I love this place, except the young woman who seems new and distracts all the young men from doing the good job they do with her conversation. What happened to oversight? Started going back to PetCo because they have focus and will put everything in the bag when I leave. Maybe she could go back in stocking and stop detracting. Nice woman, just not any focus. And distracts everyone from focusing on the job at hand. Like I said, love this place, but.... Better for me to go to Petco and get what I need. With the padres losing so much, it's not even the padres discount at Petco, but just making sure I get out with everything I went there for. She's very friendly and nice, but doesn't have animals on her mind like the rest of the team. Maybe she'll grow into the maturity it takes to do the job, maybe she won't. In the meantime, you're losing customers and I take my $300 a month+ and go elsewhere. It's a small drop in the bucket, but watch the faces and rolled eyes customers give to each other when asking questions, or when you're trying to check out and she's literally tacking at the guy trying to check you out. Someone should be paying attention there who is oversight. Perky doesn't cut it anymore when you can get what you want for cheap and get free delivery, or go to the kahootz in Poway, or Petco. Or Amazon. Really used to love this place. But.... When customers have to point out the shortcomings of what training isn't covering then there's a problem from the top down. When you have people sitting in the oversight chair up on the right side, you'd think they would be listening to see how things go, instead they join in. I'm too old for this crap. They seem to be the only game in town for a lot of items. I've spoken with two other people who go there who have had similar issues when asking for help there. Like her saying "she" (instead of "we") doesn't carry it, so she doubts the existence of a product. Seriously. Has done this to me twice. And to two other shoppers I know who are friends. What's going on there? It doesn't matter to me, I am going elsewhere again. Just when you had me back. So, don't even bother replying, not coming back. I hear there's a new pet store setting up in town. I guess competition causes competency. Eventually, she'll learn the job if people start mentoring her. read more

There is a very fine resident cat at this location and they do frequent low-cost vaccination clinics. Parking is easy, selection is ample, and they have free stickers! What's not to love? read more

The East county has a good pet store here. One of the draws here are the live chicks (the animals not humans). The kiddos should love being able to watch and pet the little chicks. Overall this is a large pet store with probably every pet need you would be looking for. I'd actually love to see one of these stores expand into the main parts of San Diego someday. I had purchased dog food and my dog of over a decade had died the next day. I was distraught and tried to ask for a refund and the male manager with shorter brown hair didn't provide it. I understand there is store policy, but I've worked in enough customer service settings that I know there are always exceptions. This happened in October 2021 and it still bothers me to this day. I recently adopted two cats after not having a pet since 2022. Their customer service prior to this experience was good, so I don't want to dock many stars, but this experience soured any future desire to shop here. read more

Kahoots is my Go To pet store in Ramona. The staff here are knowledgable about all aspects of pet foods, especially farm animals and horses. We know most of the staff and all of them own horses and other farm animals so they are a wealth of knowledge. If we ever have a question about a certain type of food or supplement we know they are there to give us an informed answer. This place was AWESOME! It was the high point of our Saturday drive up in Ramona. They have a wide variety of pre supplies. From toys and treats to gourmet foods. The only bummer to this place is that we don't live close enough to come here all the time. We picked up some treats, toys and food for the dogs. Actually my dog Tank is a beast so he really enjoyed the cow hoof that we picked up for him (see pic). The employees here seem to be really into animals so it gives me a lot of faith in their products. The next time we are in the neighborhood we will definitely hit this place up. read more

I have to give major props to Cassie (I really Hope this is her name) at Kahoots Ramona. I was in a bit of a cat food emergency and recently moved to Ramona. She searched for my cats food in a competitors website found the ingredients and matched it as close as possible to a Kahoots brand cat food. She listened to how stressed out I was not getting my cat the same food she had eaten for several years, and did whatever it took to make sure I felt good about the new unfamiliar food I was going to give my cat I had never been to a Kahoots before, but returned to get the same customer service for my dog's food. Both pets are now happily eating Kahoots brand food with no adverse effects. PLUS they are loving the food. Thanks Cassie for your fantastic customer service! I have a 20 year old Maine coon named furball. He was not doing well at all health wise and I needed help. I went in to Kahoots and was greeted by Sarah who works at Kahoots. She took the time to help me pick out the best canned cat food for Furball which I desperately needed as he was to the point of not eating anything anymore. I bought the cat food Sarah suggested and the cat litter and she carried them to my car. When I got home I opened a can of the cat food that Sarah had suggested and suggested and my furball gobbled it all up. He is now purring and is in a happier state thanks to Sarah's recommendation for the canned cat food! Sarah saved Furball's life!! It's impossible to over-emphasize how awesome Kahoots is. They are open later than other feed stores, and they're open Sundays, which is seriously a life saver sometimes (see my previous review). They have an extremely wide variety of merchandise. They're really a pet supply store... Also selling fish and small animals. They seem to stock chicks throughout the year, with a wide variety of breeds, starting at the very reasonable price of $4 per bird. Their chicks are all vaccinated against Marik's disease as well. They have started manufacturing their own line of feed. Originally I think it was just dog food, but now they're making horse feed as well. My senior horse likes their senior feed very much and is gaining weight, which makes me happy. The staff is very friendly and helpful too. read more

I got to the store about 20 minutes later with my two Jack Russell Terriers and was greeted by Holly. She was outrageously nice and offered treats to my puppies. I am so grateful for this store. I remember going to them before they had the new location and always had pleasant interactions with the staff. I'm always greeted by someone and everyone working there is above and beyond helpful. They even listen to me gripe about cat food woes and have let me return stuff without question. I can't say enough good things about our local Kahoots. Sure, the parking lot is weird and the layout is odd but it's a lot easier to get in and out of than the last location. I haven't utilized their pet services like shots and teeth cleaning but I appreciate that they offer it. They have such a great selection of pet food, toys, treats, etc and the the people working there know quite a lot about the products. I would never guess how important it would be to be knowledgeable about cat food until someone like me comes in. I've never had a bad experience there. It's another Ramona gem. read more

I love kahoots! I moved to Ramona about a year ago and I wasn't so sure I could let go of Petsmart!!! But there was no way I was driving a distance just for pet items when I could walk down the block for it. All 6 of my dogs love it here. The staff is SEVERALY friendly. The feed is filled with natural and healthy things . I have officially switched from Petsmart to kahoots. One day the bulb in my lizards tank compleatly shattered out of no where ! I was freaking out . The glass managed to get in the tank and everywhere . Kahoots was closing when I got there I was so scared that my baby would die because it was winter and he had no heat. The man closing the door gladly opened it for me and let me in . I have never been so thankful in all my life . My faith in people has been restored . I've been coming to Kahoots in Ramona as my primary go-to for pet needs for over a decade now, and have never been disappointed. The shop is always clean, inside and out. No clutter, and a pleasant odor all the time. Their fish department is great, the selection of cat supplies is huge, and the dog supplies is even bigger. They also carry many different lines of rodent food and supplies. The service is great, and the employees are knowledgeable about every topic I've ever brought to them. I am in LOVE with Kahoots. This store is amazing, I had no clue that there was dog food for all stages and sizes, it was either puppy, adult, senior, small breed or large breed. Sooo much money is being saved by being able to buy one bag for my dogs. There is so much merchandise in this store i do not know where to begin. Okay well they have fish, bunnies, hamsters, lizards, birds and baby chicks; along with all they need. Dog houses, beds, crates collars and leashes. Dog treats and toys galore. I got my dogs tags made there on the spot too and everyone who work's there has been great and helpful. This is the first time I went to this new location in Ramona and I was very impressed. I went in for a detangling/flea comb for my cats. My only complaint was that some of the shelves looked kind of bare, but it might just be because they hadn't had a chance to restock. Unfortunately I didn't find that particular comb in the cats' section but did find one in the dogs' section . The staff was very friendly when I checked out. They told me that they had a bunch of detangling products on sale and if I didn't have to run then I would have taken a look. I will definitely be back. I have a dog that was recently diagnosed with diabetes. I've been so overwhelmed trying to learn all there is to know about treatment and nutrition. I'm so glad I came to Kahoots.
