My parents moved into Highgate Senior Living at Temecula about four months ago, and like many families, I was initially very concerned about the transition. Thankfully, our experience has been nothing short of amazing. From the beginning, the staff have been incredibly kind and helpful, and the environment is warm and welcoming. A special mention goes to Kat Librojo, the Activities Director/Life Enhancement Coordinator, who has truly made a remarkable difference in my parents' daily lives. Kat plans a wide variety of fun, engaging, and meaningful activities that keep residents active and connected. My parents participate daily in many of Kat's programs--from exercise in the gym, balloon games, trivia, and bingo, to flower arranging, chair Pilates, core strength classes, and their favorite: Thursday Happy Hour with live music! Kat is always full of energy and creativity, and whenever I visit, she's there with a smile, often decorating for the next holiday or special event. It's clear that the joy and engagement my parents feel is directly tied to the caring and dedicated team at Highgate--especially Kat. Our mother has been in memory care for many years. As anyone who has a parent living with a horrible disease knows, it takes very patient very caring people to make everyone more comfortable. We have that here at Highgate. Sam and Jose are one in a million (well 2 in a million). In a business that has a LOT of turnover, these two HEROS have been looking after our mom for quite some time and we are grateful to have them. My mom has been living at Highgate for a year and a half and it's such an amazing place. The staff is incredibly caring - from the people at the front desk, to the wonderful care partners to housekeeping to the night crew. They take great care of my mom and make her feel loved and welcome. Highgate also has an incredible Activities Team. They make sure there is always something fun to do. Last Sunday they held a champagne brunch with a pasta and dessert station. The week before they put together an art exhibition to showcase residents' art and collections. There was live music, appetizers and each item displayed included an explanation of the piece. You cannot imagine the pride the residents felt as they showed off their treasures. It is obvious that the staff at Highgate truly care about the people who live there. They don't talk down to them but treat them with respect and listen to their stories. It is with a happy heart that I am writing this review about Highgate Senior Living Facility in Temecula! Two years ago it became necessary to move my mom and her sister into an Assisted Living Facility. Our family looked at several places in the area and it soon became very apparent Highage was definitely the Grandma's new home! It was clean, beautiful and well maintained. There has never been a doubt since they moved in that they are receiving wonderful care!! The entire staff is soooo welcoming, kind, loving and fun! Every time we visit the grandmas, we are greeted by smiling, helpful, friendly staff. Everyone always goes out of their way to answer questions and find solutions! My mom moved into Highgate about a year and a half ago. I think they do a great job. They are very engaged with residents. Mom appreciates them so much and so do we. The job they do is incredibly difficult and sometimes we think they should do something different than the way they do, but often when I look back I honestly say "aha, they were right." Communication is good, they have done a wonderful job this past year navigating everything required of them with the pandemic. I never feel like I am bothering them when I call with a request. I truly feel like they are our partners in making sure mom is safe and happy. read more

With COVID-19 restrictions in place to protect residents, Highgate staff made a stressful move of our mother into Memory Care such a pleasant experience. We dropped furniture, boxes, clothes, etc. at a specified location. A team met us and sanitized everything before moving it to her room. As we were not permitted into the building due to COVID-19 restrictions, Highgate staff moved all furniture in, mounted the TV on the wall and set it up, unpacked all her belongings, hung curtains and pictures on the wall and made her bed. This was all done within a 2-hour window. Staff even came in or their holiday to accomplish this move (4th of July weekend). They were wonderful. Our experience with the Executive Director, Healthcare Director, Caregiver Coordinator and Maintenance Director has also been great. We were guided through the process and kept in the loop every step of the way. Our mother is now enjoying a safe and caring environment at Highgate Temecula. read more

I have been working at Highgate for over 2 years, I am the stylist, so I am everywhere in the facility and at different times. The training that is given here is exceptional, the employees really care about each and every resident, I see, first hand, the care, the respect and the love that is given here. The managers are right on the floor with the employees, making sure everything is done correctly. Kathleen (the director) is like a ninja, she is quietly everywhere. I always see her talking with residents and employees. We have team meetings where we can openly discuss anything and everything. I love working here, I adore the residents and employees. I can say " I look forward to going to work every day!" It's a lot of fun being here. read more

This facility is absolutely horrendous. It looks great from the outside and administration puts on a good show in order to try and get you to send your loved ones here, but please do not send your loved ones here. I am a former employee, and it is such a dangerous facility for your loved ones to be here. The head LVN of the facility, gave an unqualified individual keys to the medicine carts which led to a medication error that could've killed one of the residents. Keeping in mind this individual was never trained on how to pass meds but the incident was covered up by the head director Kathleen and nobody was fired for almost killing a resident. The coordinators and leads frequently exchange personal resident information through personal phones which violates HIPAA, yet this is another situation consistently covered up by administration. There are fall risk residents that aren't able to have access to a bed alarm system because they are combining two residents in a solo bedroom which only has access to 1 bed alarm system. This led to the other resident falling 4 times in 1 night, and on the last fall the resident had to get sent out to the hospital. The caregiver to resident ratio is atrocious. At night, there is a 21:1 resident to caregiver ratio on the most active and advanced memory care floor the facility has. How can 1 person effectively care for the most severe memory care floor of the facility? Administration covers up a lot of wrong doing, and asks leads to change the log books before corporate and state comes in, to ensure they don't get penalized by corporate, as well as several other things they hide. In about the span of 4 months, we lost roughly 8 caregivers just on my floor alone, due to the unsafe working environment that administration is responsible for. This place is so dangerous for your loved ones, they . I am currently bringing forth all of this information to state and corporate, and I will fight for those residents until the very end! Looks like a nice place from the outside but why do they have such a high turnover w their staff? They have all these activities but they don't get the residents out of their rooms to participate unless it's a family day. My mom was there over a year and I was there a lot. Make sure you visit and keep an eye on your loved one. Stop in. Meds get "forgotten or misplaced" Am staff not notified from PM Staff. Not allowed to touch residents or get close with them. The list goes on. I pulled my mom out. **Kathleen is the worst of the staff. She should NOT be working w the elderly. She is fake as fake can be. read more

Highgate is a beautiful community, well kept and VERY expensive. My dad had his reservations about moving here because he loved his home. My sister encouraged him, talked highly of the place and managed to move him. In the two month that he has live there, his health has declined. The food is bland. Activities are more for people in wheelchairs and walkers, my dad walks just fine with a cane. Just because it is beautiful and new, doesn't make it good... As I mention its VERY expensive. A one bedroom apartment is $5400.00 a month. That's CRAZY!!!! He came home from the hospital, had to have a bag drained twice daily, they charged and additional $2500 a month. They will charge you for everything note included in the rent. Yes, I want the best for my dad but this place is killing him and draining him dry! There are many beautiful senior living places. Look around, do your home work, and talk to residents. This place is all about the money, not the resident. BEWARE!!! read more

It recently became necessary for mom to relocate to Highgate Senior Assisted Living. She is 86, owned her own home in Temecula for the last 25 years and came to realize that she needed help. She had become quite ill, recovering from chemo and needed extra care and attention so she reluctantly made the decision to sell her beloved home and move to Highgate. To be honest, I was not sure she was going to make it. I did some research on Assisted and came across Highgate Senior Living, I scheduled a tour and immediately knew it was the place for her! It is beautiful with a lot to offer it's residents. I would live there myself if I were of age! The photos on the website do not do it justice. I will admit it was a rocky start with so many life altering changes for mom as she is very independent. It took her time to get well and accept her new home. Having said that, I am so pleased with the results. Mom has done a 180 and gone from needing 24 hour care to living pretty much independently thanks in large part to the staff at Highgate. She is now smiling, laughing and enjoying her new home, looking forward to taking advantage of some of the activities offered at Highgate. She is able to care for herself for the most part and if more care is needed, it is only a phone call away. So glad I made the decision to move forward with Highgate Senior Assisted Living for my mom. KC read more

This facility is stunning. If your loved one has no health needs, this could be the place for you. If your loved one has ANY health needs, please run as fast as you can because the "medical" staff has extensive turnover and those who primarily care for your loved one are med techs. The staff is not honest about what they can medically handle and only has nurses on site during "business hours" of about 9:30-3:30 from our experience. Our medications have gone "missing" multiple times with no explanation as well. My loved one has been to the ER so many times I've lost count, because the staff was not honest during the tour and sales pitch. They claimed they could the health needs, which we have found that they most certainly cannot. There was also a recent COVID outbreak of 60 (that is not a type-o (60)) residents and staff members. Seriously poor medical management. Take my advice and walk briskly away from the beautiful facade and look for another facility that offers 24/7 nurses, not med techs. read more

My dad has been in the Cottage (Memory Care unit) for close to a year and a half now. It was a difficult transition for his children to make, but he has adjusted well. Although the pandemic has limited our in-person visits at times, the staff is still very communicative. I receive phone calls/texts/emails/letters if they have any concerns or feel he needs something. They have been more than helpful in accommodating my requests in regards to his care. I am able to speak with him weekly on Face time, and currently can visit him in person under strict health and safety guidelines. I am grateful to all the Highgate staff, especially the care providers in the Cottage, for keeping him healthy during this time. I think a rating of VERY GOOD is deserved. read more

I can't recommend anyone take your loved ones to Highgate. Just because it is beautiful and new, doesn't make it good... Highgate looks beautiful on the outside but we all know the inner workings of assisted living relys on and depends on the assistance provided to the residents. My mom was living there for only 45 days and in that time...1.) got cradle cap from not having showers on a regular basis and her pillow cases wer not changed for 3 weeks), 2.) a urinary tract infection (not getting cleaned properly after toileting, no regular bathing schedule), 3.) congestive heart failure, 4.) leading to a blood clot in the lung. NONE of the staff noticed that she was looking extremely bloated, her feet were like sausages, and was in bed at noon. It was not until her friend came and visited that anything was done. No one could even tell us how she got into her bed. NO ONE took responsibilty there. Her oxygen level was 85. How could you not notice she was looking a bit gray? They told us so many lies, about the food all being fresh and healthy. At dinner with mom one night, the server offered me pie with whipped cream on it, it came with Cool Whip, or ask for cream in my coffee and get Coffee Mate. Healthy...chemicals? Mom ordered tapioca pudding, it came right out of a can, with Cool Whip on top of it. They have a beautiful kitchen with a creative 'chef' but they are far from serving everything fresh! Dissapointing compared to what we were told. We have since moved her to another place that is beautiful too, AND the care is AMAZING. NOt only is mom living, she is flourishing!!! The Vineyard Ranch at Temecula is the place I would recommend. read more

i currently work at this great senior care place n I have nothing but good things to say about all the employees and the managing department , Melissa goes above and beyond to help on any department she's always helping working the floor with the care partners , I've seen how well she has managed both memory care and assisted living , out of all the people that work at this Facility I can tell u if u need help she will do what ever she can to get the job done and done the right way , I can sure anyone the pts are treated with respect and love and they become not only patients but a part of our family I've never seen any one be mistreated from the cp to the patients , Melissa goes above n beyond for the pts and for the employees, i know for a fact that every single person that is hired goes through a background check n a drug test , this company is great to work for and I will always come work with them if I'm needed a big shout out to all the Highgate family read more

Highgate Senior Living Resort is above all others we have experienced. This is a wonderful example of honoring our aging elders. The meals are fresh, nutritious and delicious. The chefs cater to personal requests and there is always ice cream! The multiple daily activities offer opportunities to build new friendships. The always cheerful Care Partners are wonderful by taking initiative and bringing residents out of their quiet apts. to join in or simply be around people rather than sitting and being lonely. Cooking, painting, sewing classes, BINGO, wall scrabble, The Man Cave of billiards, shuffle board, etc and outings celebrate the elders desire for fun. Our hearts are comforted with this marvelous staff of kind, caring, compassionate, professionally skilled gentle care partners. The Fitness Room helps to build healing bodies. The Hair Salon and Nail salon as well as the spa are really very lovely. Mom is in a safe home with prompt care at the touch of a button. While Mom may not remember to push the call button sometimes, one of the care partners frequently drop by for a quick check and visit. This week, Mom had forgotten to ask for walking assistance and fell. Within moments, her alert bracelet alerted the staff of the fall. Paramedics were called first and then we were called immediately. The safe protocol procedure was not only effective, but also greatly appreciated. We are truly impressed. The staff regards their residents as family and we are deeply grateful. Thank you very much for all you do to make Mom transition to this safe, clean and happy home. We appreciate each of you. We HIGHLY recommend this senior living for anyone looking for the next place to call home. read more
