I had to give up actually playing putt putt since I was keeping up with the kiddos, but the rest of my family really enjoyed the course. I loved that they had a very accessible restroom for those with kids. One of the stalls in the women's restroom had a changing table and a kid's potty seat! (Hopefully the same is available on the men's side.) My only recommendation for them would be to offer a step ladder for kids to reach the sinks and paper towels as an option for hand drying. Plenty of free parking, too!

The decorations are bland as the inside 18 holes is basically just a warehouse with painted fish hanging from the ceiling. The outside/upstairs 18 holes is slightly better with decorations, but the sound effects are on a 30 second loop. Hearing the same recording over and over again while playing gets old fast. Not on par with something like a Pirates Cove mini golf. In my opinion, there are better ones in the area.

The bright colors, the giant golf ball, the candy statues ... it's all very big and bright and sweet. It's candy-candy-candy indoors and out, as the putt-putt courses are candy-themed. There's also a candy store inside, and soft serve, and lots of sweets. It's a candy-lover's dream in here. It's like being in Candy Land, with golf clubs. So, there are two 18-hole golf courses here: one indoor, one outdoor. You can play one or the other, or both for slightly more. I personally liked the outdoor course the best because I like fresh air, but the indoor one is fun too, with dim lighting and fun music playing. I visited during the fall, and I especially loved all of the seasonal touches. Pumpkins, mums, hay bales, a vintage tractor, and other autumn decorations made the entire area feel festive and gave me plenty of fun photo opportunities. Of course, the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel is the landmark you can't miss. Riding it gives you a completely different perspective of Pigeon Forge and the surrounding area, and the enclosed gondolas make for a comfortable ride. My biggest hesitation is the price. Since you pay per person, taking an entire family up in one gondola can become expensive pretty quickly. Overall, The Island is a fun stop whether you want to ride attractions, grab something to eat, shop, people-watch, or simply walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. Even if you don't ride the wheel, it makes a pretty spectacular backdrop!
