WiFi is free and easy to use. The library staff are available, friendly and will help you get started. You will sign in, if needed, with them. They can explain how it works and if there is a time limit. Weekday hours: open at 10am and close at 8pm. I was here to work... but I found a large selection of interesting magazines and large print books (so easy on the eyes- try one! ) Yoga one day a week and kids story time; there are also other programs throughout the month. The Wixom Public Library is a modern, well apportioned library…read more The librarians here are experts at communication, library science and customer service.  They take an active part in the community and involve themselves in the daily operations and routines of the library. The building is attractive and easy to get into .  Once inside the library is laid out in a logical fashion and it is relatively easy to get around and find and use the materials available. The place is suitable for handicapped access.  The librarians are pleasant.  The place is kept neat and clean and the materials are orderly and easily traversed. There is plenty of parking outside.  The parking lot is well lit and kept clean and clear throughout all seasons.  This is definitely a place for research, learning and getting work done for children, teens and adults.  They have plenty of entertainment materials for all ages as well.

There is a bathroom nearby with a changing station. The staff that day were friendly and very helpful in looking up books for me in the adult section. I mentioned it to both of the staff members, and they just excused it away - "probably worked in a factory"......"hard of hearing".... without asking him to either lower his voice or continue his conversation outside. I did get a response from an email to a supervisor, however. Hopefully, that scenario won't happen again.

I was…read morechecking out a few kid books that day and the book never made it into my possession, but I didn't realize until I got home. I called my home library and they said it wasn't going to be a problem since they would write a note in my file. However, when they and I called Springfield Township Library, they would not budge and said that it was my responsibility. How can I be responsible for a book that I never received?!?! Very dissatisfied with the library's rigid policy and lack of empathy.

This Branch is conveniently located on the north side of the township offering residents a very nice option to the main branch without the 30 - 40 minute round trip travel time. The building itself is very clean and modern and is very well organized in its layout. Relative to media, this branch has a large collection of books, news papers, periodicals, educational/entertainment DVD videos, educational/entertainment CD's and audio books. One of my favorite areas is the DVD area where they carry new release movies that are available for FREE to West Bloomfield residents with their library card. Also their are many computers available to access the internet through the use of their library card that provide lower income folks and people who want a quiet place to study the ability to access the internet free of charge. Lastly, this facility is very kid friendly with several play areas dedicated to children and a weekly story time hour program that we usually take our Grandkids to (big hit for our grandkids). Overall West Acres is a outstanding library that is one of the gems of the township that I highly recommend you check it out if you are in the area. Five stars.

So I'm definitely biased in writing this review, because I'm a former employee (page) of the…read morelibrary - however, I believe my last day was in 2007 or 2008 or so. Not as big as the main branch, for sure, but if you live up in the WB/Waterford area, it's worth a visit. I remember how it looked before the facelift, too (the 2000 one, mentioned below) and it's come quite a ways since then. Staff is helpful (again, I'm biased ...) and IIRC, there is plenty of seating room with a few cozy corners as well - the magazine area especially has some nice seating areas. If you live up in this area, it's worth it to go here rather than the main library, though if you're looking for meeting space or a bit more room, I'd recommend the Main. Overall, though, a very nice, smaller library.
