Highwind Brewing Co is one of the best breweries I ever got to have lunch at! I was out in the area for business and decided to have lunch here with my colleague. What I ordered was out of this world and it was called a Bacon Brew Burger (this burger is the dish that this brewery is known for). The burger consisted of cheddar, crispy onion, ale mustard, and what threw me off for a nice surprise was the bacon-onion jam. Ahhhh man so delicious! On the other hand, I got to sample a new brew that they just released (totally forgot what it was called) and the beer was just as tasty as the burger I had. Anyways, the vibes of this restaurant were nice and the layout is open. You definitely feel comfortable and at home being here. We stopped for the night in Junction City and decided to try Highwind Brewing. Good on us! We (DH and I) had the Shandy and the amber ale (we can't remember the names) and they were both really good. The bar was busy (it was a Friday night) but well staffed so we didn't have to wait. The food is food hall style where you go to a counter (there are two) and place your order then pick it up when it's prepared. We went to The Mill (pizza, calzones and salads). I had the Italian Chopped Salad and the flavors were spot on; DH had the Greek Salad with chicken and really liked it, too. Be aware, it's a loud, noisy hall; that's the only thing that I'd prefer was different. We will go again when we go thru Junction City. read more

The food is good and the place is very nice and cozy. The Asian chicken was a little saltier than I expected. The girl at the check-in station didn't seem very friendly while taking orders, but everything else was good. The shrimp tacos came with soy sauce, which was a little unusual and didn't go very well with the tacos. Other than that, everything was perfect. Highwind has got to be one of our favorites! We come here often, and it feels homey to us because where we are from breweries are around every corner! The workers are always great, bartenders are awesome! The sours that rotate are my favorite, and ipas when they're on the menu! Food is top notch, super tasty. Pizza is our goto, but recently have been getting the bowls and those are so tasty also! Highly recommend going here. read more

Love it here. It's a new place building has been completely remolded. They have future plans of having a speak easy in the basement and possibly roof top seating. There are two walk up places to order food from. Mill pizza and 726 bistro. I have tried multiple pizzas and all of them are delicious. I won't get in to the pizza debate so try them for yourself. The burgers are bussin and the bowls are great as well. Try the bacon brew burger. The bacon onion jam is perfect for the burger. You walk up to order drinks at the bar so you get drinks quickly. The old fashion is made with a chai spice syrup that I love in their old fashion. My pick of beer is the 1858 but they have a beer for everyone's taste. read more

Everything was good until I overheard the girls that make the pizza making shitty comments about my husband for accidentally dropping our pizza. I understand the frustration of having to remake a 10'' however to then say "he better not drop this one. how did he even do that?" loud enough for people to hear is quite a turn off. It's my first time trying this place. I'm definitely impressed. The food is really good. I got the bacon cheeseburger, I wish I could buy some of the bacon jelly. My husband got the Cajun chicken sandwich, he loved it. They have many on tap options. Until now I've never found a beer that's at all tolerable(I really don't like beer) but some of these on tap beers were pretty decent. I was definitely surprised. The service was good, everyone was friendly but not over the top in your face which is really nice. They're not rushing you to get in and get out. The environment was nice. This fairly new brewery in Junction City is one of the best I've been too in a while. The beer is delicious, its very large selection makes it easy to appeal to a large range of people. They also have rotating seasonal brews as well as their constant signatures. I highly recommend the 1858 brew, it's simply incredible. Apart from the beer there is also a full bar with signature cocktails to choose from as well. If you are an old fashioned drinker you simply MUST try their signature Old Fashioned that has a Chai Spice simply syrup. It will alter the way you like your night cap in The future! They also have to food places within the brewery itself. You can find burgers and Asian bowls on the one side and pizza on the other. There wasn't a single item that we would come back for. The service is exceptional. Very friendly and efficient and always willing to give recommendations to help amplify your experience. What happened? Excellent pizzas when you first opened. Crispy crusts and tasty. Now they are under cooked and chewy . Barely edible. Is it a staff change or a calibration issue with your ovens? Front seating area by the windows is not conducive to conversation at all. Acoustics are horrible. Poor planning on the construction of that room. Will I return? Let me start by saying the pizza was very good, the beer was also very good, the burgers? Well I don't know because that kitchen wasn't open on a Saturday evening. I do see myself having the pizza and beer again, but to go only. The business is modeled as a self serve, meaning you go to a counter and order your food, and another to order your drinks which is a nice concept for a bigger establishment. Inevitably what happens is you have people standing in line everywhere, winding around all the tables with their butts right by you as you try to eat. I've never wished for a waitress so much in my entire life, or a designated kids area for that matter. If you're white and have no taste buds, look no further this is the place for you. Everything that was ordered sucked, from the grilled chicken sandwich, to the normal burger to the margherita pizza and the waffle fries. my friend ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and he said there was absolutely zero flavoring and all he could taste was the bread and avocado. My husband got the burger, took one bite from it and said that's the saddest burger he's ever tasted. Again no flavoring. I had the pizza. The pizza was sweet? I don't know it wasn't a margherita pizza at all. There's some sort of balsamic vinegar dressing on there that completely throws off the whole flavor of the pizza, oh and there's not sauce for the pizza either. Basil on the pizza, nah couldn't taste that at all. All around it was gross. Oh I forgot about the waffle fries! Pizza and beer were good. Biggest downfall is you do not get a waitress and have to go order your pizza and pay, and also go to the bar and order from them. No waitresses, so if you are in the middle of your meal and want another drink, you have to go to the bar and reorder. It can take some time as the bar is busy.
