This was a great yoga class! The instructor was friendly and knew what she was doing, and how to help everyone individually. This was more of a whole in the wall yoga studio compared to other nearby ones. They had mats you can use and blocks to use which was great. Get their early if you want to pick your own spot! It was a little crowded but not uncomfortable. The music was good and so was the ambiance. I recommend! read more

This review is wayyyy overdue but this place is fantastic!! It was my first visit and I loved it. I'm no stranger to hot/ bikram yoga so I've tried a few studios in my day. I'm not a "yogi" but somewhere between noncommittal yoga fan to intermediate practitioner. I went to the Sunday community class. The instructor was on his A game...Richard is his name I think? Anyway, it was the perfect flow combination where I felt both relaxed yet worked at the same time. Richard's voice was soothing af -he probably should consider asmr- and his music playlist was everythingggg. I love Stellar Power Yoga! I've been to more than 10 classes and haven't been disappointed once. The classes are warm but not hot. So far most of the classes have focused on stretching vs a vigorous flow, which is great for me after a long day in the office. I like that they accept my Classpass and are locally owned. I had to wonderful opportunity to take part in a yoga class here and I must say that while I have not practiced yoga in almost a year, this was the best way to get back into it. Located in a shopping center at the corner of Paces Ferry and Cobb Pkwy, Stellar Power is tucked away between a restaurant and a nail shop. From the time I walked in the door, I felt as though all the troubles in my world simply melted away. Maybe it was the lavender scent or maybe it was Miriam's calming spirit or the dim lights and candles. I'm not sure but I do know that it was nice to simply relax and regroup and focusing my intentions on my mental wellness. Miriam is an awesome instructor and I love the atmosphere. She's not pushy and truly allows you to meet yourself where you are and to not be afraid to try yoga. She normally does hot yoga class but I was part of a mentoring group that brought their mentees here for the Beyond Me Yoga class that she hosts for teens, it was nice to brush up on the basics of yoga. I had initially started prenatal yoga at month 7 of my pregnancy with Stellar Power Yoga because I was having major breathing issues and had body pains. Literally from the first secession I was already breathing better(I used to gasp for air while sleeping). I did the prenatal yoga package and went consistently twice a week until I reached 9 months. Dipti was my instructor, she is everything I could wish for. She taught me so much about my own body, my own strength I didn't know I had especially during my third trimester when you're at your heaviest and most vulnerable. She taught me moves that alleviated my swollen ankles, my aching body, after a secession I always felt lighter and stronger. I want to thank the owner Miriam for being so knowledgeable and patient with me and all my questions. Thank you so much Stellar Power Yoga for the teachings, the care, the love, and most of all for teaching me how to properly meditate and calm my mind from worry and anxiety. I want to preface this review with the fact that this review is not sponsored & I am not affiliated directly with anyone at the studio. However, I do want to spread the word about Stellar Power. I just started my practice, particularly in hot yoga, 3-4 months ago. As I had recently moved to Smryna, I wanted to make a commitment and attend a studio that was less than 15 minutes from my apartment. And, by the way, I NEVER had a workout schedule as consistent as the one I have now before my membership at Stellar Power. When I reached out to Miriam originally, she encouraged me to try some classes before diving into a year's membership (and I was willing to sign up cold turkey, just based on the reviews and schedule!). As the daughter of two small business owners, I think Miriam sincerely wants everyone who commits to the studio to love their experience there. And that meant a lot to me. What sets this yoga studio apart from others? It's not for snobs. I have encountered those who practice with a lot of self-righteousness and judgment. This is not the place for that. I started my practice in a Buckhead studio that, for the most part, suited my needs. But on some days, I would walk into class, and there would be so much noise and gossip, I felt like I couldn't get in my head. Not every class at Stellar Power Yoga has begun with utter silence, but it helps that the crowd is extremely diverse (as well as the instructors), and there's a feeling that everyone is interested in improving themselves. I have often considered it unusual to see other women of color in yoga classes, since I had been to many that were not diverse. Stellar Power represents the Smyrna demographics: diverse in age and gender. Men should not shy away from this practice. It was a wonderful change for me to see a lot of different faces, which I think is something from which everyone can benefit. If you are interested in classical conditioning, this is the place for you. Each class ends with a soothing lavender towel to tie together the practice (and you can put a hand on your belly if that's not for you); it makes you want to come back because you remember that feeling of reward and relaxation. I love the power classes in particular, but if you are new to pilates, their fusion class is amazing. The stretch class is wonderful right before bed as well. As someone who is choosy about where I put my money, I hope you will give Miriam a call. Try a few classes, see what you think. You won't be disappointed, as there's a place on the mat for everyone. read more

Stellar Power was a great place until about 3-4 months ago when several amazing teachers left. While the studio is wonderful and so is Miriam, the reason I am posting a 1 star is the current teachers. They are just barely mediocre. Dane teaches on Wednesdays and he is incredibly boring and not inspiring as a teacher at all - though he is clearly a skilled yoga practitioner. Richard teaches on weekends and he does not demonstrate a single pose to the class. In fact, I wouldn't even call his class yoga, it's more of a "work out with yoga moves," not really the challenging mind-body connection that most of us are seeking with a yoga practice. I hate that this is the case as I loved the studio but not longer attend. I wish Miriam would take a poll from her students on the current teachers. read more

Stellar Power Yoga is truly an oasis. I just moved to Atlanta from Los Angeles, and was delighted to learn about this brand new yoga studio located just minutes from my house. I was greeted warmly by Brooke the minute I first stepped inside, and I have been enjoying classes with the team since then. The space is absolutely beautiful, serene and always impeccably clean. The owner, Miriam, is incredibly kind and encouraging (not to mention a skilled instructor!) Some of my other favorite instructors are Kimberly and Brooke. I found Stellar Power Yoga just over a year ago. I can not say enough good things. Yoga and the studio literally have transformed my life. The owner and operator (Miriam) "had me at hello" so to speak. She took an inquiry call after normal business hours and welcomed me, encouraged me to try different classes with different instructors and so my yoga journey began after a serious foot injury that no longer allowed me to run. Needless to say, I now do yoga more and run less. The studio as well equipped with plenty of various props and tools to assist should you need them. The warm temperature is just right to help you get into those poses during each class. While those aspects of the studio are great, what makes this place truly a gem is the amazing staff. Richard, plays great music and gets your heart rate up and challenges you with detailed instruction. He changes it up so you are​ never bored and feel like your taking the same class over and over. Just a great soul, who also happens to remind you that Yoga is a practice and journey and that will only improve over time. Cheryl is great for a vinyasa flow class. Perfect if you want to get a solid yoga session, that is gentle enough for beginners, yet challenging enough for those that have been doing yoga for a while. Her voice alone sets the tone and mood and you truly forget about the world outside the room. My schedule does not allow me to take as many of her classes as I would like, I am hoping that will change. Paige is my heart! (evening classes). She starts every class with a story or theme. I love her vulnerability and honest spirit. She truly shares herself. She is so relatable and kind, and the next thing you know, your immediately at ease and have the confidence to get through class no matter what type of day you may have had before you entered the studio. I have not seen her lately due to travels and I have missed her terribly. I even hear her voice pushing me when I am doing yoga on my own away from the studio. Her instruction is that detailed. She challenges me. She takes her time and shows you with such patience and grace and will repeat things for those that are less advanced or trying things for the first time. Her class is interactive and shows us the various ways and levels of a pose so you know where your at and where you may want to try next. Last, but not least, is Brooke. WHAT A CLASS!! I used to feel intimidated by her class.It is​s tough. It can be complicated (in a good way). And she does things differently. Yet... it's damn near perfect. The class is very popular so get there early for a good spot and she only teaches once a week. Her class is interactive and I have done things in her class that I never thought my body would do. I have taken risks and they paid off. I work the hardest in her class but when I am done, I feel amazing. Please know the other instructors and occasional subs are good also. I just have spent a limited time with them and don't feel comfortable giving feedback unless it can be based on enough interaction. Based on this review, I am sure you know by now, this is my sanctuary. I beam because of this place. It's my community. My peace. I just bought another annual membership that will have me there thought 2021 based on the great fee promotions they offer regularly. This makes this place affordable. Miriam is so creative. She has classes for children and young people. Workshops for arm balances and chakras. Classes for the whole family. There are even classes for couples, teens, and men only classes (Broga). This place has it all. We even celebrate the new year doing yoga. I mean, you won't find anywhere else that will have something for you or a loved one. Not in Atlanta. The classes are diverse in EVERY way. Your first month is unlimited for $49.00. That way you can try it for an entire month, go to various classes with all the folks I mentioned above and see if it is for you. I am confident it will be. I live and regularly practice yoga in NYC but my parents live in Vinings and I visit them often. For years I attended yoga class at a studio that is now closed, and I was stumbling around to find a decent replacement but wasn't able to find anything for a year or two. When SPY opened I was concerned that it wouldn't be around long but I decided to buy a package and give it a go. I'm so glad I did. I often try to extend my stays in Atlanta partially due to this studio. I have just ended a weeklong stay and took a class every single day. From Vinyasa flow to Pilates/yoga fusion to ending my week with an incredibly relaxing yin class, this studio has it all. The instructors are fabulous, the studio is very clean and the schedule is packed with a variety of classes.
