This place sucks if you're using them through the Drizzly app. My friend bought me a gift through drizzly and they never delivered it and even when I went down there to pick it up myself was told they wouldn't give to me because they never accepted the order. Ordered 1 bottle of aperol, 2 bottles of prosecco, and 1 bottle of tequila through Drizly. Friends were wanting aperol spritzes. When they didn't have the larger size bottle of Aperol they just completely removed it from the order instead of substituting a smaller size. This was even with the box checked asking for substitutions if an item is unavailable. Even worse they only gave my driver 1 bottle of prosecco. When I called to confront them about the multiple issues they were extremely rude and said my driver must have stolen the other bottle and that they couldn't give a refund or deliver the missing items. My driver who was extremely nice drove back to the store to defend herself. The manager ended up admitting the mistake finally and gave the driver the missing bottle to bring to me. I had to place a second order for the Aperol and had it delivered later by another driver. I've never heard of a store leaving an item out then blaming the driver for theft. The driver was very nice and helpful and didn't deserve that kind of accusation. Leaving an item out then blaming Uber for it is no different than theft. read more

Was a semi-regular at this spot while I was in town, and went for the convenience that's all. Went today and the customer before me was a young looking African American young lady. The Indian cashier immediately starts pointing to her to get out, not asking for ID first. The young young lady said, I was reaching for my wallet, as this happens all the time...just wait. Then male who I assume is the manager, snatches the liquor and says "get out, next customer". I said no, serve them as this isn't a big deal. We had words and we all left. My point is these people come into out neighborhood, with their racist and prejudice attitudes. I will never go back and hope every minority boycotts this place. There is another liquor store a half block away. F this place and the racist Indians who run it. Back in Bangladesh, they would be rhymes with Bum hogs. read more

Friendly service, small but adequate selection, reasonable prices (a tad more than big box stores but hey, you pay for convenience), and a clean store & parking lot. I wish they would honor their Yelp promo tho!! I checked in here last visit and Yelp directed me to a coupon to use but the merchant did not recognize the promo and I was not allowed to use it. Found this liquor store listing for my Oak Cliff area via the Kraken Rum website since I needed to know where to buy Kraken. I was on a mission to buy that particular rum and my time is very valuable. Drove to Hill Town at 3 pm on a Thursday. Strip mall type frontage with plenty of on-site parking in front. Parking lot is clean and well marked. I walked in. Was not immediately greeted by several folks behind the cashier counter. But okay. No hassles. I can help myself. Very glad to find shelves marked with clear signs indicating location by type of liquor. Store shelves are well stocked and aisles are all clear, wide, and clean. Well lit. Found the rum aisle. Found my Kraken rum. Also easily located mixer shelves. Got piña colada and margarita mixer bottles. I was the only customer in store at 3 pm and was easily able to pay with cc at the cashier counter. Quickly out the door and into my car with everything I set out to buy. Great experience and will rely on Hill Town as my "go to" liquor store from now on since it is near my home, has free parking in front, and is well-organized. Four stars until more experiences here merit another star earned from increased positive customer engagement. read more

Would avoid! Plenty other liquor businesses to support. Store sells liquor but the racism on the side ain't worth it. The male worker was rude and fearful of my black friends and I. After making our purchases, we were told to leave the store immediately because we were "bad for business". Obviously insulted, we tried to return our items but were told "no returns". We go outside per his request to wait for our Ubers, he comes back out to tell us he's calling the cops because we won't leave his property. The cops and Ubers arrive at the same time and the cops dismissed this as a non issue and let us go on our way. read more

In the past 24 hours, spent north of $150 at this establishment with a few friends, and today, the owner immediately had a problem with our waiting for our cabs on the premises (??). Said that we were making trouble, told us not to come back (but wouldn't give us refunds, mind you) and called the police! All because we were waiting while black (??) Sad to see this kind of treatment come from anyone, let alone fellow minority communities. So Duncanville doesn't have any liquor stores which forces me to travel to other cities. I went to Total Wine in Arlington which ran out of regular Hennessy. Can you believe that? This liquor store was the next closest location while I was out running errands. The store has a drive thru. That is awesome. I didn't use it and should have. The store is divided up into sections for rum, whisky, wine etc. The prices at this store are several more dollars that other locations. For example I pay $19 for Tuaca in Desoto, $20 at Total Wine and this location had it for $23 or $24. All the liquor I purchase was about $3-4 more than other liquor stores that I frequent. The Hennessy was about $20 for a pint. This store was way off the beaten path for me. I wouldn't have found it had it not been for my husband. He is the Dallas native and brought me here. I will return again if I'm in the same situation but do not like the higher prices. read more

This location sold me a bottle of a well known brand of alcoholic beverage that once I was home realized it had a missing seal and had been tampered with. The owner was not willing to allow a return or refund. Denied the possibility that he sold me an "open container" of alcohol. Now I have a a fifth of Jack Daniels that I won't drank for concern it was tampered with. After years of shopping this store and this incident, I will not be back. My visit to Hilltown Liquor was horrible once I entered the door Paul which is a manager asked only the black people for ID I watched as he let 4 Caucasian family's inside without checking they ID. I asked him why the rules don't apply to everyone. He told he knows them and kicked me out the store. As I was leaving another black family entered n he turned them around also. I used to go here until Saturday 9/26/20 when my husband who walks in to buy cigarettes who happens to be tall and tattooed was stereotyped by the manager/owner who said "I know people like you" in an ugly tone. My husband kept his cool, paid his tab and left. When he told me I called and coincidentally the manager I spoke with (heavy accent) said oh I saw the camera nothing racial was said. I didn't even say anything he already knew what they did was wrong. You would think that with all the social unrest we are facing regarding racism and stereotyping they would be a little more sensitive. What bothers me more is that the Hispanics that work there didn't defend him. I will never go there again and hate that it's people like this man who make racism still an issue today. Especially because a majority of their clientele is Hispanic. Little does the owner know my husband owns his own business and is a hard working man. read more

This was my favorite store until I found roaches inside two frozen ice cubes..I had already returned home and fixed my single designer cocktail when I noticed the frozen roaches inside the cubes from the store. One of the cubes were defrosting, exposing the roach's legs. I had to discard the drink. I returned to the store a few days later and spoke to the manager. I suggested a 3 dollar replacement. He offered no apology or replacement. He just said 'dam'...that's too bad. I am a regular customer so I am very disappointed. I have been purchasing from Hill Town since they opened and have been a regular customer. I went in to find a single malt scotch which wouldn't break my budget. The man at the register (Kanchan) showed me the Lismore at $22.99 for 750 ml. I purchased it and two other items. When I got home I opened the Lismore and had a small sip. It was the foulest tasting scotch I've ever tried. I took my receipt and the bottle (and the small gift glass that came with it) back to the store and told Kanchan that this scotch was horrible. He showed me a handwritten sign on the register which stated that there were no returns or refunds after purchase. He said that he couldn't do anything about the purchase but that he was willing to talk to his distributor to see if they would do anything. No thanks. I left the bottle there and lost my $22.99 forever. But they have lost even more - a good, regular customer. Back to driving across the river for me and going to Sigels where I am always treated as an excellent customer. read more
