But it had electricity, lights and also a space heater to help keep us warm at night. it had 2 bunk beds and then on bigger size bed and a little bit of floor space. We were right next to the river and it was a really lovely view. Prices were fair. And the camp hosts were welcoming and friendly. The bathroom had shower curtains for the doors on the stalls and on the shower. We could not find a water fill station. They do have onsite ice and wood you can purchase for fair prices. It was a beautiful little area just outside of lake city We would definitely stay again if we were back in the area. The water went out one night and we were not able to take a shower that night. The camp host seemed surprised that we didn't have ability to shower in a RV. We were renting a cabin...... We had been climbing 14ers the last few days and just wanted a shower but alas it was not meant to be. Wish they would have put a sign on the door to explain what was going on instead of just locking the bathroom from the inside. We thought someone had just locked themselves in because of the curtain on the shower i went to ask about it and then was told that the water was out. Just put up a little communication about it to inform your guests :) Otherwise wonderful stay.

We stayed at the Elkhorn Resort! I highly recommend the Elkhorn, it was surrounded by mountains on all side and was so quaint and clean. The small cabins are perfect for a couple people. They provided a small refrigerator, microwave and a gas grill for each cabin. Our cabin, which had a small patio with chairs, faced the commons area which had a fire pit and then a larger covered outdoor patio area, which had a large blackstone griddle as well as a large gas grill for your use. The bathrooms are located in an out building but were very clean, they had a double sink, couple toilets and two showers. The water was always very hot! The property also provided a laundry area and had ice available for purchase. The owner was on site and was the sweetest lady. See you next year!

We talked to Steve, the camp host, to see if there were any openings For the rest of the week and much to our surprise, someone had just canceled and we were able to get their spot! Such a blessing! The bathrooms are clean, the views are gorgeous, and the spots are the perfect size. The spots do book up very fast, so plan ahead!

They don't provide towels but they'll sell you a towel for $10 they don't provide lockers, but you can rent one for $.50 Like I said, I love the Hot Springs pool but it's expensive that's the worst thing I can say about it will I go again, ... 100% But bring $$.

We were checked in by a friendly lady who offered me a Veteran's discount. FWIW, currently, the prices charged seemed higher than those on the website, but lower than other soaking options. We brought our own towels and found a lounge chair to hold them. There are several pools and I was surprised to learn the lap pool is not geothermal water--cool city water there. The first pool was 88 degrees and designed for kids. Too chilly for me, but my son spent most of his time here playing water basketball and swimming around. Second pool was in the mid-90s and felt much better to me. I was also able to enjoy the 102 degree (about my threshold for being "hot") adults-only pool. Watching the pools and surrounding peaks as the sun set was awesome. Very nice. About these things were were stoked. We were not stoked to learn upon checkin that the slides had closed at 6pm, along with the activity pool. This info apparently relies on word of mouth--not their website--to know in advance. We'd have come the next morning had we known. Boo. Lame, even. With kids, this place is a winner if arriving well before the slides close. 6pm. You heard it here. Adults only? We stopped by to get something out of our vehicle and in the shop the shop keeper reminded me that the speed limit in the camp area is 5 mph. I stopped right behind our car and had driven in very carefully and slowly watching for dogs and children. They just don't give good customer service and both women that we encountered had very sour attitudes. I would NOT recommend renting a Jeep from this business.

Walk in shower, kitchen and dog friendly. We had to book this very last minute and we were so glad it was clean. The campground has recently been purchased by Joe and Kendal and they have really made it nice. There are cabins and RV sites. There is a large game room and patio area that you can use as well. It is about 10 minutes outside of Gunnison. They are opening a coffee shop soon. Great views of the Blue Mesa. I highly recommend Sapinero Village.

Discovered this site while driving from Ouray to Silverton just off Hwy 550. It is about 13…read moreminutes from Silverton. There are more than 50 campsites serving tent-campers, small RV's and pop-ups, and a few sites over 1,500 square feet to serve even the largest RV's. The park has one water pump, clean pit toilets and showers that will cost you $5 for 4 minutes! You can make online reservations and offer a variety of sites, from water front, lake view or standard. I stayed in a water front and boy was it a pretty site. The only drawback is that since there is no barrier, you are fully exposed and visible from most of the other surrounding sites. The wind blows hard and although my tent held up really well, there were moments I could not even enjoy the views because it was so windy!! Firewood is available for purchase but I had a hard time getting the wood to burn as did other campers around me as they shared the same experience. Site prices vary depending on season. Would definitely return, fishing is allowed but no swimming.

Being from Dallas & unfamiliar with the area, we took Sam's recommendation to drive/hike up to Emerald Lake to swim (11,400 ft up!), to do a cold plunge in the Taylor in the morning, and to check out Crested Butte - & all were great fun!
