Not only is the Bookshop warm and inviting for everyone but there are different rooms to sit and enjoy your book choices and cozy seats to relax and read in. Also, this is a great little store for kids with a beautiful rainbow room and lots of books to choose from. But when I visited the small town of Brownsville I was greatly surprised to find a wonderful bookstore called BOOKS AND MORE. And I'll tell you it is MORE. The generous proprietress and her daughter and crew have developed a well thought out, well stocked store. Not just books either- consigned clothing, handbags shoes, gifts, cards, maps,and local information. On the weekends she hosts art workshops, book club and writing groups. She is the hub around which Brownsville rotates and they are so lucky to have her. If you are in the area be sure to stop and buy a book or two and say hello. This weekend I had the chance to come back and I'm so glad I did! The location is awesome. There's ample paid street parking and a ton of other stores and restaurants nearby. The front of the store is a large selection for adults and young adults, and then there's a nice kid section in the back. Employees are all awesome and very friendly AND will offer suggestions, which I love. I wish there was a bookstore like this one in my home town haha. But if you are in the area and are a reader, it's absolutely worth checking out!

Large room full of reasonably organized books. And it could easily hold a lot more. 2. I found the book I've been seeking (without the help of Amazon) - The Source by James A. Michener, and in decent shape. 3. My bonus book purchase was The Milepost (Alaska Travel Planner 2024) at a nice discount. This scope of this book extends into the Alaska Highway and beyond and serves as one of my "some day" books. 4. Nice and helpful store staff. 5. With the loss…read moreof Zephyr Books many years ago and the Book Gallery in Sparks, there just aren't enough quality used bookstores any longer. Grassroots Books is a very good used bookstore with a lot of variety of material-- children's books, DVD's, some records, gently used paperback and hardcover books. Hours are flexible for when they are open, however, they only buy books on Thursdays during the afternoon. I have never been tempted much to sell anything to them over the years, as they tend to be quite choosy with the material that they want and don't want. As a longtime book collector, this is important to maintaining a quality used stock and helps with inventory management. I highly recommend Grassroots for your next book adventure!
