When the transmission on my 2004 Dodge RAM 3500 disintegrated on hwy 104 about 15 miles west of Conchas Dam on a Sunday, I knew my options might be limited, especially considering I was carrying a truck camper! We called to have our car towed from 30 miles North of Las Vegas back to Santa Fe. They arrived in less than an hour. Stan picked us up in a brand new flat bed tow truck. He was delightful. He took us back to their office where we changed drivers. Angelo added a trailer with another vehicle and then towed us all the way home. It was great. We had a lovely conversation all the way. They couldn't have been any better. Service, professionalism, the total experience was positive. The price was considerably lower than the other estimate we had received. Car stopped running on I25 - 40 miles to Las Vegas NM - basically in the middle of no where!!! Thank God USAA called Highlands Towing. We were blessed with Steve, the owner, showing up. He easily put our SUV (with pups safely inside) on the flat bed and quickly hooked up the tow for our RV. His tow truck is top of the line! Good solid Company. Good service, during a stressful situation for me. Reasonable price considering all that was already wrong with the 30' camper trailer that blew 2 tires. The rims were chewed up and it was stuck in the mud up to the axil. It was leaning 35° down the mountain. I mean there was smoke and it was really scary. These guys really saved the day. I had to locate two tires and rims on Father's Day and the guy that was going to help with the tires got called into work. They helped with the tires and towed me about 80 miles up the mountain into a difficult spot. They literally saved the day and are angels on earth and kings among men. Breaking down is always stressful, especially when you are in the middle of nowhere. Such was the case when we were cruising down I-25, music going, dog snoozing and cruise control on and my throttle got stuck.... all of a sudden we were going a million miles an hour... two heart attacks later we coasted to the side of the road and the car refused to start. So next came the call to insurance.. do we have roadside??....YES! Call made... rescue planned. We settled in to the idea of having to sit there for hours, given that we were in the middle of a place called Springer and a gas station town called wagon mound.. you get the idea BF nowhere. Within 15 minutes of getting off the phone with the insurance companies main dispatch for towing we get a call from Highlands... they were on the way and, despite the insurance company giving the incorrect location, they knew exactly where we were. 20 mins go by and there they were!!! They were so kind, understanding (we had a dog with us) and quick!!! Loaded up and on the road in less than an hour. We were safely dropped at a mechanics shop and even given a good dinner recommendation. We can't say enough nice things about them and their service. When in a stressful situation like that, it's the kindness and patience of those commissioned to help that makes all the difference. Excellent, prompt, courteous AAA service, for a jump start for my car, week of 2-27-2017. Don't know how or why, but emergency flashers of locked car were reported to me by neighbor, late evening. They must have been on for hours--not enough battery charge left to turn the engine over at all. Not in any hurry, so called AAA in the morning; they gave me an ETA of service person, and he was there 5 minutes earlier. He was done in 5 minutes, and gave me some helpful tips on charging up the battery. Best AAA service I've ever had. (AAA is overly proud of their roadside service. My experience, 4 calls in 17 years, is that sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. This was the outstanding best.) read more

We hit a deer last night on 25 at 75-80mph. The van is in bad shape and us two women were shaken up, stranded and in need of help late on a Sunday night. Reuben came to our rescue. He was such a genuine person, a wonderful help and a calm presence. We shared a nice ride from north of Las Vegas to Santa Fe talking. Both he and this company are top notch in my book! I had a horrible experience with this company. I had locked my keys in my car one evening and was having trouble getting them out myself. I called Highland Wrecker and they told me it would be about an hour, they took my name and phone number. While waiting I continued to try to get my car unlocked and low and behold I did. I called immediately and was unable to reach the locksmith. Then I called the office and told them I didn't need the locksmith any more, they didn't know what to do and said I needed to talk to the person who was coming. While i was still on the phone with the office, I received ac all from the lock smith who was nearing my location. I told him I had just gotten the car open and asked what needed to be done, assuming I would at least pay for gas ~15 miles each way, and a half hour of their time. He didn't know and said he needed to call his boss, at the office... I told him to just call me back when he knew what to do. I didn't receive a call for about 25 minutes and was wondering what was up. Then my phone indicated I had a voice mail, though it had not rang. I listened to it and it was the owner of this business telling me he had called the police because he couldn't get ahold of me. I was shocked and called back immediately. I told him I had every intention of paying a fair price for his employees time and then asked what legal backing he had to call the police. He continued threatening me with the police after I told him I would pay the 90$ for a couple gallons of gas and a half hour of his employees time. No lock smith service had be provided. I asked him if the police were coming to my home and what I would be charged for seeing as no crime had been committed at any point in time. He said he could do what he wanted and he didn't have to call them and tell them not to come if he didn't want to, this was after I had paid him mind you. I ended up telling him if I had to deal with the police at all over this, that I would take some kind of legal action against him for extortion, slander, false claims etc. He said he didn't take kind to threats and would make sure the police came. I called the state police and they said no one had called with such claims and if they had there wouldn't be much/anything they could do. This man is despicable. Threatening a customer? read more

This company came out on 10/09/13 when my RV broke down I-25 right outside of Wagon Mound I was impressed with this company when the driver presented himself in a professional manner. He did his job a 110 percent treating my RV like his own and thinking about everything including taking his time to remove my mud flap so it would not get damaged by dragging it 40 miles. I truilly would tell anyone broke down around Las Vegas, NM demand this company to come and pick you up. He did not put one scratch on my 37 foot 300,000 dollar RV. read more
