I don't give bad reviews lightly, but Higher Education robbed me of $70. They did this by selling me a cheaply made knock-off grinder and then refusing to accept a return. Higher Education are criminals who are damaging the name of an American Company, Cali Crusher, as well as trust in local businesses. I brought the clean and unused grinder back into Higher Education, along with the receipt, and proof that it was a knockoff. The Owner's reply after acknowledging that it was fake grinder was: "No returns. No returns, no exceptions. Do you want me to keep repeating myself?" This is the most unprofessional and disgusting way of doing business I've seen from a RVA proprietor outside of Seibert's Towing. Selling cheaply made knockoff goods for premium price of $70 and refusing to accept returns is simply criminal. The Owner has made this practice his policy, and for that reason Higher Education does not deserve your business. PS: The Grinder is fake because: 1) It visibly doesn't have Cali Crusher's patented 4-Way Quick Lock System. it just has regular cheap metal threading 2) It doesn't have the crossbar supports beneath the screen. 3) It has a cheap plastic pollen scraper, instead of Cali Crusher's signature guitar pick shape. read more

Had great experiences at this place (which is a few blocks from my house), until they sold me an 18mm bubbler after I specifically told the sales associate (who I think was pretty new) that I needed a 14mm stem--then flat out refused to exchange it for something that would work when I brought it back totally unused 20 minutes later. The associate even admitted it was his fault for selling me the wrong size, but his manager wouldn't let him do the obvious decent thing--which was exchange it. I mean seriously, what the heck is that? When I called the manager myself, she wouldn't even hear me out, just saying "no refunds" and "you should have read the signs before buying something." Totally not how the law works, much less basic retail service. I seriously hope that $85 one-time sale was worth losing a repeat customer and pissing off a neighbor. read more

Salesperson (didn't catch her name but she mentioned she's worked here for about 2 months) was very friendly. She was great at suggesting products. Great selection of items. Location was easy to get in and out of. Will 100% return when visiting Richmond. read more

I didn't see exactly what I was looking for, but the person helping continued to look while I was browsing. She found the perfect piece for me! I like it basic and simple. This is my go to place for anything I need of this nature. It's a bit further away than Carytown Tobacco for me, but Higher Education offers a much more friendly customer service team (mainly the only lady I ever see). You can't beat the prices and friendliness. read more
