Love this studio location. I love going to Highland yoga for my hot yoga fix and this studio is no different. Firstly the studio location is fantastic. In Atlanta parking can prove to be difficult or very costly garages, but this location is in the Madison Yards complex and offers ample parking. There's a free parking garage directly across from the entry right next to the AMC. And if you'd like afterwards its not too far of a walk from the beltline and some brunch options. In regards to the space itself, it is very clean and offers lots of natural sunlight. The studio is spacious enough but can get pretty packed during their busy times. If you are new to Highland yoga they do have great newcomer specials to give it a try. This studio is also on Classpass which also seems to be a great value if you're interested in trying different classes and locations. read more

I always worry about parking whenever I go somewhere so I'd thought I'd begin by informing you that they do not have a parking lot. There is street parking, but if you're like me and you're bad at parallel parking I would get there early. I've enjoyed visiting this studio the past two times I went. I love doing yoga in a heated room versus just a regular room. However, I think the instructors here are hit or miss. The first time I went, the instructor paid zero attention to newcomers or the room as a whole. She spoke quickly and it was difficult to hear over the music. The second time was better, probably because it was a slower paced class. I think they called it "stretch and restore". They used essential oils and it was very calming and relaxing. Both of those times I went here via ClassPass (5 credits). I'm not sure I'd spend $108 a month here to practice, but I may try their one month unlimited for new students ($30) to see if I'd even go enough to make it worth it. read more

I have been to a lot of yoga studios in my day. Actually had a Class Pass membership before Covid hit so I really enjoyed bopping around the different facilities and trying all different kinds of workouts. Hands down Highland Yoga's hot yoga classes are my favorite. They always have so many people that inspire and create beautiful energy in the space. I love and appreciate each of the teachers and I am so grateful for their musical selection that puts me in the proper mindset to do flow yoga/my own little dance party routine. The class was a bit fast paced but the instructor took the time to correct my form and came by and practiced the moves near me so I could get the hang of it. I don't normally post on these sites and I am not a "yogi" by any stretch of the imagination. However, this place opened in walking distance to my house and I was like "why not?" It has been the most consistent of all of my exercise programs in years. I honestly go four to six days a week even if I am not feeling well. The teachers are really caring from Courtenay to Caron to Elspeth, Alex, Sarah and Lisa all have helped me not fall over and hit my face. I've only tried one session here. As a newbie I was welcomed by the instructor. I believe bis name was Nick. I've always wanted to try yoga so I gave it a shot. Online it says the class was beginner friendly but I'm not sure i agreed lol...Luckily I watch yoga videos on YouTube, so I understood the terms and instructions given. I worked up a sweat for sure. And I feel safe there, being a slightly immune compromised individual trying to stay active during a pandemic. I've tried a few different yoga studios over the last few months, but Highland Yoga is the best I've found so far! I've always been a little afraid to try yoga classes (for fear of being really terrible at it or looking ridiculous), but the instructors at Highland Yoga do a great job of making everyone feel comfortable, welcome, and free to go at their own pace. I was a little worried at first because this studio does not offer any beginners classes(they're almost all listed as all levels classes), but it turns out there was absolutely nothing to worry about! They also offer towels, mats, and blocks for you to use during the classes. There are a few instructors whose classes I haven't attended, but all of the ones I've taken classes from offer modifications (both easier and more challenging) on poses throughout the class. Try a few different instructors across both locations; although they're all listed the same way on their schedule, I think some instructors teach a more challenging course than others (they really are all great, though) One thing I would like to see is 1 or 2 more Yin classes each week, instead of just Sunday nights, but this class is great at both locations. I'm now two months in to regular visits to Highland Yoga---I'm glad I stuck with it and I plan to continue! read more

Let us all just acknowledge that power yoga is stupid. Or, rather, it's not really yoga; there's zero attention to form or precision, and lots of people are just flinging themselves into yoga-ish positions to a mellow-electronica soundtrack, potentially getting very little out of their practice or even hurting themselves. This is the m.o. at Highland Yoga; if you are interested in yoga as a deeper physical practice rather than as mere calisthenics, you will find this place quite frustrating. Having said that, I practice here. I do so partly because it's super-convenient to my home, and also because I really love doing yoga in a heated room. There are other merits: the space itself is lovely and airy; the sound system is excellent (though I wish they didn't crank it up so loud, as it's hard to hear the teacher sometimes); and a few of the teachers (Courtenay especially) are sweet and conscientious. Others are kind of cold, pay zero attention to the room, and call out the exact same sequence every time, quickly. So boring! So: pros and cons. I would not recommend this place for novice yogis, unless you're going to be getting some individual instruction first. But if you know what you're getting into, it can be a nice enough place to practice. read more

So, of course, I'm going to write my very first 2018 review for a yoga studio because...resolutions. Anyway, deep in my heart I consider myself to be a yogi but it doesn't always show in my actions because while I love yoga and see the benefits I haven't quite committed to practicing regularly. But new year, new me right? Anyways, I decided to start my new year off with a drop in class at Highland Yoga. Courtenay was the instructor and he led a pretty impressive class. I loved my entire experience. He was great and the atmosphere in the studio was so relaxing and meditative. You would be surprised how many studios just provide a space for your mat and that's it. Highland Yoga has everything you think of to not only get your yoga on but also feed your soul. The space smells lovely and is so relaxing I really loved it. Now I just need to commit. I'm an old guard Highland Yoga supporter of their other site up in Virginia Highlands, and this location brings all that is wonderful about that space down to Grant Park. Living in East Atlanta Village, it's probably a pretty similar distance for me to go to either location, but as anyone who lives south of the 20 knows, it's sooooooooo much more pleasant to go east/west than to have to brave Moreland to go north/south. That being said, this location is WAAAAAY more convenient for me. And the location is lovely: right across the street from the newly renovated Ormond-Grant Park, beautiful upstairs-lofty practice space complete with patio that overlooks park, two blocks from Grant Park, and soon to have a mediterranean restaurant in the same development. It's super cool, super friendly, super neighborhoody yoga that fits in perfectly in Grant Park. The studio itself is the best in town, hands down. The teachers are knowledgable, the classes balance good vinyasa workouts with the mindfulness we love about yoga, and the vibe is professional (i.e. very clean and very well-run) while still being laid back and comfortable. Can't say enough about Highland Yoga Grant Park. The place has changed my life for the better, and this new location is only making things better. read more

I need to go back there. You absolutely must shower after this class or you are a complete monster. I love Highland Yoga & the community they have created!!!! I have gained physical and mental strength since I purchased a membership in May of 2017. I absolutely love the Monday and Wednesday's at 7:30pm with Georgia. Her gentle yet firm voice makes me feel like I can hold that low boat pose with a smile for just a minute longer! I am a big fan of this studio. Last January I sampled about 15 different yoga studios in Atlanta and this one took the cake. I especially like the Grant Park location. Warning: Its HARD. Often times newbies cant finish their first class. It took me at least 4 months to be able to go through a class without taking a significant break (and I still take breaks after 10 months of classes). But its so worth it and you'll get better if you keep going. TJ, Georgia, Tracy, and Inna are my favorite instructors but all of the instructors are great. If you are looking for a traditional yoga studio, you may be disappointed. Its good to come with a foundation because the classes move fast, but beginners are certainly welcome and encouraged! I've gone from not being able to hold myself up in plank pose or updog, to being able to do dozens of pushups. Poses that I thought were impossible on day one, are now my warm up. You will definitely improve and see a difference. People are getting ripped. There are tons of class times to fit around busy schedules and its great that you can get a class anywhere around town. The only downside is the price. I like the small business aspect (even though they are expanding exponentially) but it definitely feels like a studio for the wealthy. I pay six months up front because its the best bang for your buck (going 3 times a week equals about $7/$8 per class) but it certainly hurts the bank. I would love to try their workshops and online but they arent included in memberships so you have to pay extra. read more

I had a great first visit to Highland Yoga last Tuesday evening! I am new to the yoga world & Charlotte's beginners class was perfect! She had a great playlist that was relaxing yet fun. She made everyone feel relaxed & I felt like I could go at my own pace without looking like an idiot. She wants the best out of everyone's experience & I love that. She ended the session with a cold washcloth on our foreheads that smelled of essential oils (love that!). She then read an awesome couple of sentences written by herself that was spot on to what I am going through in my own life. I would recommend her classes to anyone!! read more
