And he seems to enjoy his work very much. The clinic itself is not fancy. I was even wondering if I was at the right place when I pulled in. However don't judge the book by its cover. After meeting the doctor I felt he was a good doctor for my kitty! He could modernize his clinic though. I brought in my rabbit the other day and it was an EMERGENCY. My rabbit was having trouble breathing and his arm was injured I wasn't even sure he'd make it. We ran to the front door cause the sign said open we get in and this white lady was on her phone talking about God knows what and she had is standing there for a good two minutes just to whisper to us "there's no doctor"... She wasted my time just to tell me that. Trips and trips later in the end we got referred here and guess what?! There was a doctor in so she wasted an hour of my rabbits life just to be back in front of her with the same rabbit. We get there she pretends she never seen us before and they take our rabbit back. We go back with the vet and already this lady has a smart a$$ mouth. Me and my boyfriend are 17 and Asian and she was talking to us like we picked up this dying rabbit on the side of the road and didn't know what we were talking about. I would ask her questions for example because my rabbit probably hurt himself getting off his platform which was no more than a foot off the bottom of his cage I asked "Where would you be keeping him? I'm just asking cause-" "In a kennel... Where we keep all.. Our rabbits?" Okay like don't talk to me like that if I knew I wouldn't have asked. And then the old hag tells me "um we've watched rabbits before" like in a "duh" kinda tone. Like yeah no shit but all the rabbits probably had different cases. I love this vet and so do my pets! He truly cares about animals and making them healthy in a way that supports them naturally and holistically. When I took my dog to him who had recently been diagnosed with Addison's disease, he immediately went to researching everything he could find out about the disease and treatments. Every time we came in to the office he had more information to share. Although the light frequency therapy has not completely healed him, he is now going 3 months between steroid shots when he would barely make 28 days and he is back to being his normal self without the side effects of the drugs or the disease. He is doing so well, that the other vet wanted to retest to see if he actually did have Addison's disease. Dr. Lemmon is so easy to work with and give lots of options so that you can find what works best for you in your situation and your budget. He has so much information that as others have said, you may want to be sure to ask "What is the best that I start with now?" :) My dog doesn't walk into any other vet pulling me by the leash and wagging his tail up in the air as soon as he sees the receptionist or the doc. He loves Dr. Lemmon so much that he has taken to his protective growl whenever another animal enters the facility (he can hear through the door) or another person tries to reign in on his time. He feels like it is his place!! They also give the best treats anywhere. ;) I also live about 40mins away on the other side of town. While there are 2 other natural vets near me, they are almost impossible to get into. With his limited hours, Dr. Lemmon got me in within one week of my phone call. I also feel like he has more availability because he spends the time teaching and telling you how to best care for your animal in general and not just to treat a specific problem. After my very first visit there about a week ago, I will not be going to any other vet. THE REASON: I had woke up one morning and my American Pit Bull Terrier had pretty severe rashes underneath her underarms that had appeared over night. I had always thought about visiting this vet after hearing such good things about Dr. Lemmon, but I never really had a good reason to go until then. When I found the rash, I immediately called the clinic and they were able to get me in the same day about an hour after I had called. THE CLINIC: His clinic was fairly easy to find and seems to have been a small house that they had converted into a clinic. It's a pretty old school building with old school decorations, but it is NOT a indicator of the service that you will be provided with. FIRST IMPRESSION: The receptionist was very friendly on the phone and when I came in and we were able to see the doctor almost immediately upon arriving. From what I can tell this hospital only seems to have the doctor and his front desk lady working there, which is actually kind of nice. PRICING: Dr. Lemmon seems to be extremely affordable for the services you get. He charges per half hour ($55) or hour, which you would NEVER see at any other vets. You're lucky to get even 10 minutes with a actual practitioner just about anywhere else. We only needed half an hour for our visit, but I felt that I had learned more in that 30 minutes from this vet than I have ever learned from all the vets I have ever visited combined. MY EXPERIENCE: The entire experience was very personable and informative. Dr. Lemmon knew EXACTLY what he was talking about and was able to suggest a few options for me to take. I love that he works to treat the entire body, instead of just masking the symptoms. And because he does this he has to be extremely knowledgeable about how the body works and sees beyond just the symptoms. I was sent home with a lot of literature for me to read and several different tinctures that I could use on her. After the appointment, I went out and bought one of the tinctures that he recommended (Oregon Grape Root) and started to use it 2-3 times a day on her rashes. Within a day there was already huge improvements. Within 3 days it was completely gone. MY DOGS OPINION: As silly as this may seem, it really ended up proving to me even more why I loved this clinic and doctor. But first a little bit of a back story to help you understand.. The dog that I had taken to this clinic was brought into our home about 2 years ago when her and her 5 puppies were flown from a California shelter before being scheduled to be euthanized. She (and all of her puppies) were extremely emaciated and suffering from SEVERE mange and secondary infections, resulting in almost complete hair-loss throughout their entire bodies. She spent about her first year with us in the rescue's vets office about every week or so for routine skin scrapings so she is absolutely terrified of vets offices and sincerely hates the experience. Because Highlands Veterinary Clinic seems to be based in a home style environment, I feel that that helped my pups anxiety issues immensely. But what floored me the most was how quickly she warmed up to the doctor. Not only was she nudging him whenever he stopped petting her, she even snuck in a few kisses to his face!! WRAP UP: I couldn't be happier with my first experience with this doctor. I can't believe that I am the first one to write a review of this place!!! Dr Lemmon is very capable and does a lot of holistic/naturopathic type vet care. My former vet kept throwing antibiotics at my 16 yr old dog's 3 month cough. Doc Lemmon suggested a nice supplement that would strengthen his whole system and BAM! Cough gone in a week. When it was finally time to say goodbye (at 20 yrs old!), they let me do it in the car, rather than in the office so that my doggie could be as comfortable as possible. On to a second experience here. I inherited a biting, abused little chihuahua, who was frightened of everything and had multiple health issues. After taking the good Dr's suggestions about food and supplement choices, my tiny doggie was in really good shape- except he hated the office. So one time he escaped from the treatment room and ran to the office manager (the only other person there). She picked him up and held him until I was done discussing his treatment, even though she was trying to get work done. Unfortunately he died some time later of a brain tumor that we could not have known about. His "illness" was sudden in the night and we put him down at a local emergency vet hospital. We received a card from Highlands Veterinary Hospital with condolences. You can't get better than that! My cat has recently started slowing down, as she is getting older. I plan to take her in for some supplement ideas since I know how much they improved the length and quality of my dogs' lives. read more

We highly recommend Dr. Lemmon. Our cocker was diagnosed with ligament damge to his back knee. we were told that he'd need surgery and 6 months solitary recovery time. we took him to the big Vet place in tacoma and they outlined the whole procedure. It seemed bleak, especially since our dog was only 3 at the time not to mention the multi-thousand dollar bill. We then heard about Dr. Lemmon and took him there. Dr. Lemmon cured our dog in a couple of simple treatments/ injections and gave us some chinese herbs/ tinctures. Dr. Lemmon said that he might injure himself again to bring him back in if that was the case. i've had some fairly good experiences with dr.lemmon. i bring my kids here when there's nothing left western medicine can do for them or i think a natural approach is better than what my traditional vet has to offer. he gives me a list of options, which can sometimes be overwhelming. i wish he would just say, "this is what we should do and if this isn't enough, we have other options." but now that i know what to expect, i come ready to ask which one or two we should start with. i don't like his dingbat receptionist and i don't feel like the clinic is very clean (there's been dog hair on the exam table when i've gone in before), but he's very nice and can be very helpful without poisoning my kids with pharmaceuticals. read more

I took a chance on this doctor after reading reviews of many vets and clinics. Thank you, fellow yelpers. This is my vet of choice now. I spent a full hour with the doc discussing options and diet and supplements. He gave me copies of relevant articles, product descriptions and studies. He encouraged me with the homemade food recipes and suggested some additions. For people who don't want to or can't make the meals, there is a fresh frozen product called Darwin's and he gave me four samples to test out. He doesn't do surgery but I got several opinions, checked Yelp and found Ellensburg Animal Hospital. They did surgery there for a fraction of what the Seattle area charges and everyone was kind, no rush, no pushing like " I think he should stay another night" or "We recommend this expensive vitamin combo which you can buy right here". I took my sweet lovable 18 year old cat to Dr. Lemmon because she had a bleeding cyst in her ear. Nothing could be done to help this from getting worse. We finally had to put her down. I thought because Dr. Lemmon is a naturopath, his way would be Painless. However, Please BEWARE!!! This was the most INHUMANE way to lay our pet to rest!! He injected her with what he said, was a sedative. She SCREECHED out jumping into my arms with a look of Terror!! Then she got VIOLENTLY SICK!! Projectile vomiting over & over, choking as we held her trying to comfort her. Finally she relaxed, so Dr. Lemmon could inject more poison. PLEASE don't choose this place to put your pet down, it will be a nightmare you'll Never forget!!! Not to mention, there was No compassion, from beginning to end. We were placed in a Dirty COLD room with cages to wait. These are the most painful last memories anyone could ever have of their precious little fur ball. We are DEVASTATED!! read more

Dr Lemon is very knowledgable. My issue is that he offered four different options on how to treat my dog. I would have preferred he simply said "this is your best option because.....". I tried one of the options and my dog did not get better so I went to another natural vet and my dog is now better. This was just not the place for me. Your experience may be different. read more

I went to Meow Cat Rescue and I adopted an amazing little kitty who I spoil very much. When I got her I had asked a recommendation from the adoption center on where to go for a good veterinary. One of the ladies sent me this directions so I went ahead and made an appointment. They were very nice to my little kitty, and they took my free first visit coupon. Two days later she started sneezing and her eyes were getting a lot of muck in them. I quickly went to the vet and asked what was wrong. They were "unable to diagnose" and sent me home with some eye drops and a 200$ charge. (The eye drops were ~50$). I was more concerned about my cat and they didn't tell me it would cost 150$ just for my kitty to see the vet so I went home and the drops did help her get better (She ended up just having a kitty cold she picked up from the adoption center). Fast forward a year later when her yearly check up is due, I gave a call to the Highlands Veterinary Hospital and asked for an estimate price. They beat around the bush about giving me any numbers because "it was all situation" on what she needed. The range she provided was 200$ - 400$. I called Spring Glen Veterinary who told me it was 50$ to see the vet, and about 25$ per shot (total of 100$) and they provided a LOT better service. read more

This is the first review I've ever written for anything but I felt compelled to share that Dr. Lemmon is a miracle worker. He has been caring for 3 generations of my family's pets. He saved my grandmothers German Shepard's life, and my family has been faithfully taking our pets to him ever since. He is so knowledgeable and has such a strong connection to animals. My dogs are actually excited when we pull up at his office and literally cant wait to get out of the car...I've never heard of this happening at any other vet. He has improved the quality of my pets lives through nutritional guidance, homeopathy, herbs, natropathy, acupuncture, and the list goes on...My shih-tzu/poodle got a nasty antibiotic resistant infection after emergency bladder surgery (done at an emergency vet, not Dr. Lemmon) and I was told by 2 vets that she wouldn't make it (after I spent hundreds of dollars on all kinds of antibiotics, including one made for horses!)
