Every time my husband needs a procedure, they require us to pay the full cost upfront and tell us that our insurance company will reimburse us for whatever is covered. This ends up draining most, if not all, of our annual dental benefits in a single visit. What makes it even more frustrating is that months later we receive text messages saying we still owe additional money--even after paying everything they requested upfront. When we call to ask for an explanation, they take no responsibility. Instead, they blame the insurance company or imply that it's somehow our fault. There is very little transparency in how they calculate costs or explain what we're expected to pay. This isn't a one-time issue. About two years ago, we were told to pay a large amount upfront because we would supposedly receive reimbursement from our insurance. Unfortunately, our insurance didn't cover the procedure as they had led us to believe, leaving us responsible for a much larger bill than expected. We understand that insurance estimates aren't guarantees, but this office consistently provides poor estimates while refusing to accept any accountability when they're wrong. It feels like they're always asking for more money, and the lack of transparency and customer service has completely eroded our trust. We expect honesty, clear communication, and accurate financial estimates from a healthcare provider. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience here. We will be taking our business elsewhere.

I have always had significant anxiety when it comes to dental procedures to the point that I needed medication to calm my nerves even for simple appointments. Dr. Bitar has such a calm and reassuring demeanor. He is thoughtful, patient, and genuinely kind. From the beginning, he made it his mission to get me to a place where I could come to the dentist without needing medication for my anxiety. I honestly wasn't sure that would ever happen, but it did. I no longer need medication for my dental appointments, and that says a lot about the level of trust and comfort he has created for me. His entire team is part of that experience. From the front office staff, who have always been patient with me when I've needed to reschedule, to his hygienist, who is excellent at what she does, to the dental assistants, who are always patient, kind, and reassuring. I even brought a book with me thinking there would be long lulls in between each service done, but I didn't even get a chance to open it once! The dental assistant was so nice and attentive even showing me all of the pictures taken of my teeth. Then they made me another appointment where the dentist is going to sit down with me and work out a plan of action to get everything done that needs attention from immediate to what can wait until my insurance renewal next year to help me save money out of my pocket. The lobby is beautifully decorated, not that I had to wait too long in there. And they even gave me a goodie bag at the end of my visit! He's friendly and personable, easy to talk to, always efficient, and clearly skilled. From simple checkups and cleaning to fillings, caps, root canals, implants and more, Dr. Hoffer and his team provide the best. Though I moved away from Redlands a few years ago, I still make the regular trips to him and his practice because I'm very happy with the care I recieve. As a whole, Redlands Family Dentistry seems to be a modern, well-run operation staffed with friendly and caring people who know what they're doing. I'm always pleased with how easy it is to schedule appointments and how efficiently billing and insurance matters are handled. Procedures and costs are always explained beforehand and I always get to have the final say. My dental hygienist, Heidi, is very proficient, and she even helped my daughter to become a hygienist by providing advice, observational experience, and tools needed to take her State Boards. The final thing about Dr Hoffer and Redlands Family Dentistry I want to mention is that he always seems to be up on latest advances in dentistry and invests in the latest dental technology. Despite its outward appearance (which is in a converted historical house with a quaint old-timey feel) the practice is all about advanced tech: digital HD X-ray, computer aided design and milling of replacement teeth, micro cameras and digital imaging, and even a Star Trek-like "Beam me up, Scotty" stand-up chamber for CT scans! The place is the most advanced "general dentistry" practice I've ever been to, and when I describe it to friends, they get jealous! I had teeth whitening treatment done, and the experience was so seamless. I had slight trepidation to begin with because I hadn't had professional teeth whitening treatment done in several years.
