the issue and confirmed that the stains were old, there was no damage to our subfloor, fix any rot, and there was no active issue. Not ideal but we paid to have the issue corrected and got the green light to move forward with install. Upon completion I was pretty happy with the install. Not a perfect 10 but thrilled to have it done before we moved into our house. Fast forward a few months, I noticed the floors in our foyer are scalloping few months ago. I called the floor installer to ask what it could be. When he showed up at my house he had every excuse as to why it happened: "Makes you wonder what they were covering up" (referring to the tiles that were original to the home) "When this happens it's almost always an environmental issue." "It's like if I sold you a used car and you crashed it" (telling us it's our issue) He did a moisture reading test and "determined" that the higher than expected moisture reading levels under our dining room are warping the floors in the foyer. But here's the issue. It's ONLY the new floors that are impacted. The "higher moisture reading" is under the dining room and those floors are untouched. The moisture strategically scalloped ONLY the new floors, from the front of the staircase, wrapping around behind the staircase without scalloping any of the old floors-- ONLY the new floors. He didn't bring in a crew to check the work. He did a moisture reading in our basement then told us to file an insurance claim to look at our door and pay him to fix the floors. I asked for him to have his contractor come back out and look at "this moisture" and quote us if there was an issue. He shot everything down. Told me his contractor was too busy 1.5years out. We paid almost 17k for this work. And his solution? He told me to file an insurance claim and rehire him to fix the floors because he works with insurance companies all the time. Oh and by the way, he'd have to refinish the entire first floor so it matches "perfectly". Even though it doesn't match perfectly today. I wasn't going to post this as they were a professional recommendation but when I followed up to confirm if there was a resolution, I was ignored. It's distasteful. We were very easy to work with. Paid any extra fixing costs and didn't make it hard for him to get his money. I thought maybe I can help another homeowner not lose $17k. read more

The carpet installer just left my house after working very hard from 7:30am til 5:15pm! His coworker was out sick so he had to do the job by himself under very hot conditions I think it got up to 91 degrees. The carpeting in my upstairs.bedrooms closets hall and down the stairs and lower level hall looks phenomenal ! Great job and the family that owns the company couldn't be nicer! Great job! read more
