Speedy service! Matthew and team took great care of our little Oliver! What we thought was potentially a big problem, tuned out to be not bad at all!! The peace of mind was worth it all!!! Thank you

I hate to even have to do this but I have been calling High Valley Veterinary Hospital for almost three weeks and have gotten no resolution Sooo fuck it. Hopefully this can help someone else when choosing a veterinary office for their pets in Ramona. I will say Dr Gilbert was really good at pretending to give a shit, two weeks ago when he requested I email him a run down of what happened but now have not heard from him since. * * I have been taking my family pets to high valley for over ten years and can confidently say I will never step foot in there again. If I could give them zero stars I would. I took my four month old puppy there May 10th was told he had allergies and he's fine.. prescribed him allergy meds And sent us home. next day May 11th called twice because his symptoms had gotten worse and no one returned my call, I drove over there was there for three hours, again was told to just supply them with a a fecal sample after they could not find what's wrong and not to bring him back, that they don't need to see him again. Spent $375 within two days. Thursday May 12th, rushed our puppy to another establishment and was told he had PARVO. They had him being treated and on IVs within the hour. If I had listened to high valley vet our puppy would have died. I now have emailed the owner of the business and called the office multiple times trying to receive a refund before sharing my story over the last three weeks but have gotten the run around. The lack of compassion and professionalism is beyond me. Do yourself a favor and your pets and do not go there!! On top of this shitty post I do want to thank Veterinary Specialty Hospital- North County for acting quickly and saving Rhonni. If it wasn't for your quick action and care he wouldn't have made it!

Buck. Cancer lump on his side (looking like a benign fatty tumor BEWARE) removed 2 years ago at High Valley.

Today I took my 11 year-old Cane Corso / English Bulldog to High Valley for his shots. I requested Assistant Manny ( she deals with difficult dogs) to help. When I moved up here I worried about finding a vet. I discovered Manny. And brought Buck to "meet" her over a period of 2 months. She would come out, walk around the hospital with a muzzled Buck. He loves her. It's been 7 years now. I still muzzle him. But he is excited to see Manny every time. Today he met the NEW VET ( another worry) DR. GILBERT. NO GROWLING. NO SCREAMING. NO MORE TWISTING AND TWERKING! Thank you to Ms Manning and Dr. Gilbert who came out to greet the BUCKEROO. I am beyond thankful for High Valley Veterinary Hospital and the time and patience they dedicated to my very strong and DIFFICULT -AT -THE- VET dog.

Last Friday, they called me toward the END of the time window they were supposed to arrive, to say that the appointment before me took longer than expected and they would have to reschedule. That annoyed me greatly. They rescheduled for the next available appointment a week later. Frankly I felt like they should have cancelled someone else's (first) appointment to have my dog seen sooner since this was their second cancellation of my appointment. Today was the third rescheduled date. I just got a call that, sorry, they have to cancel, I should call to reschedule. What is wrong with you? I'm not here waiting to have my blinds fixed or furniture delivered... I have an animal who is suffering who needs health care. He is now developing sores around his eyes where weeks ago he just had slight indications of a skin issue. Total failure as a business and healthcare provider and has shown complete disregard for the suffering of my animal.

We drove there at 1am in the rain and had high hopes she would pull through, but the X-ray showed a terminal issue and the outcome was inevitable. We appreciate the compassion and professionalism of the staff, especially so late at night. Would highly recommend. My only complaints: 1) No airflow in the two rooms off to the side. Not so bad if you're only in there for 15 min but after an hour, you have to open the door just to breathe. 2) The TV in the lobby is too loud. The people working the counter can hear YOU through the glass partition, but are not aware that your ears are competing with the TV just to hear what they're saying back at you. Another customer came in just after us with a dog whose eye had popped out of the socket. :-( They also had difficulty hearing anything from the counter staff thanks to that TV. Maybe a nice, quiet video loop of relaxing/calming scenery, flowing water, etc.? I can't hear over David Attenborough's voice and that's saying a lot since he's a fairly soft-spoken guy.

When the staff spoke with us, his response was dismissive and showed no compassion. He even asked if bloody diarrhea was our only concern, despite us clearly explaining how serious her symptoms were. When I described Peanut's symptoms to the front desk staff, she immediately tried to assume it was a seizure, even though that was never part of her symptoms. After 45 minutes of waiting, the staff told us the doctor was ready and asked us to hand over Peanut. We were confused as to why we couldn't be present for the initial exam, but we complied. Another 30 minutes passed, and when we asked for an update, we were told the doctor was with another patient and Peanut was "next." Then Peanut vomited blood again, so she was taken back immediately and again we were told she was next. We waited another hour, and by this time it was 12:30 AM with still no care provided. At that point, we were frustrated and concerned for her safety, so we decided to leave and find another urgent care. We found WAG Animal ER, only 8 minutes away, with the same $100 exam fee and no wait. The difference was night and day. The staff there was kind, compassionate, and professional. Peanut was seen by a doctor within 5 minutes. And the Dr even called us 3 days later to check on her status.

Started going back to PetCo because they have focus and will put everything in the bag when I leave. Maybe she could go back in stocking and stop detracting. Nice woman, just not any focus. And distracts everyone from focusing on the job at hand. Like I said, love this place, but.... Better for me to go to Petco and get what I need. With the padres losing so much, it's not even the padres discount at Petco, but just making sure I get out with everything I went there for. She's very friendly and nice, but doesn't have animals on her mind like the rest of the team. Maybe she'll grow into the maturity it takes to do the job, maybe she won't. In the meantime, you're losing customers and I take my $300 a month+ and go elsewhere. It's a small drop in the bucket, but watch the faces and rolled eyes customers give to each other when asking questions, or when you're trying to check out and she's literally tacking at the guy trying to check you out. Someone should be paying attention there who is oversight. Perky doesn't cut it anymore when you can get what you want for cheap and get free delivery, or go to the kahootz in Poway, or Petco. Or Amazon. Really used to love this place. But.... When customers have to point out the shortcomings of what training isn't covering then there's a problem from the top down. When you have people sitting in the oversight chair up on the right side, you'd think they would be listening to see how things go, instead they join in. I'm too old for this crap. They seem to be the only game in town for a lot of items. I've spoken with two other people who go there who have had similar issues when asking for help there. Like her saying "she" (instead of "we") doesn't carry it, so she doubts the existence of a product. Seriously. Has done this to me twice. And to two other shoppers I know who are friends. What's going on there? It doesn't matter to me, I am going elsewhere again. Just when you had me back. So, don't even bother replying, not coming back. I hear there's a new pet store setting up in town. I guess competition causes competency. Eventually, she'll learn the job if people start mentoring her.
