Since I've relocated to the IL side of the river, I was getting tired of crossing the river to go to various doctors. The main one was my, optometrist. After doing some research and asking neighbors who they recommended and Hill Vision Services kept coming to the top of the list. At first, during my first visit, I was put off with all the paperwork I had to fill out. Then I took a deep breath and accepted the fact that I was a new patient. Once I was taken to the exam area, I was impressed with the attention to detail I received by the associate. Then when I meet, Dr. Taylor I was really sold. She was so professional and explained everything in terms I could understand. When I schedule my next appointment, I will be sure it is with, Dr. Taylor. I am so glad that I finally made the change to, Hill Vision Services. I'm getting top-notch care and services. read more

Don't go here if you have a Vision plan. They won't point out the fact (except in very fine print) they don't take it. Having to now use High Deductible medical plan and pay for a visit that should have been free. Extremely disappointing as why else would you have a Vision plan other than to use it for Vision services read more

I already left an excellent review but wanted to add to it. We go to the Muny in the summer and last year couldn't barely see the performers and tonight I am here not only can I see VERY clearly but it's without glasses. I am so excited. For cataract surgery there are now nine different options. We asked for the doctor's advice and were promised a consult "after the measurements were done". Well, the doctor couldn't see us in person but was supposed to call... but he forgot. Before ever having a consultation or deciding on which lens, we got a call from the surgery center asking for payment for a specific lens. This was just one of several similar interactions. I am just sorry I didn't think to check Yelp before deciding on a surgeon. read more

Still struggling. My surgery was Sept 2019, terrible experience. I was reminded how terrible recently when my husband had his cataract surgery at another office (Dr. Mason Bias) He had a totally different experience. The dr even stopped by his cubicle before surgery to touch base, Dr Hill does not do this and is in a rush. I hope you'll check other options. I am still dealing with a gooey eye. read more

This doctor was awful! I went to him to help with an eye infection. He had a nasty attitude, like I was taking up his precious time after waiting an hour in his waiting room. Accused me of being a liar and a slut! He said he didn't know what it was because he didn't know what my eye looked like before, I told him the same as the other, he said prove it, show him a picture. Then he said I don't know what it is because I don't know your social life, it could be clamydia! I'm a 56 year old woman and have been celibate for over 3 years! What a dick! He is just a nasty man and an awful doctor that doesn't know what he is doing or how to treat people. I would never recommend this awful experience for anyone. read more

Dr. Hill allowed my dad to go EIGHT YEARS with a brain tumor causing his sudden blindness. He told my dad it was just how his body reacted to having a cataract removed and claimed it was a "genetic" reaction. When it happened again in my dad's left eye he said the same thing. My mom confronted him for further information and he brushed her off with his callous and sexist attitude asking her why was she so upset. He never once mentioned the possibility of a brain tumor. Only after my parents went back to their regular optometrist were they referred to a specialist. Because of Dr. Hill's carelessness and blatant disregard for my dad's wellbeing, he is now in recovery after a SEVERE ten-hour brain surgery to remove the tumor that has left him permanently blind. He has a metal plate in his head. And he'll be going through further treatment to make sure it doesn't come back. My dad served in Vietnam. He doesn't deserve to live through this at the end of his life. I will NEVER recommend this office. I suggest anyone considering this practice take the time to look elsewhere first. I want people to know this review is for Dr. Gregory Hill. I do not have experience with the other members in the practice. Dr. Hill is indifferent, rude, and his arrogance cost my husband his vision. After my husband's first cataract surgery, my husband's vision became blurry. Dr. Hill told us that there are some people who have thin blood vessels and that a clot can cut off the blood supply to the optic nerve and there is nothing he could do. We made the mistake of trusting him and the vision deteriorated to blindness. We went back to Dr. Hill when the other eye had a cataract. Again, the vision was blurry. Again Dr. Hill told us the bit about thin blood vessels and that some people are "just unlucky". I teared up because I knew that meant my husband's vision would eventually be totally gone. Dr. Hill said, "I don't know what your so upset about." He told us we could slow the deterioration by eating right and maintaining a healthy weight. I asked if there was anyone we could see or anything else we could do and Dr. Hill said, "I just told you." I burst into full tears my husband was obviously upset - we had essentially just been told he would be blind- and Dr. Hill got up and left. Since then, our optomatrist recommended a neuro-opthalmologist who found a large meningioma (brain tumor) and indicated that my husband's symptoms are very common. In other words, Dr. Hill should have known this and referred us after the first eye! Had he done so, we could have saved the vision in the second eye. I will forever hold him responsible for thinking himself so great as to fail to make a referral and causing my husband's blindness. read more
