My husband and I were there sunday 8/10 for breakfast we walked in and no air conditioning, waiter asked us if we wanted something to drink and gave us menus brought coffee and no interaction for half an hour. Very poor customer service. There explanation was it was busy! I think they only had 10 tables and there were 2 staff waiting on tables, and another cleaning off tables. Not good at multitasking. We paid for our coffee and went next door to downtown diner. Excellent service and great food! read more

What a great breakfast! My egg sandwich was called a Flaming Rooster, and had melted Monterey Jack and Sriracha mixed in. We also ordered an extra butterscotch pancake as our "dessert". So good! To add to our indulgent meal, the staff brought us a complimentary sweet dish called Sooji halwa - which was a semolina pudding with pistachios. Great service, nice vibe. read more

Breakfast the most important meal of the day, so find a good breakfast place its important. This qualifies as one, at least in my opinion. The food here was good. First the eggs, they were as usual nothing to say. Second the home fries, they were... amazing!! They were crunchy, they were balanced, and they tasted so Gooood! Finally the coffee and pancakes. Tasty and flavorful food beautifully presented. The menu is not extensive and centers around scrambled eggs. Very nice place, run by a sweet and courteous pair. A little pricier than the next door Downtown Diner. But don't come before 8 am. They do not open before then. We tried around 7:10 on Thursday and at 8:00 on Saturday. They were closed on Thursday with no one inside and were just opening on Saturday at 8. read more

We were a little iffy at first about this place because they have a small menu, but we were insanely wrong because this is some of the best breakfast food I have ever had! I got an omelette with home fries and the home fries were seasoned to perfection. The omelette came with little chives on top and every plate came with fruit. The person I went with got eggs, bacon, a pancake, and home fries. Every single thing we ordered was just the best breakfast food I've had in a long time. Plus, the service was phenomenal, everyone was very nice and accommodating. The restaurant has very cute, cabin-like decor. This place should absolutely not be overlooked, a must try when in lake placid. Extremely rude. We walked into an empty restaurant with our 3 young children and my brother, his wife and 1 year old (we are both mixed couples and understanding the concerns with covid and regulations we aren't unreasonable about separating) Despite offering to sit at separate tables the server told us that she couldn't accommodate us regardless of there being an abundance tables because she needed the space for "other" customers. Not certain why they would turn away paying customers who truly wanted to help support local business but can't saying anything more than disappointed. Also the space itself looked dated and filthy. If I could get a seat I would give a good rating but I was there 9 am busy time. 3 workers passed by us within 10 mins in the front waiting area. They all tried to avoid eye contact and just pass by us like we were invisible people. If one of them just say "I'll be right with you" or "hello". None of these greeting. I get it's busy hours but it's basic human courtesy. Especially, you all are in serving business. Get it right from the foundation before serving nice food. I just walked up and found another place in a few mins that serves the same decent breakfast. When I went inside the restaurant 2/3 of the people were anxiously waiting for their food. If you want to spend 2 hours eating breakfast, wasting you're valuable morning time, then this farm house is the perfect restaurant. read more

Free public parking across the street, 60s-70's music mix, not many tables. They take credit cards, but won't split checks. Today the machine wasn't working, so cash only. Waiter was very accommodating and had a friendly smile. They didn't have any sugar-free syrup, so they served me their "Barkeater" without sprinkled sugar on top (at my request) and soft butter, the latter of which it turns out I didn't need. My dish was two thick, soft slices of French toast sandwiched around blueberries, blueberry jam and cream cheese (all mixed together). It seemed like the sweet and fruity epicurean cousin of a grilled cheese sandwich. It was a rare and wonderful delight, appropriately groomed with an orange slice, a blackberry and a strawberry. My wife enjoyed their oatmeal with a generous medley of strawberries, blueberries and blackberries. She thought their coffee was on par with some of the better, well known coffee chains. read more

My friend and I came here for a quick morning bite to eat. The staff was SO friendly. We ordered the flapjacks with a side of hash browns. When I tell you these were the BEST pancakes we had ever tasted, I mean it. The syrup tasted gourmet and the hash browns were on a different level of flavor. The whole experience felt original. Missed out on this place on my first trip to Lake Placid, so I made sure to dine here the second time around - and I'm glad I did. The food was excellent. Got the three egg omelette, and did it with tomatoes and double the goat cheese. It was delicious, as were the home fries. The food came with a nice little helping of fresh fruit, which was a nice touch. Coffee was okay. I really came for the food though, and it did not disappoint. Friendly staff and cute atmosphere. We came here for breakfast during a trip to Lake Placid and had a great experience. The atmosphere was cozy and the staff was extremely friendly. It was busy the morning we went and they did seem to be a little under staffed. However, the staff moved very quickly and did not make us feel as if we were a burden. We also ordered the cheese treat and it completely stole the show. Feta, spices, and jalapenos over fresh arugula, scooped onto toasted bread. It is one of those dishes where you keep saying just one more bite until suddenly it is gone. For dinner we tried the shrimp tacos, which have quite a reputation. As Texas people we were a little unsure about the pineapple salsa, but it works. Bright and just sweet enough. The slaw is mellow and tangy and ties everything together in a way that feels thoughtful rather than trendy. The fish and fries surprised us the most. Easily the best fish and chips we have had in years. Real haddock with a light crisp fry and a rich house made tartar sauce that does not play second fiddle. Chance said he usually only likes fish and chips for the fried part, but here he actually liked the fish itself. That tells you everything. The fries are the kind you keep reaching for long after you are full. Our teen ordered the burger and it disappeared before we could negotiate a bite. Former picky eaters do not lie. We tried the Julian cocktail, which drinks like a confident mai tai. The riesling missed the mark a bit. Next time we would go for the sauvignon blanc or the house white. Service was great from start to finish--attentive and accompanied by a smile. Tip on parking: It's metered street parking and can be tough to find a spot, so give yourself some time to park before your meal! The owner of this place is homophobic. My husband ripped his brand new down jacket on a nail in the door frame. The owners response word for word, and the whole place heard it, was "get your faggy jacket out of here. Get the f**k out". He then repeated it saying "get your faggy jacket out of here- I did you a favor". I'm sickened. No one should support this business.
