I've been here about 2 months now, and I love the fact that they have so many things going for them. So far I've been taking the slow flow class both days a week which has been a heaven sent, as well as a warm (95 degrees, not really warm imo) flow, a non heated vinyasa, and multi-instrumental sound meditation! I will say that I wish the unlocking of the door 15 minutes before class was reliable, often there's no one at the desk or if there is they don't really speak to you. That's mostly fine with me because I'm there to be a ball of energy, but what I wanted to say was ladies - please, we don't need to see your bare bottom at every spare glance up or around in the locker room. Please change in the private toilet rooms provided. Would make everyone more comfortable!! read more

This studio is beautiful, the room is really wide & open & is decked out in beautiful natural wood. The staff is warm & welcoming!! I was traveling and was able to rent a yoga mat for my practice, which was great, however be aware that they have very basic foam style rental mats, that are not super idea for a heated practice. Come ready with a towel if you need to rent & are planning on taking a hot class. This was a great experience, the class was fun, accessible and challenging!! I'm visiting my best friend in Atlanta and we decided to take a yoga class together to decompress after our work days. We took the Flow + Restore 75 with Mary Beth Howell. The class was described for "all levels" but it was definitely an advanced class. The class involved a few balancing poses and lots of stretches as the "restore" section. I've taken a handful of yoga classes in the past and I used to dance so I enjoyed the challenge, but it would definitely be a shock as a beginner with little experience. Mary Beth's teaching style is unconventional for a yoga class - she doesn't embody the typical "zen" energy but is very helpful and enthusiastic in her class. She uses a "hands on" technique so will actively help you achieve the most out of each movement. This class was amazing to feel energized and alive. I loved the guided restore part of class as it made me miss my dance days! I wouldn't recommend this class for beginners or for anyone looking to relax. Loved this place. I had an unlimited class membership for seven months - went in knowing absolutely nothing about yoga, and came out stronger, more confident with poses and balance, and knowledgeable on the appropriate techniques and positioning to use. They have a good mix of beginner and advanced classes (take it to heart when they say you'll need six months experience for a class). I always felt like I knew what I would get when I signed up- if they promised a relaxing opening flow, that was what I got. If they promised a power yoga Pilates fusion that would nearly kill you on the mat- they delivered that too. Shout out Vladimir and Dede also- they were the best instructors! They provide blankets, straps, blocks, cleaning supplies for your mat, and cool towels for free every class and have clean showers and a locker space on site. Parking is in the Publix garage and there's always plenty available. Doors lock when class starts though- EXACTLY when classes start. The teachers provide specific personal feedback on poses and help you get the most out of every position- they also are very considerate and intentional about asking and providing accommodations to attendees with injuries or special needs. I'm really glad I started with them (only left because I moved) as it has given me a great foundation for my practice as I check out studios in ATX. Awesome yoga studio! I've been coming here for a couple months and have tried a variety of classes (not hot) and they've all been great. Thoughts and Recommendations: - Instructors and staff are all SO friendly and welcoming! Like seriously so so nice. My favorite classes have been the ones led by Vladimir. His voice and persona are calming and relaxing. I also appreciate that he checks with everyone before the class to see if anyone has injuries or limitations (especially now as a pregnant lady I'm thankful for that gesture). - Classes vary by intensity so pay attention to the descriptions. I'm not a hot yoga type of person so I have nothing to say about those classes. Temp room is where I'm at. Anything that starts with "FLOW" will be a bit more advanced. My favorites during pregnancy have been the classes that called "Gentle 60". - Parking is easy and free! Which is much appreciated in Midtown. I love coming here! Came in once for bikram yoga - great class, friendly staff, and nice facility. Scheduled a second class and arrived 5 minutes late - the doors to the business were locked and nobody answered phone when I called several times. I understand having some sort of late policy, but 5 minutes...come on. I could have slid into that class. Or I would at least ask they answer the phone. Lost my points used from ClassPass. read more

Been to this studio on and off since it opened. It used to be a good studio, lots of experienced teachers in hot yoga a few years ago. Recently the past year or so, all classes have been a huge disappointment, to the point where I don't want to finish the class and just walk out. Let's start with the hot room - it's not hot !! It's warm maybe 80s - low 90s and during class there's cooler air blowing constantly, every time now I get cold and don't break a sweat. It's not hot yoga, and definItely not 103 as advertised - they should just set the expectations appropriately so that people who want a hot class can get the workout they want, perhaps somewhere else. Instructors have changed a lot and they are lacking skills. If you don't have proper teachers trained in barkan then don't offer the class - I took a class today advertised as such and it was a big disappointment. The opening and closing breathing exercises, which are the core of the practice and unique to it, were skipped entirely. Poses and flow were off even though this is a sequence , no proper instruction was offered. Another time recently I had signed up for the class because I knew the instructor, the class and instructor got changed last minute to something completely different. I am also quite frustrated with the music that was played in the barkan class today. I find it very disrespectful on the teachers side to play what ever the hell they like during the one hour class; this morning it was a mix of garbage pop, born to be wild, country music and some other random songs ... like a lion king soundtrack song. Why ?!!?? Why are they allowed to do this at this studio ?? We spend money, time and energy to show up for class, especially at 7 am. And we get lion king songs and garbage top hits ??? Jeez, listen to it in your car on your way to work but don't shit on everybody's practice. Never coming back here. This just screams to me that this studio has no policy and no quality standards in selecting or training instructors. read more

I went here for my 1st ever yoga class with my dear friend. She volunteers here as well as takes classes at the studio so I was excited for this 1st time experience. The class I took was a restorative class with instructor Amanda offered on Friday and Saturday evenings (Restorative 75 is the official name). She was pleasant and had a nice vibe for the class. The class was 1 hr and 15 mins long. I choose this class bc I am a beginner. It honestly was half mediation and stretching. There wasn't much of the yoga experience. I closed my eyes most of the time and relaxed since we held our "stretches" for a good 5 mins or so. If you want to relax then take this class. If you're more into a true yoga experience, I wouldn't rec this class. The studio is located behind Marlow's off to the side. The studio itself consisted of a hot yoga area and another room that's more serene. There are locker rooms where you can change and store your valuables in. There is a parking deck you can use that's free in conjunction with the Publix and other businesses within this block. And psst... I heard if you volunteer like 3 hours per work (something like that) then you can have unlimited studio time. My friend does it, and she loves it! read more

This is a beautiful brand new yoga studio run by a super nice husband and wife team right here in the heart of midtown Atlanta. There are two yoga rooms, one for hot yoga and one for non-hot. The hot room, my favorite, has a comfortable, rubber-type surface (recycled material) and provides excellent heat during class. The other room is hard wood and very intimate. There are multiple classes throughout the day which provides great flexibility. There are also great monthly and annual deals going right now as the studio is just opening. Showers are available too for after class and the bathrooms are very nice and clean. Overall, a great experience! read more

I'll be the first to admit that I don't practice nearly as much as I'd like to, but most every class I've taken here has been exactly what I'm looking for, whether it's restorative, challenging my flexibility, or getting in some solid cardio. The studio is clean, calm, and spacious. I always book through ClassPass and never feel that I'm an outsider or second-class yogi. In fact, I was even offered a complimentary class for my birthday. I don't know if it's fair to review a yoga studio after a single session, but since I'm likely not the only enthusiast to travel to Atlanta and look for a studio just for during their stay, I might as well put in my $0.02. I freakin' loved this place. The space, the amenities, the atmosphere, the staff - everything was wonderful. It was easy to get here from the MARTA station just a few blocks away, and it's also close to some restaurants and stores that are worth wandering around. Signing up was easy since I already use the MindBody app, and the Yelp check-in offer meant that my mat rental was free! Once in the Moon Room, the Flow 75 session was great -- I picked a pace and intensity that I thought fit my experience level, and it ended up being perfect. The instructor, Jen, skillfully worked through a sequence that was challenging, but also kept us centered and mindful. I left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and wrung out. If I'm ever back in Atlanta, I will go out of my way to return for a session here! read more

I did a 30 day unlimited class pass for $49.00. I wanted to find a new studio closer to me than my old studio and Evolation fit that bill. They offered lots of classes and free covered parking. However, online reviews were mixed so I wanted to try it out before buying an annual membership like I had a YogaWorks. I attended a number of classes and they were OK but I never had any interaction with desk staff. In fact, I completed my free month and was NEVER contacted by Evolation about a follow up or even a new membership. I was stunned by their lack of interest in me and my money. No personal connection. As a result I will not be considering any further membership at Evolation. Maybe a smaller, more personal studio is more my style. If you are OK with a robotic, Yoga Inc. type operation this may be for you. read more

Great for beginners and casual yoga go-ers! I was visiting from California, needed to relax and decide to check this place out. Miranda at the desk was very helpful and friendly. She pointed out where everything was and told me all I needed to know. The facility is clean and well organized. I felt like I was at a spa. I took hot yoga with Jonny Mah. I'm not that experienced as a yoga student but was able to understand his instructions on the poses and could follow along with the rest of the class pretty easily. He encouraged us to try the more challenging poses and was patient and helpful. I left feeling more relaxed and refreshed. Would definitely recommend! read more

This was my first class at evolution yoga and I loved every bit of it! I attended the Slow Flow 75 (beginner friendly) with Vladmir, and it was perfect for a newbie like me. He approached everyone in the class individually before the actual start of class, and asked about any limitations (I.e injuries) we may have, then asked where our problem areas were, (mine being my neck and shoulders). At the actual start of class he explained what the different types of yoga were, he went slow throughout the class and emphasized breathing and listening to your body. He provided easy and challenging variations of each pose and individually paid attention to each student in the class... For 75 minutes! I would definitely suggest this class if you are a fresh to returning beginner. read more

I have tried almost a dozen studios in Atlanta, but this one is unique in that it offers a dedicated hot (sun) room and room temp (moon) room. I've attended classes in both rooms with a variety of instructors, and most have been excellent. My favorite has been Maria's gentle class on Sunday afternoon. A recent stress fracture in my foot has taken me away from most power and flow classes, so I have been searching for a good low-impact solution in the meantime. Maria's calm, supportive spirit provided exactly what I needed, so if you're likewise recovering from an injury, please please please attend her class! The only class that I was disappointed by was the 6:00am Hot 60. I was looking forward to a calm start to my work day, but the instructor just seemed rushed and pissed off. Not for me. read more

As a beginner I think the Basic 75 classes are amazing. I haven't been to a studio that takes as much time to really teach and focus on the basics and alignments. Rather than just showing, the classes help personally focus and modify.I really love the calm and welcoming atmosphere. I like the studio and instructors; however, find that not-hot yoga classes are very limited unless you want to just chill and take restorative. Very few classic flow not-hot yoga classes. There are many hot yoga classes throughout the day but if you are not into hot yoga and want to practice traditional flow or iyengar this is not the place. I guess the feeling is that if you are not into sweating, you must just want to do restorative. If this was simply a rating of the class (Restorative 75 with Amanda) this would be a 5 star review, because it was outstanding - a wonderful introduction to yoga for a first-timer. Amanda went out of her way to assist and reassure individuals who needed guidance. However, the indifference and cool reception of the the front desk staffer detracted from the overall experience. I arrived 15 minutes early to check in as this was my first yoga class ever and my first visit to Evolation - and I explained this to the receptionist. The staff member pointed to the props, told me to pick a few of each (I had to ask for an explanation of each as it was all new to me) and pointed to the classroom. No tour of the facility, no indication of location of locker room, and no explanation of what to do with my rented matt after class (had to ask the instructor). In summary - fantastic class, poor job of introducing a newcomer to the facility. read more

This place is amazing! I found this studio through ClassPass and took the Restorative Yoga class offered on Sunday at 6 PM. After an aggressive strength training class and soccer game earlier in the weekend, 75 minutes of deep, relaxing stretching using various bolsters was just what the doctor ordered. Amanda, the instructor for this class, was positive and uplifting, and this was the perfect end to my weekend. The studio is warm and welcoming as well, and you can't beat free parking in Midtown. love this yoga studio! has alot to offer with different classes/ teachers and clean facilities. I particularly joined for the Bikram (hot) yoga classes - love love love Ashley N., Jonny and Ayodele!! They all have their own 'style' of teaching the class but keep to the core of Bikram positions which helps you grow in your practice. My only suggestion would be to offer an alternative Bikram class time or day if the Sunday Bikram class is being cancelled- doesn't appear any of the other classes in this studio have this issue. read more

I went in for a pranayama workshop this weekend, i will continue on that later. I had been to this studio once before, and was not crazy about it, as they seem to invoke the plastic, barbie doll version of yoga. Just peering around the room, i could see at least a dozen people who look like they might be breaking their neck. The teacher did not seem to care.The teachers did not assist them properly. Nor did they give any proper variations. There was ZERO philosophy discussed in class. ZERO meditation. ZERO pranayama. That is not yoga... Here is some news for you evolation: ASANA by itself, is not yoga. It's just an exercise. From their over-priced clothing to their over-priced classes, this studio is the epitome of the bastardized version of yoga in the west. They do not build friendships with the students. Someone else said they have "nazi" like instruction...and this is very-very true. There was no warmth. The staff was not friendly. Back to the pranayama workshop - this workshop was probably the best thing this studio has ever offered. To my surprise, the MANAGER of the studio was on her cell phone during the lecture. My jaw seriously dropped. How rude and disrespectful. this was the straw that broke the camels back. These teachers are not in it for true yoga. They are in it to continue to sell you the plastic version of yoga. Even before the workshop started, there were people in the room in the room doing headstands and down dogs. Umm....this is not an asana class? The type of people who like these studios are the ones who want everyone to look at them in their scorpion pose. They're the ones in headstands before the class even starts. They're the ones who post constant yoga selfies screaming "look at me, look at me". I am from India, and i can tell you....the yogis here would be very disappointed in this type of studio. It is a far stretch from what is taught in India. Not my cup of tea. Off to keep looking for a yoga studio that actually embodies the truth of yoga. If anyone is looking for REAL yoga, this is not the place. read more
