They helped me get a tow, suggested I talk to my insurance about reimbursement for the tow (good call, I can submit for a reimbursement!), looked at AND fixed the car on the same day. The prices were reasonable especially for the amount of work that was done and how quickly they did it. They even had to go pick up a special part for my car. Their communication and customer service is the best I've ever received from a auto shop. To top it off, they gave me a little bit of a discount off my total bill which was a nice surprise. I went for a ride to pass time. then I waited another 45 minutes. they gave me some song and dance of it being a hard install. apparently me being a woman, shouldn't know any better. but I do know better. they were just doing other things before mine, and then at 12:30...they break for lunch and pretty much tell you to go screw until they are done. I used someone else previously, and sorry I didn't go back there. this place also gave me one price over phone, and then it was more when I went to go pay.

Horrible, awful experience with RSW! This is a long review, but I wanted to provide enough details…read moreto show how bad of a business this is. I went in for an AC fix (no cold air). I told them upfront that I had already recharged the refrigerant. They charged me $400 to diagnose the AC issue by vacuuming and recharging the refrigerant, despite me telling them I had already done so. Their "master technician" said that the AC compressor had melted on the inside, and that I needed the compressor, condenser, and evaporator all replaced for almost $5000. They said they also found a coolant leak, and replaced the coolant expansion tank for the high-temperature circuit. After replacing that expansion tank, they say they ran a pressure test, which showed a new leak that is, and I quote, "gushing coolant". They wanted to charge $1600 now to replace the radiator. I tell them not to do any more work (they had only recharged the AC system and replaced the coolant expansion tank at this point), and that I would be taking the car home as-is. I was warned that I "wouldn't be able to make it down the road without overheating and potentially destroying my engine". They made me sign an "unsafe vehicle" waiver. I turned the car on, saw no leak, and drove home just fine. The temperature did not deviate from normal. At home, I saw that not only was the high-temp expansion tank full of coolant, but they overfilled it. I drained it to the appropriate level, ran the car for a bit, and again found no temperature issues. However, I noticed the low-temp expansion tank had no coolant in it. I filled it, then saw coolant leaking from the low-temp radiator and where the coolant hose meets the expansion tank. I took both expansion tanks out, and re-installed. This fixed the leak between the expansion tank and the connecting tube (obviously didn't fix the leak in the low-temp radiator). I replaced the low-temp radiator myself, which resulted in the low-temp coolant circuit now holding coolant properly. Tada, my AC works perfectly! Turns out that when the low-temp coolant circuit runs dry, the compressor won't turn on (to protect itself). To put the cherry on top, I did a pressure test on the high-temp expansion tank that they replaced (I made sure to get the replaced part back). It did not leak, meaning it never needed to be replaced at all. So to recap, I paid $1300 for them to replace a completely functional part, recharge a just-charged AC line, and not solve anything. Meanwhile, they tried to charge me an additional $6300+ to replace the compressor, condenser, evaporator, and high-temperature radiator, when in reality, NONE of those parts where faulty. All of the above is purely fact-based. The following is my analysis. It seems there are two possibilities: either they repeatedly failed to correctly diagnose and address the issues, opting instead to replace parts indiscriminately, or they deliberately attempted to exploit the situation for financial gain. Here are things that just don't add up: - How did they come to the conclusion that my compressor was broken, and destroyed the entirety of the AC system with it? (it hadn't) - Why did they replace parts in the high-temp coolant system, which had zero relation to the AC system and low-temp coolant circuit? - I believe when they replaced the high-temp expansion tank, they pulled on the low-temp expansion tank connecting tube, which created an additional leak (I fixed by just re-attaching). - Why did they believe there was an issue with the high-temp coolant circuit to begin with? Anybody with two eyes would be able to open the high-temp expansion tank cap, and see it was full and not decreasing. - If they replaced the high-temp expansion tank and then ran a pressure test, how did that result in a pressure-induced leak in the low-temp radiator? Those systems aren't connected. All I can say is that I would never, ever give RSW my business again. I attached a picture of the overfilled high-temp coolant tank, and the hole in the low-temp radiator.

I took my car in on March 5th for a transmission replacement through my insurance. Midway out…read moresourced the new transmission from Subaru. Over the next month, week after week they claimed the transmission was bad from Subaru and didn't know exactly what was wrong with it. But they assured me the car was sent to be fixed by Subaru. Then after a month and a few days, I called to get an update. They say the PCM needs to be replaced and they need to keep it longer so they can reprogram it. Now, I'm frustrated and tired of being patient and being put on the back burner. I need my car, this situation has become unacceptable and effecting my livelihood. Angel finally calls to say I can come get the car on April 12, 2024, but they still need to replace the PCM. He said he ordered the part and filed a new claim to replace that part. Temporarily, Subaru allowed them to use a different PCM provided by them until the new one came in. When the part comes in, to bring the car back for them to switch the parts out. But he also informed me I need new brakes and roders as well. I pay the out of pockets fees and leave the shop. At the time, everything looked fine. The next day I take my car to the car wash and notice the front drivers fender lining is missing, along with my bumper not being in tact properly on the passenger side. There was also some scratches on the front bumper that weren't there before. Naturally I called Angel to inform him of this and he says they didn't do the damage, maybe it was Subaru. So I let him know I have pictures of the car the day I dropped it off at his shop. I have proof that the car wasn't in that condition at drop off. So he tells me he'll fix it the same day he gets the PCM. While I was getting my brakes done from a different establishment the mechanic informs me that my muffler was snapped in half. Truth be told the under carriage has some rusting but for the muffler to be snapped completely off the way it was tells me they were careless and destructive while they did these repairs on my vehicle. So now I call Angel again to ask what happened with the muffler and his response was oh why didn't you come to me to get the brakes done. Then said oh yea the muffler was they're fault, he apologized. To bring it by and they would weld it back at no charge. Truthfully, I was out replacing the brakes the majority of the day so I told him I'd come back for the welding when they switch the PCM out. We agreed on Friday, so everything was good, because he agreed to make things right. The next day he calls to say the part was in and the claim was approved. So today, Friday April 19, 2024 comes around. I get to the shop around 9:30am and the wife is aggressively asking for the keys to my car. I let her know I need to speak with Angel first and I want to show him the damages we spoke of. I showed him the pictures of the car before and after pick up and he agrees to fix the bumper. He also ordered the fender lining to be replaced, but I would have to bring the car back for that. He then takes the car to lift it up so he can see the muffler. At which point he switches things up and says he didn't touch the muffler but I can pay him to weld it back together. At this point, I've had it with the back and forth and just want to get done what I came in for. So, I agreed to pay for the muffler because how can I prove it wasn't like that before?

And NOW, all of a sudden the claim was declined and he wasn't going to switch out the PCM. Meanwhile I'm receiving emails from claims with adjustments that have my out of pockets amount increasing. So I call my insurance and speak to a representative about the situation. Apparently, Angel calls them to say they ran a new diagnosis and the PCM is fine and they no longer need the new adjustment. When I get to the shop the wife proceeds to be nasty and unprofessional. She states, "We don't want to be a part of your scam." I mean honestly, who talks to their customers in this manner. Needless to say, after speaking to my father who's been in the automotive business for over 30+ years; we've decided to cut ties with this company. It's not worth the risk even with the warranty. Truth be told, had Angel's wife stayed out of it, everything would have been fine. It's unfortunate for him because up until this point I thought he was a man of his word. He should really not allow his wife to unhinge like that in his establishment. I urge you to really consider other options before in-trusting your vehicle with Midway Transmissions. P.S. I did what I knew how to do, replaced o rings, recharged it etc, and that kept it going a little longer, but eventually it just went kaputski. Call early on a Thursday morning to say that I want to bring the car in, but need it back in time to take a road trip next week. Drop off 8am. By 9am I have a diagnosis. It's a bad diagnosis, but it's accurate - my compressor died. They get the part and have it done and ready for pickup by 12:30 the same day. Is their rate a little higher than some other shops? Sure. But you can have your choice of two of the three: cheap, fast, good. These guys are fast and good. I can't sing these folks praises enough - and as someone who loves my car, I do not trust it to many places preferring to do maintenance and simple fixes myself. Gary and his team are amazing.
