We had a nice 1-night stay at the Rose Street Bed & Breakfast, which is located within walking distance to Georgetown's Main Street. All the restaurants and shops are very easily accessible from this location. Our accommodations were in the Red Mountain Suite. The room was very spacious with a comfortable bed, and nice view. There are several rooms within the B&B open to all guests, including a living room, library, TV room and kitchen. Upon our arrival, there were fresh baked treats and coffee and tea available. In the morning, the breakfast was really good and filling. Our breakfast included, coffee or tea, juice, eggs, french toast and sausage. The meal was prepared fresh. read more

We really enjoyed our stay. Justin and Jamie were very friendly. The room was nice and clean. It is located seconds from Guanella Pass Brewing and 511 Rose, which is where we had dinner. That place was excellent too. Loved the old time, homey feel of the place. I enjoyed listening to the record player in the common area. Jamie made us a delicious homemade breakfast too. I would definitely recommend if you are in the area. read more

We booked a room at The Rose St B&B on July 6 2021 via a major booking website for a 1 night stay on August 6th. Soon after I made the reservation, I am contacted by Jaime, the Rose owner(?)/manager who kindly asks my address for billing purpose and ask few questions about our visit. I inform her that we are based in CA and that we'll be riding a motorcycle from CA, via Beaver UT, to her establishment. On August 2nd, I am finalizing the details of our trip and find out that I70 (the only road to the Rose coming from Utah - or even Denver) has been closed to all traffic since few weeks due to major landslides. I call The Rose right away and Jaime informs me that it's not an issue for us to reach the B&B sine there are 2 detours around I70. After calling Glenwood Springs visitor center (where the landslides are located), I know understand that the 2 detours are 200 miles (4 hours) drive in the mountain. I inform The Rose St B&B right away that we cannot take those 4 hours detour on an already long 525 miles journey on a motorcycle (we wouldn't have reached the B&B before very late night). This all happened 8 hours after I passed the "free cancelation" deadline (free until August 2nd, 5 days prior to out booking date). Jaime, however, informs me that I can cancel and if someone else books the room, she'll work something for me. I decide to cancel the booking since we are absolutely certain we cannot make it on time, I then get charged $172(!) and see the room becoming available on every major booking websites a couple of hours after my cancelation. On Wednesday August 4, the room isn't available anymore. I decide to message the business and enquire if the room has been rented and receive a negative answer. I keep on checking every day and no rooms are ever available for August 6 at The Rose St B&B. The week after, I ask again if the room had been rented and if I could get a "rain check" (I was thinking that my old mother could use that check and stay in Colorado during her next trip to USA). Jaime simply replied "Sorry, we don't offer this". According to the booking website, the owner either rented to room or "blocked" the room for renting thus collecting money without having to work. The owner/manager is a dishonest person, she lies to customers and runs very shady business practices. Avoid at all cost. read more

My wife and I chose Rose Street B&B on our first couples getaway since our boys were born. We had lofty expectations coming in, but it place exceeded them all! We're so thankful to have discovered this gem in such an affordable little mountain town. Firstly, this is a clean and professional place. Everything is neat, tidy, and fresh, yet also cozy and welcoming. While it has the feel of a well kept home, no staff (or pets ) actually live there. It's light years beyond the "room for rent" style B&Bs that have disappointed us in the past. Everything there is for the guests, down to the smallest of details, every courtesy and accommodation provided. Rustic Colorado charm seeps out of every seam and breakfast is so good you won't mind getting out of your comfy bed. Hotels are just lodging located near your destination. Rose Street B&B is both lodging AND the destination. We're in love with this place and the beautiful mining town it's nestled into. We will be back, and for much longer. We had a reservation that we had to cancel due to a death in our family. The owner charged us even though we called 60 hours prior to our reservation. She requires 72 hours no exceptions. We did not know of the death 72 hours prior. I offered proof of the death but the "owner" refused. There was nothing done to help us out in this time and no compassion shown. I would stay away from this place and would not stay there if you paid me. Owner states that we were rude but we were not. Our room was relatively comfortable, although our "private bathroom" was down the hall and around thecorner, so every time we needed to go to the restroom we had to go out of our room down the hall past everyone else's room and into a bathroom. That wouldn't have been a big deal and I probably wouldn't have even mentioned a review at all, but when we were checking out the host was extremely rude. As we were getting our stuff out of the space he mentioned partially that the house was closed and we needed to leave. Check out with 11 a.m. and this was about 11:20. We had gotten all of our things out of the room so he could clean it, and we're just finishing up in the dining room getting our things ready to go into the car. Great historic location to take a short stroll while visiting the towns little shops and restaurants. A memorable mention are the blossoming Lilac trees all over the town. I stayed at the Rose Street for one night before a long hike. I wish I could have stayed longer. I made a last minute booking, but Justin communicated with me about arrival time, etc. The Red Mountain Room with en suite bathroom was beautiful and comfortable. There were thoughtful extra touches such as handmade soaps, water glasses in the room, chocolates, and a personalized welcome message. Justin had recommendations about hiking and local restaurants. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone needing to stay in the Front Range. It was just one hour from the Denver airport, but a world away. read more

Unfortunately, we were not able to stay at this hotel so I cannot comment on the hotel itself but I am saddened to report my experience prior to check-in. My daughter and I are driving 10 hours tomorrow from Kansas City to Georgetown to celebrate her 16th birthday. Our plan is to hike our 1st 14er on her birthday, June 19. We planned to stay at Rose Street B&B. We are stopping for a break in Denver to have dinner with my nephew, a birthday dinner for my daughter which my nephew is planning. We will arrive in Georgetown at approximately 9pm. When I called to let the hotel know that we would have a late check-in, I was informed that we could not check-in past 7pm. The woman I spoke with suggested that we cancel our family dinner plans so that we could arrive on-time for check-in. After I confirmed that she was seriously telling me to cancel family dinner plans in order to check in by 7pm, I told her that I would not cancel family dinner plans but instead would need to cancel our reservation. She then told me that there is a 72hr cancellation policy so they would be charging my credit card regardless of whether I stayed at the hotel or not. I seriously can't believe that this hotel is still in business, given these policies. I totally appreciate and try to always support locally-owned and family-operated businesses but the service we received from this B&B is unbelievable. Please think twice before booking your reservation here. If my credit card is charged for my 3-day stay, despite cancelling 24 hour prior, my bank will be disputing the charge. Additional note: I appreciate the prompt reply regarding my review. As per the website for Rose Street B&B: "If you feel your arrival will not be during normally scheduled hours, please make prior arrangements with us. Standard check-in time is 3:00pm - 7:00pm." When I called to make arrangements for a late arrival and explained that we would be stopping in Denver for a family dinner, the person I spoke with did indeed suggest that I skip dinner in order to check in by 7pm. I was incredulous but didn't "yell at" anyone. I simply stated that I would need to find a different hotel. I do not intend to miss a 16th birthday dinner that my nephew is planning for my daughter. The person informed me that she is at work at 5:30am and works "15 hour days". I can sympathize with long workdays; perhaps this business can hire an assistant to accommodate guests who need to check in after 7pm. I am sure there are many other instances (snow storms, traffic, delayed flights, etc.) that require late check-ins. read more

I took a family friends' 15 year old daughter to stay 1 night. This was my first time staying in a bed a breakfast. We arrived at about 5 pm and left at 6 am the next day to climb Mt Bierstadt. Jamie gave us a tour of the home and took us to our room and also recommended some nice restaurants nearby for dinner. We drove up guanella pass and had dinner then turned in early for bed. We woke in the morning, changed clothes, and when I went in to use the bathroom I noticed a small decoration that was hanging about 6" over the faucet, had fallen off the wall and was resting on the back of the faucet. I carefully set it aside on the counter, brushed my teeth and we left for our hike. When i got to the trailhead, i noticed my rain jacket was not in my bag. I had set it on the bed and mistakingly left it behind. I went on to hike and figured I would stop on my way back down in town and pick it up. As i did not have cell service up on the pass, as soon as i was in range i texted jamie letting her know i had left it there. She said it wasn't there as i was pulling up. I got out of my car and checked my bag again as she stood on the porch, i asked again and she said she didn't find it. As i was driving out of town i texted her and said perhaps it got mixed up in the bedding and was in the laundry and if she found it I would pay her to mail it to me as it has sentimental value. She said she didn't find it and then added that she was charging me a $40 repair fee for the decoration that fell off the wall and said she was upset I didn't tell her about it. It was 6 am, the decoration was not broken and had simply fell off the wall so i didn't see the urgency to text or call at that time in the morning. Then after being gone 6 hours hiking, it simply slipped my mind to mention it. I have owned my own business for 14 years and would never treat a customer this way. I gave 2 stars because the house was beautiful, and it was kind of her to leave a little to go breakfast for us. I will he disputing the $40 repair fee especially because it's obvious she kept my expensive rain jacket that I left behind. read more

This week my friend and I had the honor of being the first guests at the recently reopened Rose Street B&B. We were warmly welcomed by the new owners. The house, an 1882 building, is decorated to bring the charm of the old with the function of modern amenities. We enjoyed sitting and reading in the library and the parlor in front of the fireplace. Breakfast was served in the dining room and was really delicious each morning. The third sitting room has comfortable chairs and a TV for enjoyment. From the foyer through each room, we felt warmth and welcoming; by the way, the settees are deceptively comfortable. The B&B IS within walking distance of good restaurants and charming shops where we were treated with respect and kindness. I felt at home and at peace there. I can't wait to return. read more

Jamie, the owner, set up an amazing night for my fiancèe and I. I planned out a proposal at a nearby restaurant, where we would end up here for the night. She showed us our room and around the house, which is gorgeous. The living room is full of space and has an old record player (also hooks up to modern settings) with the kitchen directly behind it. The dining room is open enough for 6 or more to comfortably eat and relax. The Guanella Pass Suite is incredibly intimate and cozy. Jamie dressed the room with chocolates, champagne, candles and roses for us when we returned from dinner, where she initially showed us the room without the settings in place. We woke up to homemade breakfast, with bacon, waffles, candied apples and a wide selection of juices and coffee. The place is affordable considering what you get, and I've easily seen people pay way more for way less accommodations and settings. It could not have been more perfect, in such a cozy setting. read more
