I explained what the technician had told me, which wasn't what he told her, and asked to get a reach out from the owner who completely blew me off. I tried to give the local guy a chance over a big business but it didn't work out very well. The owner could have made all of this better with one phone call but he chose not to. Since moving to Boise area in 2014 and in the "before days" of covid19 business interruptions we had our SUV detailed annually at a local dealer where they did a great job. But in 2020 that came to a halt and we also put a lot of 'dirt and grime' outside and in miles on the car with frequent trips back and forth to Central Oregon to care for an ill family member between late 2019 and mid 2021. So starting with a vehicle that had not been detailed in over two years, Jordan did a fantastic job and it was so convenient to have this done right in our garage. It was supposed to include a carpet clean so I asked him to give the front carpets a little TLC and that he didn't have to steam clean the floor carpets in the backseat. He was supposed to be there several hours so I was going to leave work in time to meet him there to check out the job and pay him but he called me an hour and a half into the job and said he was done. He said my carpets look great and he wanted to get paid. I took it in good faith that he had cleaned my car like we had talked about so my husband paid him $300 cash. When I got home and checked out the cleaning job, I was mortified. He didn't clean the interior of my car at all. He forgot to vacuum a lot of it, and didn't put any cleaner on my carpets, he just steam cleaned them. I paid for a full service and what I got was a front floor carpet clean for $300. I got a hold of the owner told him I was disappointed and that I wanted either him to come back and finish cleaning it or give me back half my money. He said he would call me on Friday and I never heard back from him. I texted him again yesterday and asked him to come back and finish cleaning my car and I still have not heard back from him. He made mention that he was going to take my cash and go get a new tattoo which he obviously did in lieu of cleaning my car. He quoted me $160. Before going in I put about 3 hours into it myself getting all the big areas so that he would focus and spend more time on the details and hard to reach places. I brought the car to his house. He took a look at it and said "it wasn't too bad." I said great and left the car there. The next morning I came to pick it up and they guy tells me "I know I said $160, but I didn't realize how bad it was. It's going to be like $200 instead" Starts telling me about the pet hair between and under the seats. I'm like "I know! I told you about it to begin with!" We start having an argument over the meaning of the word "quote." In this guy's mind a quote is just a ballpark price and he can change the price up on you after the service if he feels like it. After a little back and forth he relents and decides to just charge me the original agreed upon price. But now tensions are high, he's pissed off, I'm pissed off, and he hands me the payment processor asking for a tip. Which I would of if not for what just happened. As uncomfortable as it was, I had to no tip the guy right to his face. I left there feeling like a POS. After I got home I started looking the car over and realized I was actually glad and very justified not tipping the guy because he did not even do a great job. He missed a lot of the "details" I took the car in for in the first place. He did a good job on the big areas and a few of the hard to reach places, but not the attention to detail I was expecting. A lot of creases, corners, vents, and other hard to reach areas still have dust and dirt in them. I'm going to have to spend some time in there with a little brush, cleaner, and some compressed air getting to all the "details" myself. I'll include some photos of what I mean, you can be the judge yourself. In conclusion, if your car is new and pretty clean to begin with, by all means, he's your guy. But if your car is really dirty or needs extra attention in the hard to reach areas, you probably need someone with better tools/skills and a bit more pride in his work. About the only thing I liked about his service is that the car does smells nice after whatever products he used. Other than that, a very stressful experience for me in every way possible. Also on a side note. I felt very uncomfortable having to input my debit card's pin into his payment processor as he's holding the device and watching me do it, like dam man can you at least pretend to look away or something as I'm putting in sensitive information? So use a credit card or cash if you don't want the guy knowing your card's pin... Left there feeling like I need change my card and/or pin.
