We love the Dr's and staff at HR Smiles. As soon as you walk in the receptionist greets you and welcomes you by name - before you even sign in! We first moved to HR a year ago and one of my crowns broke. I called HR Smiles and they fit me in that day! My son is in college out of state and they are always able to schedule him when he's in town. My 13 year old daughter LOVES them too. My husband is not as regular as the rest of the family so when he went to get a tooth fixed by a previous dentist (3+ years ago) his experience was a little different. His tooth hurt a little longer than expected but I chock that up to not going on a regular basis:) You can watch a move or listen to music while getting a cleaning or crown fixed. Very clean and modern office. I've had crowns, fillings, etc., at other dentist offices and the prices seem comparable to what we've paid in the past. They BELIEVE in giving great customer service! Greet you by name, give new patients a thank you bag, send existing patients referral thank you's, call you the next day to see if you have questions. What more could you ask for. All I can say is Jessica, Jessica, Jessica! For those reading this, Jessica is my Hygienist. She is by far the best I have ever had. She is super thorough and doesn't miss a thing. I am one of those few adults that still have all 4 of their wisdom teeth. Its been recommended by many dentists that I should have them removed because they're difficult to keep clean. Well, Jessica has no problem reaching them. On top of being remarkably thorough, she is also very good with those instruments (no sticks and no pinches). Jessica is amazingly gentle and her patience is second to none. She never ever ever makes me feel rushed. If you are looking for a good hygienist, you will not go wrong with Jessica at HRS. Be warned.... she is highly sought after and has a demand; so book early. read more

My wife and I recently went here for our first times after both not being to the dentist in a while and they made it as comfortable as possible. We received good service from the dentists, but the office staff were another story. They were rude and unprofessional with our family many times and would not transfer medical records when requested to do so in person, by phone or in writing. They seem to over schedule appointments right on top of your appointment and are not very flexible or accommodating. There are other dental groups in the area that run a more professional practice are not so concerned with revenue stream than customer service. read more

My daughter (who is four) and I had new patient exams today. She had never had a dentist appointment before (I know, I know!) so I was a little apprehensive about how she would handle it. The heigenist was super friendly and made sure my daughter was comfortable and knew what was happening in a way she would understand. No cavities and a little girl who LIKES going to the dentist? Check and check! My appointment was a few hours later and I have a HUGE anxiety about going to the dentist. I actually hadn't been in a few years, and I had been told by a previous dentist that I would need a lot of expensive work done. The whole staff made sure I was comfortable and knew what was happening. Dr. Michelle went over my needs (which weren't that bad! Yay!) and what to prioritize. The friendliest staff I've dealt with, perks to make the visit better (ie - paraffin hand treatment during cleaning; movies during procedures), email reminders, and high tech equipment. Dr. Haynes and Dr. Parry are amazing! I've had a fear of dentists my whole life due to some awful experiences I had as a child; all the ladies at this establishment have been incredibly sensitive to my comfort level, to the point that I now look forward to coming here!! I had a dental injury several years ago (icy stairs + concrete) and as a result, have had to have EXTENSIVE dental work, including extractions, bridge, veneers, and a referral for root canal work. My experience with HRSmiles has been phenomenal, to say the least. Everyone at this dental office is friendly, welcoming, and kind, and prioritizes my dental health and well-being. I can't say enough about how they've helped me through my journey to get my smile back. You can't imagine the degree to which your confidence is tied to your smile until you experience an injury this serious - Dr. Haynes and her amazing doctors and staff have changed my life, and I'm so thankful and grateful to have found these amazing women. Worst dental practice I've had misfortune to go to in my life. Zero stars. I took my mom there to get new dentures, we bought very high end dentures, but they never ever fit since they came back from lab. The actual teeth never, ever fit properly. We worked with this group for threes years trying to have the dental appliances "adjusted" but it never got better, in fact they fit worse. The dentists continued to come up with excuses and new things to try, never did they stop and say we just need to have the lab make a new set of teeth. Dentures almost always come with a warranty and we were not offered this option. Please let me insert that this was not my mom's first set of dentures, which fit fine and were just getting old. So we thought we would get a new set. I've contacted the BBB, but SMILES never responded, and I've contacted Colorado's dental board, and Colorado's Dept of Reg Agencies. I have requested a refund of our money to go towards the new dentures my mom got that FIT! And were much less expensive. My family has used this practice for cleanings, fillings and crowns. I will not comment on these services here, but please be warned that this practice is not as they would have you perceive them. read more

Just wow. Was hesitant to switch dentists, and am SO glad we did. The staff blew me away. Took in 2 kids and myself at the same time for our first visit, and their communication ~ and ability to communicate to the assistants helping my kids was awesome. So So Sad EZ V's review wasn't posted before my visit to this dental office as THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME!!!! They told me I needed this elaborate deep cleaning last September 2013...They supposedly "preauthorized" this procedure through my insurance and provided me with a statement stating that after my co-pay my balance would be $0. I received a bill in JULY 2014 for 280.00 stating that was the balance that insurance did not cover. After calling and going around and around with Abby the office girl she said it took her almost a year with our insurance company going back and forth for her to finally send this bill to me?? Past my flex spending time from last year? Almost a year later. My position was that it was faulty preauthorization on their behalf and they should write the balance off as they did in fact receive almost $700 from my insurance company as well as my copay. But I guess their position is that I need to buy them a new couch. They will upsell and upsell and scam you. Please Please Please do not trust this office. Do not be fooled by the fancy paraffin wax treatments because believe me you will end up paying in the end!! read more

Yes, they are friendly and have a lovely office. But, you will get your care from a dental assistant or hygienist with little opportunity to provide input or question their recommendations. Try to question their recommendations and they will dismiss you as a patient. I'm a healthcare professional and will do what I can to educate others that they deserve better from their dentist. The Dr's and staff were great. It didn't go downhill for me until my experience with billing. I had over paid and trying to get my refund on my over payment was just awful. I was told normally they keep your over payment as a credit indefinitely until you need it. I wasn't okay with that and asked for my over paid funds back. It literally took me 6 phone calls to get it back. After having waited for a promised call back from the billing person and never having received it I finally canceled my entire families appointments. They were able to do that immediately however I still had to call again to get the funds. Had I taken others reviews more seriously I would have believed their billing issues. read more

I would probably only give a 1 star but the people were very friendly and I'm hopeful that they read this and improve on these practices. We were looking for a dentist closer to home and I brought my son in to try them out. The office is nice and the people are very friendly. At the end of his exam I was surprised to be told that he had two significant cavities and one on the way. Just 6 months earlier he had nothing to report. The financial person went over the numbers, which were pretty high, and was moderately pushy about me getting the procedures scheduled. I refused to schedule and said I'd call. Not too long after that I saw a couple reviews on a Facebook page that talked about Highlands Ranch smiles doing exactly this... Recommending unnecessary work. I decided to hold off and found another dentist for his next appointment. I had the x-rays transferred over to the new dental office and decided to not say anything and see what they said. This new dentist did a very thorough exam, looked at the X-rays and gave him a completely clean "bill of health" and said he had no cavities at all. I have seen HR Smiles defend their position by saying that they have more state of the art equipment that can detect cavities sooner than other dentists. The new office I went to uses the same equipment and is very state of the art... This is clearly an issue within the highlands ranch smile's practice and I think they need to revamp their system in order to not really create a bad name for themselves. read more

While I agree that the staff is incredibly friendly, the facility is beautiful, and they do great with kids, I do have one major concern with HRS. They seem to overcharge and try to up sale for unnecessary procedures. For example, I had to literally throw $75 away when they put sealant on my daughters teeth even though she already had them. There was no need to put them on again, and of course insurance wouldn't pay for it a second time. I feel like every time we go in we end up spending hundreds of dollars, even though we have been going to dentists for years and never had any problems. We are going to continue going there, but I am very careful to make sure they don't up-sale us or do anything without checking with insurance first. I feel like I am on edge when I go in, and if I feel bamboozled again we will switch. read more

They treat you like family. You're greeted by the bright Sydney #1 when you walk in, and you can have a cup of coffee or tea while you wait and flip through their actual family photo albums in the waiting area. They gave me a survey my first time in to find out why it is I want to go to the dentist, so that instead of feeling like you're being told what "has" to get done, they're honest with you about what's serious and what can wait so you don't waist your time and money on something you don't need. Everyone is well trained, super friendly and knowledgeable, and they have all the latest dentist gadgets. I had to get a filling and a couple teeth needed re-sealing, but nothing ever hurt, and I could tell they were always being careful and paying attention to whether or not I was comfortable. They also helped me find an affordable option for whitening my teeth for my wedding coming up! Before you leave, you check out with Sydney #2, and for your first visit, they give you a little gift! (Mine was a pretty nice tea tumbler) I had gone to the same dentist for years, so when my insurance changed I was hesitant to try anyplace else, having heard horror stories about root canals gone awry, but my guess is that THIS is the place where they FIX those bad situations. I live an hour away from Highlands Ranch Smiles, but it's worth the drive! read more

I needed an exam and some fillings done, and my daughter needed an exam as well so I asked my neighbor who she saw for a dentist and she referred me to Highlands Ranch Smiles! Very friendly people, nice office. Both my daughter and I saw the same dentist, Michelle, and she was fantastic! Super nice, knew what she was talking about, easy to talk to. We were very comfortable with her. The hygienists were also great! When I had my fillings done, they first numbed my gums before giving me novocain which was nice, and put chapstick on me! I always had sore and dry lips after the dentist so it was great that they kept me comfortable! During my procedures, they gave me headphones and a screen where I could watch a movie! The time flew by! We were moving a couple of weeks after our appointments so they did everything they could possibly do to make sure my bite was right on my new fillings, because they didn't want me to have any problems along with the stress of moving. Great experience! And my daughter was pretty amused with the dentist - I think she wants to go back! I recommend Highlands Ranch Smiles! read more

The office is nice. It's obvious the practice has money, but the people are as stuck up as they come. I could hear the girls upfront openly bashing the "uninsured patients". They were also talking openly about a patient who came in in a lot of pain, and they could tell she was an addict. They seemed to be making a lot of assumptions about her condition... whether she was an addict or not, TOTALLY unprofessional to be speaking out loud about a patient when other strangers can hear. The next reason I'm giving one star is the pure salesmen attitude of the Dental assistants. I got an extremely long spiel about all the "extras" the office offers. Movies, music, hand wax treatment??? [Wtf does that have to do with my Dental health?] KOR Whitening was especially shoved down the throat. I was told that I needed braces/invisalign for the first time in my life. I'm 30 and I've regularly visited dentist. NOT ONE has EVER mentioned that my teeth need to be straightened. I was told that i have a food trap between my canine and premolar on the right side of my mouth and I should get that gap closed. I don't think one tiny space constitutes braces. The next thing I have to add is the staff's overall demeanor. The poor dental assistant seemed super nervous. She was shaking so bad when i was getting x rays done. Every question I asked she stumbled over her words. She was incredibly awkward. When the dentist came in it seemed to get worse. It didn't take long to see why. The lady came in with a plastered on smile and attitude. She confirmed that braces would "help me", whitening was always a good option, and I had 2 cavities that needed filling. She also mentioned a $530 night guard was in order for my non grinding or clenching mouth. The treatment plan was the final straw. Even with my insurance the prices were RIDICULOUS. One of the girls upfront presented my treatment plan. She was short in answering any questions I had and didn't seem to care if I got my work done there or not. I kinda felt like I was being judged the whole time i was there because I'm not your typical highlands rancher. This office is stuck up to the fullest. Snobby, fake, and more concerned with the upsale of cosmetic treatment than overall oral health. Save yourself some time, money, and face.. go to Comfort Dental. read more
