For food you have Burgatory, Dee's, Moe's, Jersey Mikes, Starbucks, Millies and First Watch. There is a great nail salon, a store that sells high end crafted items and a liquor store. There are even fitness related businesses (pilates and barre). The parking, though, seems to have been designed to support a lot less traffic than what comes through the plaza. It is always a mad house and a dash to find parking spaces. And you feel like you are putting your life at risk if you try to cross the parking lot on foot. It has gotten a little better since the opened the space between McDonalds and the plaza (easier access to the traffic signals to get to 22). But it is hard to get into and out of, especially if you need to make a left.

I love to walk around and browse.. good deals and no doubt unique items. This store offers discounted pricing on so many items. .. clothing, purses, under garments, kitchen and bath, pet food, home decor etc. I love the seasonal items and rug selection is pretty great ! I picked up a 2018 calendar for a $1.00 and get compliments on it often. The cleaning supplies and candy aisle are great too! Always a fun visit to Rose's..look forward to it every time!!

I was at Rose's in Tarentum, Pa today. I waited in line for about 10 mins because they did not have…read morelawaway slips. The young man who waited on me was polite and apologetic. He chatted me up to pass the time. Why one star, you ask? Well, the manager KATHY was totally rude to the cashier and I'm tired of her garbage attitude. There was another time I caught her being rude; I digress. So, she comes up to the register and he tells her the problem. She SNIPS AT HIM. " You don't have to have them, you can do it later LIKE I TOLD YOU BEFORE." She was totally unprofessional in front of customers and it made me uncomfortable. I feel that she tried to humiliate this young man, who is just starting to work and get out there. So what if she told him that before. She ought not share her dislike for his performance with customers. Totally inappropriate! And the way she said it was very, very condescending. I can't impress that enough! When I told her that wasn't right for her to include customers she said that she was "sorry" in the most passive agressive way she could muster. Just terrible. I commend the young man for his keeping his composure. As for KATHY, a while ago, she was talking bad about a co-worker up in the front of the store. I do not shop at Rose's that often, so I'm so sure if I have noticed her behavior, then others do too. Maybe they are scared to say something. I am not. I actually tried to call the store just after this happed,to get the number of a District Manager, but GUESS WHAT?? I KEPT GETTING HUNG UP ON! I CAN SHOW THE NUMBER OF TIMES I CALLED ON MY CALLER I.D.! HANG UP, AFTER HANG UP, AFTER HANG UP. THIS STORE AND HOW IT IS RUN NEED TO BE UNDER REVIEW.

Wow... what a difference a decade makes! I think it's one of the most vacant, still operating…read moremalls I've seen. Even worse than Parkway Center Mall circa the 1990s and Century III. The Malls of Western PA are on their way out. On one end is Macy's. And there were definitely more people working there than shopping there. The only other store worth going to is probably Dicks on the other end. Don't walk over for Dicks. Definitely drive over if you want Dicks. You can not get into Dicks from the mall. There's big steel door blocking Dicks. You can only get to Dicks from the outside entrance. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle. There's a buffet near the Macy's Mall Entrance too, which really makes everything smell terrible. Think Chinese food left in your car when you go to Glenn's custard, and after you eat the custard and feel good, you get back in your car and it smells like someone farted. So you air out the car and it doesn't quite go away. And you get in the car the next day and you still smell it. It's almost like a hint of hot dog water after you boil hot dogs inside. It's not overpowering, but it's there. Well, that's what this end of the mall smells like. I think people still use it for exercise, but you can get your heart rate up just sitting here alone before closing. Maybe they'll film Night of the Living Dead's 60th anniversary here. This mall IS the living dead, so it's fitting (and local to the OG Living Dead mall). Even the Pittsburgh Pirates are more alive in the post-season run than this mall. The Steel Industry is more alive than this mall. There's a better chance Mario Lemieux will come back and play another season than this mall getting new life. Dennis Bowman and Chester Drawers will come back and do the weather on WPXI before this mall becomes worthy of another visit. If you slipped, and hurt yourself at this mall, sued them, and won, you'd get a Smiley Cookie. What a terrible terrible mall.

Why is the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills even open? I can't tell you. This is one of the deadest…read moremalls I've ever seen with at least 80-90% of the interior stores vacant. When you get here, watch driving around as the ring road is in poor condition. Only thing holding on here are the anchors, which include Macy's, GQT Mills Cinemas, Dick's, and MAC.BID, with MAC.BID having no mall entrance. Dick's was not accessible from inside the mall on the day of my visit due to a broken gate. The interior of this mall is gigantic but empty. You can walk for minutes at a time and see nothing but empty storefronts and no other people. It appears that some storefronts were possibly never used. Pittsburgh Mills is very good looking and distinctive as it was only built in the 2000's. The food court is completely empty and most of the seating seems to have been removed. Among the very few positives include New Dimension Comics, which uses three storefronts, and might be the best comic book store in the state. TJ Buffet Sushi And Grill is an above average buffet. There are a handful of other local business, but several were not open during my visit. Citizens School Of Nursing also uses several storefronts. Overall, I don't know how they keep the lights on at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills. Most people would have absolutely no reason to come here and there's almost no reason for the interior of this mall to be open.

The anchor stores are Nordstrom, Macy's, JCPenney, and Dick's Sporting Goods. Luxury/designer stores include Burberry, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany and Co., Kate Spade, and Tory Burch. The mall also has many lower-priced clothing stores, including American Eagle, Banana Republic, Buckle, Chico's, Express, GAP, H&M, Hollister, J.Crew, J.Jill, Levi's, LOFT, Madewell, PacSun, Victoria's Secret, White House Black Market, and Zumiez. Unfortunately, a few of my favorite clothing stores have closed since my previous review. Several other stores sell shoes and accessories, such as Coach, Foot Locker, Kay Jewelers, Lens Crafters, Pandora, Sunglass Hut, Swarovski, Tumi, VisionWorks, and Warby Parker. The mall also has electronics stores such as Apple and phone stores. Stores for home goods include Crate and Barrel, RH (formerly Restoration Hardware), Tempur-Pedic, and Williams-Sonoma. Current restaurants are Auntie Anne's, Cheesecake Factory, Plaza Azteca, Nordstrom Ruscello, several casual restaurants in the food court, etcetera. Unlike many other indoor malls, Ross Park Mall is not dead. Most store fronts are occupied, and only a few store fronts are empty and awaiting future retailers.

If you don't know, he was from Pittsburgh and 'Dawn of the Dead' was filmed at the mall in 1978. Probably the best thing that ever happened there. It's a mall with its anchor stores like every other mall across the country. And like those malls, it too has seen better days. Not many stores left and the ones that are still there seem old and crappy, much like the attitudes of the folks working there. I mean heck even 10 years ago, I would have said back then that it was still "ok". Not so much now. Sad but true. I don't even think of this place much unless at Steel City Con which is held next door. Long gone are the days of the suburban malls.

Very little national stores left here now. There are more empty stores than ever before. Sad. There are a few good stores left including, Macys, Dick's Sporting Goods, JC Penny's, Kay Jewelers Hallmark, Cinemark Theater & Red Robin. Dime deals can be found but not always. Service is average at best in most of the surviving stores. The video game arcade has a Zombie Laser Tag which is a fun place to have kids birthday parties. The mall was recently purchased by Walmart and is due to be demolished in 2027 so it's fair to say that it's in a state of limbo now. We shall see how this works out.

I think that Squirrel Hill is one of the best neighborhoods in the city of Pittsburgh. For many years my husband and I have visited Squirrel Hill, mostly to shop and dine. We always park our vehicle in a garage. We recommend putting a bit more money into the parking meter than you expect to need, because we have seen a police officer writing many parking tickets for vehicles in that garage. Most recently, my husband and I did a self-designed food tour in several restaurants on Murray Avenue and Forbes Avenue. We ate at T-Swirl Crepe, Waffallonia, Amazing Dumplings, Commonplace Coffee, and Hidden Harbor. We also shopped in Panda Supermarket, Chocolate Moose, and Ebisu and spent time in the Carnegie Library. Previously we enjoyed eating at Kiin Lao & Thai Eatery, Ramen Bar, Kyo Matcha, Mango Mango, etcetera. We always appreciate how the business district has a diverse population and international cuisine, is very walkable, and feels safe.

My only gripe was that not many restaurants open on Sunday morning. But I enjoyed my morning stroll alone to witness the fall colors. That's a bonus on this trip. I could never see this sight in Houston Texas, where I'm from.

Retail stores present a good number of options for clothing (e.g., Dick's Sporting Goods, LOFT, and Rally House), footwear (e.g., DSW and Shoe Fly), home goods (e.g., Costco, Lowe's, Michael's, Mattress Firm, and Petco), and health and beauty products (e.g., Bath & Body Works, GNC, and Ulta). Current entertainment includes AMC movie theater, Barnes & Noble bookstore, Dave & Buster's, Improv comedy club, Paint Monkey, and Urban Air Adventure Park. Other current businesses are a few banks, a few hotels, some cell-phone stores, a gym, and healthcare providers (e.g., dental and vision). As you can see, this shopping center has numerous options for different types of customers to eat a meal, go shopping, and be entertained. This shopping center does not contain all of my favorite stores, but I like it more than most other shopping centers in the Pittsburgh area. I even have a friend who drives two hours one-way to shop here.

I grabbed a coffee at Starbucks, shopped at Ultra Beauty, Target, and at Lunch Mexican restaurant. Would recommend the area.

They had some special activities for kids during the morning & early afternoon. They had a few food trucks. From 4-5pm Max Schang's Trio of Blues played on the stage. Seating was socially distanced & patrons were asked to wear masks. Public restrooms available with extra hand sanitizer stations. Worth stopping in to shop & dine if you're in the area.

This mall is not fancy, and it has limited options for shopping for clothing and groceries (the other mall across the street contains those types of businesses). I consider this mall to be more of an occasional destination for residents who live in the Fox Chapel area.
