Worst location for a restaurant customer service needs a tune up along with the food. Never again!!

Slow service, poor quality food, over priced for what is on the menu. The servers are very friendly, but it appears they are understaffed.

There's a new diner in town and it's definitely worth a try. Their breakfasts are very good, definitely go for the deep fried home fries - they're fantastic. The "classic" breakfast is two eggs, toast home fries and your choice of meat - plenty of food to get you rolling. The wait staff is well trained and check back often to fill your coffee and check on the meal. The entire restaurant has been remodeled and really looks great. By the way - the burgers are huge and the French Fries are really good too. read more

My parents and I stopped into the Highland Restaurant after catching a lacrosse game at MCHS. This was my very first time visiting the restaurant -- so, I was looking forward to our dinner. I had an extremely disappointing experience at the Highland restaurant tonight. The service was incredibly slow, and my party of three waited nearly 15-20 minutes just to get our drinks. When our food finally arrived, it was cold and poorly prepared -- and the advertised dishes on the menu were not complete. For example, I ordered a roast beef sandwich with chips and a pickle. The plate came with the sandwich only because the restaurant was out of chips. Also, after a lengthy wait for our meals, we had to wait even longer to eat because we were not provided silverware to use. Overall, the poor service and wait times ruined what should have been a special night out with my parents. I am not sure who is to blame; however, the restaurant has a lot of kinks to work out. I recall my own experience waiting tables. A restaurant like that should have hired help to bus tables and clean them, the waitresses should have place settings set as soon as tables are cleaned, and also should spend time following-up with customers to ensure everything is acceptable. Initially, I was angry with the service. The anger subsided and I transitioned to pity for the waitresses. They should not be responsible for all the issues but I am sure they do carry the weight of all the complaints. Improve Highland. I hope the next time I visit -- if there is a next time -- that your timing and customer service improves. read more

Our party of eight popped on a Wednesday morning for breakfast and were greeted by friendly accommodating staff and seated quickly, despite the size of the party. Fresh brewed coffee and a variety of breakfast items were ordered and delivered in a timely manner. The food was delicious and the service is outstanding. I would definitely stop in again. read more

Went there for Valentine's Day. Never order the specials but this time we decided to try them. $18 for each meal, I ate three bites of my meal, and my Husband ate a few bites of his Shrimp Scampi when he stated he couldn't eat another bite and he was nauseous. I could smell the seafood as he tried to scoop up another forkful and it made me nauseous. We left there 10 min after receiving our meals and my Husband was sick for two days with food poisoning. I ate here at least 10 times and finally convinced myself to not go back. It started out good but continued to fail. I am not a complainer, but they comped my meal once. My over easy eggs were over cooked and with 10 people in the seated I gave up on a new portion after 25 minutes. I watched them comp bad meals on numerous occasions. My final business I arrived on a slow night and both waitstaff were visiting with each other and every table was dirty. When I finally got to sit i ordered a diet soda, but both staff were busy chatting with their friends. I walked out and haven't returned. I sincerely wanted it to be good. I stopped in for breakfast. I was greeted immediately by the staff with a friendly hello, and told I could sut anywhere. The waitress followed behind me gave me a menu, and immediately took my drink order. Upon her return, I asked her about the specials, and decided to pass on the menu and go with one of the specials which was two eggs, homefries (your choice of deepfried or griddle, with or without onions), and choice of toast. Also, I asked if I could order the meatball sub to go, as the menu states the meatballs are made in house, and it was getting close to the breakfast/lunch switch, which came with commercial French fries. From order to kitchen, the return was about eight minutes, and everything was prepared perfectly. I ordered my eggs poached, and perfectly prepared. Its very nice inside, with many of the collectibles of the owner adorning the entire restaurant. In addition, there is a glass dessert cabinet, filled with many cakes and pies. I took home a slice of the layered raspberry cake, with cream filling and frosting covered with white chocolate curls. It was fresh and delicious. I've yet to try the meatball sub. I was very pleased from behinning to end with this meal. I mentioned that my grandparents would take me to this restaurant as a child, and she said her grandparents did too after church. read more
