My husband surprised me for my pre-birthday weekend with two nights stay here at the Cabins. The cabins are beautifully decorated, have fireplaces, heated bathroom tiles, private and public hot tubs, etc. (I'm not 100% sure if they all do, but the Chicken Coop Cabin does). We felt at home and super relaxed immediately. The owner/groundskeeper, Mark (not sure what he is), was super friendly, funny and very helpful. He made us feel very welcome and let me FEED AND PET DEER one morning. It was an amazing experience! We've come to the Country Road Cafe many weekend mornings before staying at the cabins, and now we came to find out that breakfast was included in our stay. Added bonus for sure! Mark even brought it to our cabin for us, and they threw in fancy coffee. We love, love, LOVE the cabins and are already planning on spending our anniversary weekend here. We're hooked! P.S. Whoever that bridezilla from Boulder who wrote that bad review is, she needs to get that sizeable stick out of her butt and learn to live!

Five of us drove in for a concert an Avett Brothers concert at Red Rocks. After a twelve hour drive we hit the hot tub right away! The setting was breathtaking. A small mountain stream bubbled past our cabin and hot tub. The hot tub was partially shaded which met both my need for shade and my husbands need for sun. Each morning we enjoyed (hands down) the most delicious, flavorful, and creative breakfast that I have ever had offered at a b&b served on the porch. (which was delivered at the location and time of our choice). The owners run a cafe and the entire breakfast menu was available to choose from. I loved the Big Greek Omelet and the Steak and Truffle hash! We stayed in the huckleberry cabin and were very comfortable. The beds and bedding were soft and cozy and I loved the inter design of the cabin. We prepared a few meals and used the outdoor grill one night. We didn't take advantage of the made to order wood fired pizzas that were available but may try them next time. The owners were very accommodating and more than willing to supply anything we needed even information about the best place to watch the sunrise and set. One of the best parts of our stay was being joined for breakfast by a young deer. She wandered right past a neighboring group who was also enjoying breakfast outside their cabin and quietly ate trees and plants right next to us. Even though we were right off the main road it was quiet and peaceful and we were able to enjoy nature like only colorado can offer. The only complaint I could possibly have was that the Internet was very difficult to stay connected to and keep a strong enough signal to use it was nearly impossible. If you plan one getting any work done you may need to find another option for using the Internet. Also note that the cabin we stayed in wasn't air conditioned which wasn't a problem because each night a cool breeze filled out rooms but it could become very uncomfortable if it would be unseasonable hot. Loved it here and we are already making plans to return!

This place is no doubt the most magical place to stay around Evergreen. My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in the Bootlegger Barn for our anniversary. From the very beginning we just fell in love with the details of the property and our cabin. It was impeccably designed and contained all the the amenities you could possibly need. We spent our stay in complete privacy, playing board games and cards that were in the cabin, watching movies, sitting on the back porch sipping our coffee watching the deer graze less than 20 feet away. The breakfasts are delivered to your room in the morning and they are delicious. Hands down best pancakes I've ever eaten! If you're looking for a private, magical, romantic place to relax in do not hesitate to stay here!!

Perfect little cabin for us with the sounds of nature just outside our door. The ladies could not be any sweeter Stay includes breakfast and when they say "Holy Cow" they mean it. Way more than one person can eat at once But it was delicious and we'll try to eat the leftovers for lunch. The cabin is a one bedroom cabin with a sitting room and kitchen. Beautifully done Definitely recommend if you're looking for a quiet place to chill and enjoy Evergreen Colorado

Instead we slept in, and received the most amazing breakfast in the state (from Country Road Cafe!) to our front porch.

We contacted him and said we needed to cancel and he wouldn't allow it even though he was able to rebook the property. He is VERY familiar with how to get out of refunding your money and turned into a complete jerk as we had to scramble to find other accommodations as we couldn't get to his remote cabin. He obviously has done this many times before as he has all the right documents and small print that makes it impossible to get your money back.

I have rented many cottages, cabins, homeaway/vrbo type rentals while traveling and unfortunately, this is my first negative experience. So negative in fact, it motivated me to open up a yelp account. 1. You are expected to wash the bed linens prior to check-out. We did but, not to the owners liking. He charged us $40 claiming we ruined the mattress cover. 2. Yard surrounding the unit was littered with dog feces. I travel with my 5 year old son & my two dogs and don't want them encountering dog feces.. 3. The owner kept our $100 cleaning deposit claiming we didn't leave the rental as we found it when I know 100% that we left the unit (and yard), the dishes, the carpets, etc cleaner & tidier than we found it. When asked to provide a list of how the rental was not properly cleaned, he would not provide one. 4. Waaaay out in the middle of nowhere. Takes a long time (& gas) to get there. The price is great but consider what you'll pay in gasoline to get there. I suggest finding closer to downtown. The drive isn't worth it. I suspect, based on our experience, that this is the scheme the owner uses to keep cleaning deposits. In truth, he should have paid us to stay at this unit because we cleaned the cabin with more attention to detail than any cleaning service could have. We spent the entire morning cleaning up not because of the deposit but because we wanted to respectfully follow the rules. Unfortunately, Mr. Carter doesn't have the same ethics.

They've taken great care of our property and tenants, and I've always felt confident knowing things are handled promptly and professionally. Most of my interactions are with Darlene, and she has been wonderful -- friendly, attentive, and always quick to keep me updated on anything that comes up. It's clear she genuinely cares about doing a good job. Eric, the owner, is equally professional and easy to work with, which really sets the tone for the whole company. I've seen mixed reviews, but my own experience has been nothing but excellent. I'm grateful for the consistent communication and the peace of mind they provide.

The biggest issue was how she/Bear Paw handled a serious concern we had due to my disability. When I requested to discuss potential accommodations with her she literally suggested we move out (granted, without penalty) and "move on" (and later told us again we could "move on" which frankly just felt rude). I'm not sure her refusal to explore accommodations in good faith was technically legal under the Fair Housing Act. I also wish she had offered/been willing to measure our neighbor's decibel levels (the thing that caused my disability-related issue) to make sure they were even in compliance with Jefferson County's laws. What I would describe as her overall flippant attitude was hurtful and if she had done a little more to help us we perhaps could have been spared a nightmarish living situation. Even if, for example, landlord-provided soundproofing ultimately wouldn't have resolved the disability issue, it still would have meant a lot to me if I had been met with empathy instead of what in my opinion was disdain and annoyance. There's more I could say, but to sum it up, both my partner and I felt as if our interactions with Bear Paw were generally unpleasant - which did not feel great as we were forking over half of our paycheck every month. It was a little baffling considering I think we were always polite and cooperative. We are grateful to have been let out of our lease early but it's safe to say that our experience was far from ideal.
