My cat Salsa being curious and exploring the exam room.

I took my sick kitty here for a 9am appointment and I was seen right away! My cat had been vomiting for several days and Value Pet Clinic was the first place in Renton I could get an appointment. I was hesitant at first, because several of the Yelp reviews mention long wait times, but this was not an issue for me at all. Value Pet Clinic was happy to take my cat Salsa on short notice, and I appreciate their willingness to fit her into their busy schedule! The vet techs and vets were all very kind and professional. I really appreciated that the vet tech just let my cat wonder around the room and get comfortable- I've been to other vets where they want the animals to stay on the table. In the end, they were able to get my cat up to date on vaccines and give her some nausea meds for her tummy ache. The vet showed me the cost of each thing and asked if I was comfortable with it before doing anything. Another thing I appreciated was that they let me know about things to look for- if anything changed they asked me to call them right away to take additional action to help Salsa. They also sent me home with some medicine for Salsa and she's been doing a lot better ever since. I highly recommend texting Value Pet Clinic for an appointment! My experience has been nothing but positive, professional, and memorable!

Value Pet is pretty terrific. They're pretty economical. Vets are never cheap. It's not a cheap thing. You aren't taking your cat to the vet for $50, it just doesn't happen. About this place: The staff here is kind and sympathetic, the drop in system is slower than a regular vet with appointments but you're saving some money. I'd estimate you save 40-50% over a regular vet. They're very good about providing quotes, letting you decide what you can afford, and adjusting to help. I see a few crabby reviews- I've been here off and on for years and liked every vet I've had. Now, back to the money thing. I understand being money smart AND that there are times money is tight. For that reason I suggest a couple things: 1) Go to low cost vaccination clinics (pet stores always have fliers) so if your pet is attacked you aren't facing immunizations as well. 2) Watch your pet- if you see something weird get it looked at as soon as possible. Many things are treatable at home but if you wait until the pet has an infection or is so bad they need an IV you're going to spend way more. 3) Don't get a zillion pets. Spay/neuter those you have and keep an eye on their health. I know you love animals, but you'd do more for animals by volunteering at a shelter, or donating to a rescue than taking in a pet who needs care you can't afford. These are meant to be helpful, things I've learned over the years.

Took my best friend in for a pedicure and a manicure the ladies at the front are very nice and friendly took my friend in and she seemed happy when she was done. That was the first time I've taken her in so I'm not sure if 29.00 is a good price or not, but she will not let me do her nails so we are both happy.

We have been taking our kitties here for several years. They offer the ability to text, which makes communication so much easier. They return phone calls, almost always answer the phones, and send courtesy emails and texts to see how your pets are doing after they go home. Outstanding service! Recently, our dog got a broken leg. After initially getting a cast at an emergency clinic elsewhere, we have been taking her to VPC and the staff there are great. They know us by name, welcome our dog with so much love, and accommodate our hectic schedules. I've never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes once I arrive. Super grateful to have found this place. Plus, the prices here for services are cheaper than almost anywhere else! Can't beat that!

Absolutely terrible wait times! Avoid this place at all costs, staff doesn't care at all!!

The staff was very kind and informative over the phone. I asked about pricing for checkup and spay…read moresurgery, and they answered all my questions. Their pricing for the feline spay surgery was reasonable, and procedure was pretty straightforward. Drop off the pet around 8-9am, and pick up around noon. There was a bit of a line during pickup because one of their machines was down, so they had to serve all customers AND answer the phone. It must've been quite busy for them. They gave detailed instructions for aftercare, as well as the pain & antibiotic medicine. I think we found our kitty's new regular vet. :)

One of the most traumatic and negligent veterinary experiences I've ever had…read more I trusted this clinic with my dog's life, and that trust was profoundly misplaced. Over the course of treatment, they performed four surgeries that were later confirmed to be unnecessary, putting my dog through repeated anesthesia, pain, and recovery for no legitimate medical reason. Their lack of proper diagnosis, poor judgment, and complete disregard for the physical toll on my dog nearly cost her her life. At no point were we given clear explanations, alternative options, or convincing medical justification for why surgery after surgery was supposedly required. Each procedure created more complications, more suffering, and more fear. What makes this unforgivable is that much of this could have been avoided with competent care, thorough diagnostics, and basic professional caution. Instead, we were met with confidence without competence, and reassurance that turned out to be dangerously wrong. The emotional distress this caused our family -- watching our dog deteriorate because we followed professional advice -- is something I wouldn't wish on anyone. Veterinary care requires trust, and this clinic shattered it. I strongly urge pet owners to seek second opinions before consenting to any major procedures here. Had we done so earlier, my dog may have been spared immense pain and trauma.

Our experience at BluePearl was one of the most frustrating veterinary experiences we've ever had…read more When people bring a beloved pet to an emergency hospital, they're scared, vulnerable, and looking for expertise, communication, and compassion. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of those expectations. We brought our dog in after she had been vomiting for days, hadn't eaten in two days, was panting heavily, whining in pain, and appeared to be having difficulty breathing. She was taken to the back immediately, but after that we were left sitting in an exam room for over an hour with no updates. We eventually went to the front desk ourselves to ask what was going on. We were told the doctor would be in shortly, and then waited another hour before he finally came to speak with us. During that conversation, we learned for the first time that our dog had arrived with a temperature of 104 degrees. We asked whether she still had a fever, and the doctor didn't know and said he would have to go check. About 30 minutes later, another staff member brought treatment estimates that included a quick scan ultrasound the doctor had never mentioned. This was the first time anyone told us that a quick scan ultrasound had supposedly been performed. We had questions about the findings, but no one could clearly explain them. When the doctor returned, he recommended additional bloodwork before realizing information from recent bloodwork was already in our dog's chart. Watching him review the chart in front of us after making recommendations significantly undermined our confidence in the care being provided. After approximately four hours, we left with a bill of more than $600, no diagnosis, no treatment plan, and no clear answers about what was causing our dog's symptoms. We were charged for an IV catheter and a quick scan ultrasound. Despite being told our dog arrived with a 104 degree fever, nobody ever explained why no treatment was provided for it. Emergency medicine is complicated, and not every case has an immediate diagnosis. What isn't acceptable is spending four hours in an emergency hospital with so little communication, so little doctor interaction, and so few answers.
