That should have been our first clue. The installation went well except for the fact that the two-man crew (who didn't speak English), left behind a lot of debris including a large pile of hardened cement, a pile of dirt from the post holes, and screws and nails. Over the course of 2 1/2 weeks following installation, several phone calls, texts, and emails were sent to have the debris removed but to no avail. The sales rep, Austin Tew chose to ghost us. Only after an email to the CEO, Mr. Niel Archibald did the debris get cleaned up. Another 2 weeks go by without any notification of when the fence would be stained. Again, Mr Tew would not return our calls or email. Suddenly we received an email from Mr. Archibald indicating he was cancelling our contract to have our fence stained claiming they had a "scheduling problem". This was just as well as we found a qualified contractor to do the staining for half the price. We will NEVER use or recommend Rainier Fence & Decking to anyone!! If anyone chooses to have Rainier build their fence, they would be at risk of receiving the quality of customer service that is severely lacking in trust and integrity.

$17k job to replace our old fence and gate. The job was barely average work. I'm still finding…read moreconcrete wash in my backyard. I've had to chip out my drip lines. Rainier boasts about their wood quality, but I'm looking at multiple warped boards and split caps. The boards are short and the gate sags. Local dogs are crawling under the fence easily. They also punctured my irrigation system repeatedly. The crew was shown the location of the pipes and still ran up over $1000 in repairs at my expense. After multiple other property damage claims, they took ownership of a single irrigation breakage. Their shoddy repair failed within a year. They couldn't be bothered with a slip fix and just split the difference on either end, leaving the pipe seated only halfway into either coupling. Of course it failed. After Doug ghosted me for a month, I had decided to see what their price was for abandoning a customer. Doing the fix myself cost $23 in parts and less than an hour of work. If I was getting a wage, I'm betting this fix was under $100 if Rainier decided to be accountable. After charging $17k for building a mediocre fence, it would have been smart to make right on their mistakes. Rainier's product and ethic is virtually identical to that fella your buddy knows that'll do it on the cheap. They'll both try to worm out of their mistakes and outright ghost you if given the chance. If you hire Rainier, mark your irrigation lines clearly and good luck patching it up anyway.

We had a fairly large project involving different fence types, four different gates, and also…read morelogistically difficult due to our hill and delicate plants. We worked with Jacob to make a plan and work out details and needs. Jacob assured us the plants would be avoided as best as possible, and went over what should be moved or tied back to help ensure they were protected. Inevitably a couple of plants were just too in the way, but overall the team took lots of care around them. There was a little delay with the posts we went with and Jacob communicated wonderfully about this, and worked to get us in immediately once the posts were finished with the fabricator. Cristian led the work crew and was an excellent communicator throughout. We ran into a couple of underground wires that were not properly marked by the marking company, he was extremely remorseful and one of the guys ran out to get parts immediately to put in a temporary fix. Again, this was not their fault, yet they took responsibility. The team worked hard for several days, always communicating what was happening. They were respectful, and not loud (except for power tools as needed). The project made a bit of a mess, I was a little worried about clean up, but Cristian assured me they would be doing a full clean up once the project concluded. They did such a great job cleaning up! For such a nuanced project, they did an excellent job and we would highly recommend them. We are so pleased! Thanks Neighborly!

Wow! I'm amazed that Cedar River construction doesn't have more reviews on Yelp. We contacted eight…read moredifferent contractors to just get a fence quote and only a handful of them actually got back to us. One even gave us a quote and when I called to book the job, they never called back. We found Steve's website online and he called us back within a day, was out to do the quote with in a few days after that and started the job within about a week! He was prompt, professional and not afraid of technology (I.e he knew how to respond via email--which was great because then we didn't play phone tag.) He used quality lumber from a local company, got the job done on time and delivered high quality work. His quote was just a bit less than other quotes (yea!), but generally all the quotes we got were in the same ballpark. So it was really his promptness, communication and professionalism that sold us. The site was clean and orderly after they left and we came home to a beautiful cedar fence. I especially like the gate design. If we ever re-do our deck or extend the fence line, Cedar River will be our first call. I'd recommend Steve's work to anyone!

When we raised the issue, they initially denied installing that particular post. After we provided clear photographic evidence proving otherwise, they stopped responding and have ignored our repeated messages ever since. The workmanship was disappointing, but their refusal to address a legitimate problem was even more concerning. In our experience, this is not a company that takes responsibility when something goes wrong. We also found information on the BBB website stating that the company had not obtained a necessary license from the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries. Prospective customers may want to verify the contractor's licensing status themselves before hiring them.

Starting with my technician, Sam Berezhnyi, he was able to explain everything within about 30 minutes and have a signed contract shortly after. Concise explanation of options and no waste of time. In less than a week, my installer, Vasyl Prozapas, skillfully made, and install three gates and a partial fence in one day. They were able to schedule to have the fence built in the same week. The only issue was that the crew showed up later than what we were told, but they did show up and complete the project as promised and built a beautiful fence.

They built a 6 foot high privacy fence around my entire yard exactly on schedule, completed in three months time, after a different contractor backed out. Only reason they don't get five stars is disorganization with their quotes. I had someone come out and measure up the property but never heard back from them, only ended up going with Secoma after another contractor (fortunately, it would turn out) backed out, so I gave Secoma a call to see what happened with that quote and they finally sent it over, turned out to be the lowest quote relative to material selection. I got lucky but sucks that I nearly missed out on their excellent work and prices because of this.
