We had a great time at the The Vinyl Society and happened to catch them during happy hour!! We enjoyed salads, grilled lamb chops, and great cocktails, while listening to the beautiful music. I would definitely go back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful decor inside and it feels like a jazz club from the past.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance and decor here is super cute, and the drinks are fun and fancy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]However, on a Thursday after work, it was completely empty - I wonder if it's more of a late night spot?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Our server was great, the music is super vibey, and we had a nice time chatting over cocktails and dessert, but it felt a little dead.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We would have had dinner, but the menu is kind of odd - snacks and desserts, really. I will say that the almond cake was amazing - perfectly light and moist, very good. My cocktail - something spicy that was set aflame - was delicious and perfect. Pricy though. I think $18 or something, and many of the cocktails were $20 or more. I'm not sure it's worth all that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This does seem like a great venue for a party and it has the cutest VIP section, but it would take a good promoter to fill the place up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd return for the right event.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Solid experience at a cool new place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the Detroit music-inspired Detroit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Cocktails were really good and fairly priced. My favorite was the Hot Like Fire -- spicy and delicious. Service was pretty quick for a craft cocktail place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The lighting could be a bit darker/sexier (it was quite bright for a Friday night)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and, if we're being honest, [[HIGHLIGHT]]I kind of expected there to be a DJ and some vinyl records spinning. Both of those feel like a bit of a missed chance to make the place even cooler.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I'm sure this will be the new go to spot for a more mature crowd. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is beautiful, it gives any type of vibe you want.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is great I sat at the bar and Mary was the bartender who interacted with our group. She makes amazing drinks and if you're a fan of an espresso martini she's your go to. The Caesar salad is phenomenal, I wish they wouldn't put the anchovies on the side but I understand. The sliders and chips were great. I enjoyed everything about my time here from the drinks to the food.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a really cute spot for a girls night out ![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would suggest getting a table instead of a booth. We had a booth but the table was lower than the seating so it was a little awkward when eating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drinks were GOOD and strong !! We did a charcuterie board and lamb chops. The food was good. We also had a GREAT waiter. Shout out to Danny ! He made our experience even greater. They also take your your coat and check it from your table. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very nice atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It wasn't busy at all for a 7:30 on a Saturday night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For parking you can park directly across the street for $20

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cool place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Went the day after Christmas so it was a little empty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But the drinks were really good and the slider burgers were delicious!! Cool place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I can see that with a crowd it would be a good hang out![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely wanna check it out again

[[HIGHLIGHT]]What a cool place![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were greeted once we walked in. Bartender got our drink order as soon as we sat down & the cocktails tasted & looked good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the ambiance in this place![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This bar is beautiful inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The owner was very welcoming. It is a high class bar with tasty drinks. We will be back to try to food.

Ohhh what a night! A friend of mine invited me out for an evening in the city. He wanted to go dancing and made reservations at Detroit Vinyl Society. I'd been here during the day before when they first opened up. Let me tell you the night scene takes on.an entirely different experience. They offer small plates so we ordered a few things. He got the sliders, flatbread pizza and I ordered the lamb chops. OMG...the lamb chops were fantastic! I didn't want to share! lol The cocktails were pretty good. I ended up having UP All Night, their version of the expresso martini and quite a few glasses of bubbly. The Dj started around 9pm. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What a great DJ! He was spinning some old school hip hop, which was such a vibe![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Let me just say that if you truly want to see the scene in the city, The Vinyl Society is the place to be late at night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We danced for hours, closed the place.....and I'm going to pay for it today but what a time we had! Detroit showed up!!!! I'm considering having a little birthday get together here! Check it out for sure. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Arrive a little early for a seat because this place gets packed and they'll lock the doors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The theme was "Yes, Chef: An exploration of culinary icons through a cocktail lens." Each drink was inspired by or dedicated to a famous culinary icon, and you can read about each one in the index. We each ordered one drink from each section. From the Opening, I chose the Diaspora Club, which was so refreshing and delicious. Then from the Principals, I chose the Chingona, which was a little bit spicy and savory but still so refreshing. To Finish, I chose the Chocolatier Cosmo, which came with a tiny house-made salted dark chocolate. I loved all three cocktails I ordered, especially the chocolatier cosmo because it was perfectly sweet and went so well with the small piece of chocolate. For food, we started off with the crispy pork belly milk bread. For my entree, I ordered the miso butter gnocchi. It was kind of on the salty side but I still really liked it. The apple sofrito added a bit of sweetness to it. For dessert, we had to get the rhubarb coffee cake, which came with strawberry ice cream. Omg one of the best desserts I've ever had!! I never thought of combining cinnamon coffee cake with rhubarb or strawberry but it's perfect, and I might have to make something like that soon. Service was great and we were seated right away at 8pm on a Saturday despite not having a reservation. Food and drinks came out promptly and timed perfectly. We spent about 1.5 hours here and we never felt rushed.

Bad Luck Bar is exactly the kind of place that makes you feel like you earned your cocktail before…read moreyou even order it. It is tucked away in an alley, and yes, the trash bins may briefly make you question your life choices. But once you spot the glass block window, you know you are in the right place. The second you walk in, the vibe completely changes. You are greeted by a friendly host, then brought into this tiny, dark, cozy little speakeasy that feels like it seats maybe 25 people total, including the bar. It is intimate in the best way, with a gorgeous liquor wall and a rolling ladder that makes the whole room feel dramatic without trying too hard. The drinks are the reason to come. They are creative, unusual, and genuinely unlike what you will find at a standard cocktail bar. Some of the spirit combinations sound like they should not work on paper, but somehow they absolutely do. The mixologists clearly know what they are doing, because every "wait, really?" ingredient pairing seems to turn into something balanced, interesting, and dangerously easy to appreciate. The only things to keep in mind are the size and the pricing. It can get busy quickly because it is so small, and cocktails can run anywhere from around $20 to over $100 depending on what you order. Not exactly a casual "oops, I had three" kind of place unless your wallet has been emotionally prepared. Bad Luck Bar is moody, memorable, and one of the more unique cocktail experiences in Detroit. It feels hidden, thoughtful, and just a little mischievous, which is exactly what a good speakeasy should be.

Please make a reservation! Our wait was about 30-40 mins so we walked to another spot to have a drink and wait. It's a cozy lux vibe with an upscale cocktail menu. This is not your normal tequila and soda okay! Know before you go! Visit their website and preview the drink options if you don't have experience with this style of bar. I ordered the Forgotten Blossom because all things lychee has been my thing lately. The drink looks like water but it is not! lol It's strong drink + having aperitif in it. The waiter was attentive and checked in on us consistently. We even received a complimentary shot after being seated and complimentary birthday shots for the birthday folks! I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and I will be back real soon!

Leave or to my daughter to find the most off the beaten path restaurant to celebrate her birthday…read more She is obsessed with rooftop views hence how we ended up here. I took one look at the menu and cocktail list, and determed that we would be going somewhere else to eat afterwards, thinking, "this won't be a long visit at all." But oh was I pleasantly surprised. First round of cocktails set the tone and gave us the courage to go ahead and try some of the plates. We decided on the shrimp, pork belly and gorgonzola cheese ones. Absolutely delicious. So then we decided on round two of cocktails the plate of chips, avocado toast and another round of pork belly! Again, divine. Although I will admit, everything got dipped into the pork belly sauce. Was tempted to do a round three to try the highly recommended lobster rolls but decided to save something for the next visit because there will be one. They executed all the small plates exceptionally well. And the cocktails were top quality! Only complaint was the seats are very low to the ground. I'm short and my legs were aching. I can only imagine how uncomfortable those with normal legs feel after dining. BTW my daughter and her friends had a wonderful birthday celebration but ended up leaving us adults there because we were having such a good time!
