Goats on the Roof was one of the most fun laid back and unique stops on our trip! We originally planned to ride the Alpine Coaster down the street, but the wait was over an hour, so we came here instead, and we're glad we did. The mountain coaster was a lot of fun, had a short wait, and was only about $15. My favorite part, though, was feeding the goats on the roof! You buy goat food inside the gift shop for about $3 a cup, ($1 refill) pour it into a bowl, then pedal a bike that carries the food up a conveyor to the rooftop. The goats are already waiting, and it's hilarious watching them compete for the food. It's a unique experience that's fun for both kids and adults. Definitely worth the stop! read more

We had fun doing this experience, and it's super cheap. The bike that carries the food to goats was a little awkward for adults (you can't adjust the seat) but I had laughs. Inside they have touristy souvenirs, and outside there was a couple in a booth by the exit selling "timeshares that aren't timeshares" that felt a a little sketchy to me. My bf got caught in a convo with the man and he was fitting tmi questions in. How often are you here? What's your income back home? What's your job? The goats were cute, esp the babies. We went for the mountain coaster, so fun!! We went during the off season, so there were no wait lines, we bought two sets of tickets and were able to get back on the ride immediately after getting off of it. The coaster is very fast! You may see that the max speed is 27mph and think that doesn't sound fast, but when you are coming down the mountain, it feels crazy fast. The staff were all very kind to us and to our kids. The gift shop is fun. It's also cool to see the goats. Definitely a fun stop, I absolutely recommend checking it out! read more

Please understand that I say this in the context of an authentic compliment; this place could not be more touristy unless it had a moonshine still operating in the back. Live goats (yes, on the roof), a hillside rolling coaster, mining for "gems" (aka rocks), lawn furniture, signs, more knick knacks than you've ever seen before, mini golf with life sized plastic dinosaurs (don't ask me, just roll with it), AND brick sized blocks of fudge (it's not a trip to Pigeon Forge if fudge ain't involved). Oh yeah, you can also purchase little food pellets and feed the goats. They will fight to get to your hand so be ready. I went with family for the roller coaster and let me tell you it can be scary (yes, even for a grown up). It was me and one other and we kept the brakes off the entire time. Those turns hit different when you're not sure if the fencing is to protect you or the goats in the instance of a crash. It is definitely a perfect spot to get sournivors for yourself and others. And again, they have fudge and other food items (e.g. jams) to take home as well. If you visit the Forge, be sure you visit the Goats. Just saying. read more

Initially I thought this place would be kitschy and touristy, however, I loved this place! The Goats, the Coaster, and the store had me laughing and giggling with family and friends. We loved the dinosaur golf, the dinosaurs were massive and added to the fun on the links. The highlight is the coaster, it's way more fun than I initially thought. It's fast and twisty and felt like an actual roller coaster that you can control. Make sure to go into the store they literally have a million items in there and so many wacky gifts. I mean how do you not stop at this gem? Situated in the side of the road, this spot leaves only one thing to question: do they ever jump off? Kidding. No irrepressible thoughts of danger allowed. It's more like: should I stop at this tourist trap to which the answer is yes all the time. Been going here for years. Wouldn't go out of my way but I always seem to pass it at least once a year. Smart move in location. They used to have more interactive and functioning stuff. For example, there was a pail and bike to lift food to the roof. Now you have to feed the goats from below. Less fun. Maybe a Covid thing? The staff is super friendly. The fudge is a hit and not bad at $4. They also have other little toys, swag and snacks. Bathrooms outside are awful and single stall and smell horrible. Easy parking, clean and a fun little break from the road. Recommend! read more

Loved the Goat Coaster, quick lines and easy to follow instructions! My family and I went once during the day then one more time at night to see the lights during the coaster. The shops have something for everyone and not as expensive as other gift shops around town. I would give this place 5 stars but there was a women (scam artist) standing out near the gem mining, trying to get my fiancé and I to go on a tour to a newly open hotel and we would get 7 day all exclusive stay, and 150 dollars to ride the zip line. This review is limited to the souvenir shop only. The place is extensive with all types of souvenirs you can think of from both the Smokies and surrounding parts. There are plenty of black bear figurines along with coonskin caps, tee shirts, and pretty much anything else touristy you can think of. In the back is a cute little goat by the name of Chloe. She was there in her pen and was adorable to watch her as she was looking for food. My daughter got some souvenirs for herself and some friends. Note cash is the preferred method of payment here. They will pass credit cards fees on to you. Given the fact that your sales tax is 9% that really jacks up the price. Still it is in a convenient location and whatever gifts you need they probably have them here. read more

Fun little quirky experience! Besides feeding goats, and yes there are some on the roof, they also have a very speedy mountain coaster. They also have a gift shop with every little tacky tourist gift you will ever need. You can buy a bucket of goat feed for $15 or single souvenir cups for $3. Our kids had a blast. Then we rode the coaster, there are height requirements to ride by yourself, but I rode with my daughter and we loved it. Lots of speed! Cost for the coaster is $13 a person. The ride lasts about 4 minutes, including getting up to the top in your coaster via the track. read more

Kind of a guilty pleasure- our second time here. The coaster is fun, albeit a bit overpriced for what it is. I like that you can control the speed of the coaster. Yes, the goats are in a pen and you feed them through the fence. Personally, I have no desire to be in the pen and possibly step in goat poo, so I think this is a good setup. My husband loves goats, so it's a fun detour for us. I can't remember how much the original cup is for the goat chow, but I brought ours from last year and it's $1 to refill. I like shopping for stocking stuffers in the shop. It's true, nobody is masking there, but neither is anyone at Publix, including the cashiers. read more

We escaped town during Hurricane Dorian. We evacuated to the mountains of Tennessee, where the weather was unaffected by the storm. On our second day staying in Pigeon Forge, we browsed yelp for things to do in the area. I like goats and farm animals in general, so when I saw Goats on The Roof, I said LETS GO! The first thing we did upon arrival was shop the gift shop below all the goats. We found out as we were checking out that the gift shop in not affiliated with Goats On The Roof and it's Mountain Coaster. They were able to direct us where to go to ride the coaster. We checked out the goats for a little bit. I petted a couple of them. They sure were nice goats. They were running around on top of these buildings. There was a bridge just for goats to go from building top to building top. While we checked out the goats, I found that there was a Groupon for the Mountain Coaster here. I asked the lady in the ticket booth a few questions before deciding if I should go with the Groupon or the regular ticket price. I went with the Groupon. It cost $19 for two people to ride, and we were allowed to ride in separate carts. The regular rate is $15 per person, whether you ride together or not, it's $15 per person. I saved a few dollars with the Groupon and I'm satisfied with that. The Mountain Coaster was definitely the best part. We climbed a high mountain and then went zooming down it in a little cart with brakes. You can slow down around corners if you're scared, or go as fast as possible like I did. They even take your picture that you can see when you get off the ride! They told us to keep our tickets to the Mountain Coaster. If we wanted to ride it a second time, we could present our tickets for a discounted rate of $5 per person. My friend said he saw reviews about it being lit up cool at night. We came back later that night to ride again. To our disappointment, it was not lit up. We were going to ride it again anyway and found they had closed early for the night. They were still there but said we couldn't ride again that night. They said if we come back in the morning, they'll honor our $5 tickets. We did not end up coming back a third time. All together, it was a fun little adventure. The whole thing took a little over an hour maybe. I'm glad I came to check this spot out. You should too if you're in the area! read more

they do an amazing job of alienating their customers. we came to see goats, not be inundated with alt right merchandise and sexist stand up "comedy" playing inside. staff was rude, maybe because we were clearly not the clientele they wanted there. the things they sell inside can be found at any other tourist trap in gatlinburg. and the hand sanitizer was completely empty near the goats, so you have to walk around with nasty hands if you pet them. overall, glad they clearly told us what kind of people they are before we spent any money. read more
