Friendly, helpful, and quick are three words I'd use to describe Hillcrest. It's pretty much a one-stop shop for eye exams and glasses (when you need them), and they're really easy to deal with. They offer upgrades to your exam (like eye de-dilation drops or an extra scan or two), but there's no pressure. I'll split this review with 3 stars. We've used this doc and center for years, but unfortunately it's time to change. Pros: the office is clean, staff is nice and prompt, and we're usually in and out in a timely manner. Since Covid, they ship contacts straight to your house since of office pick ups. Cons: a while back I had to cancel my December appt because I had Covid, and they weren't able to schedule me again until March. After a few dialogues they did provide sample packs of contacts until that time. Fast forward to this year: I had a baby and missed my yearly deadline (somehow they send reminders to my husband and not to me). But anywho-another 3 month wait for an eye exam and refusal to provide any sample contacts. We now have appointments made within 2 weeks at another facility. Fortunately for them they're doing great business, however it's unfortunate for their existing and long term patients. read more

We were called to pick up a prescription that was ready. When I arrived, I was told that the lenses still needed to be put into the frames, but it would take just a few minutes. Half an hour later, I was then informed that the girl was unable to get the lenses into the frames, and that they would need to be sent back to the lab, and that they would call us when they were ready. This is not my first negative experience with the store front, but it will be my last. Unfortunate, because the doctors have all been great. read more

The wait for my appt. was a bit long, but well worth it. The exam was the most thorough one I ever had, and both the tech and doctor were very friendly. The doctor took the time to explain my condition in easy-to-understand terms. Pricing was fair and nobody tried to pressure me into getting the glasses there. This review is for Dr. Mark Miriello and Abby (the intern) The front desk/check in was pleasant, efficient, and on time. The tests done by the tech were thorough. What was really impressive was my time spent with Abby diagnosing, calculating, and dispensing brand names for conditions. She was able to integrate dialoguing about life, lol, as well as do her job. Then I met Dr, Miriello, who summarized and investigated and came to conclusions about my exam. He has the ability to be both professional and personable, which is rare these days. I have a preexisting condition and a newly diagnosed condition, and somehow, Dr. Miriello, gave me confidence to deal with and feel secure about the future. Also, well done to the optician. I brought a pair of frames that I received for Christmas, and she very smoothly transitioned in to measuring the lenses and calculating the bill. Well done everyone at Hillcrest Vision! read more

Second time coming to hill crest vision since my last eye check up last year. Making an appointment was a breeze and pleasant. Once I arrived on my appointment date/time I was greeted by the receptionist and was glad to see they require patients to wear masks as well as staff. Also my temperature was taken. Very happy to see these preventative measures were taken. I met with the doctor who was very informative, knowledgeable and professional. All the staff were very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and professional. The staff are what really makes hill crest vision an amazing business! I was in and out in under an hour. Also the ease or ordering my contact lenses was amazing! She was so nice and also went the the extra mile to inform me about the contact lenses rebate and gave me all the necessary information I needed. I have been with Dr. Hall for three years now and in my opinion her office is fantastic. You are greeted when you come in the door and the staff is always very nice and professional. The office is clean and modern. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes when showing up for my appointment. I went to her three years ago not ever having glasses or anything and was diagnosed with a moderate astigmatism. Dr. Hall got my prescription dead on and I can see perfect now. They accept VSP insurance (what I have). If you have to get glasses, Joey will set you up. He is very knowledgeable in all of the glasses that they carry and will get you what best fits your lifestyle and budget. They carry brands such as Oakley, Ray Ban, etc.... I have recommended 2 people there and they too loved her service. For anyone that you refer and they mention you, you get $20 off card mailed to you to use towards your next visit. I had two referrals, so I got $40 knocked off of my bill yesterday. I highly recommend this eye doctor. read more

Once I got service it was okay. My appointment was at 8:15 and I arrived at 8:11 filled out my paperwork in 6 or 7 minutes then waited until 8:42 to be taken back to the machines that measure your eye, etc. After 5 or 6 minutes I was taken to the doctor's room but I did not see the doctor until 8:55. I was there from 8:11 until 9:35. The entire exam and getting glasses took 40 minutes after spending more than 35 minutes waiting. The only reason I will consider returning next year is the gentleman that did the eye glasses was very good. Also the doctor, once I saw her, was good. read more

We have been seeing this provider for many years and have enjoyed their service. Sadly we called this morning to schedule an appointment and I was told it would be APRIL before we could be seen. Wow, that is 4 months until I can get in with a medical provider. My concern is the access to care is too long. The representative offered to put us on a waiting/cancellation list; however that does not work with our schedule as we typically like to have appointments scheduled out and cannot just wait to be available. I hope they improve their access to care soon and it does not affect them long-term. read more

I'm not sure why this doctor lists LASIK as one of her specialties. She is an optometrist and optometrists don't perform LASIK. You need to go to a LASIK surgeon! I would recommend Shapiro Eye Care if you are interested in LASIK. Go to this doctor if you need a simple eye exam. read more

I took my kid to this place for eye check up and glasses. J. is the guy that in charges of the glasses. He is nut. He runs his mouth non-stop and gave us the wrong information that our insurance won't cover glasses. I already verified with my insurance before i went there. I finally had to call my insurance for help to get reimbursement. I would not recommend this place at all. Horrible service!! Also, the parking lot is very strange, you have to go around the building all the way to the back and come up to the front to park!!!! read more

Each time I go in the front office is so full of a wax warmer aroma that it almost puts me into respiratory distress and have to use my inhaler after every visit !!! - I have repeatedly told this to staff and requested that they not burn it - to no avail - i saw dr in Dec - she had me schedule 2 different appts - 1 for vision field and 1 for pressure check on glaucoma - was told they could not do these on the same day a/c only did vision field tests on Tuesday!! and Dr not in office to do pressure test on that day. - they called me at 8am on 1/14 (appt scheduled for 9:30) and told me they could not see me a/c had no staff !! reschedule for 2 weeks later on 1/28 at 10am - they did not cancel or reschedule pressure test which was originally scheduled for today 1/27 at 9:30 - Called them at 8:30 and left message that i would be there at 9:30 and to please not burn wax melter ! Walked in at 9:30 - aroma so strong that I could hardly breath and was told my appt was not today but tomorrow - tried to explain that pressure test was today and field of vision was tomorrow - the girl at desk argued with me - I tried to show her card where appt had been scheduled - very rude - said they would do both test on same day - That I was incorrect !!!! --- Will not be returning and neither will my husband or daughter - all three of us were patients --- Would not recommend this business to anyone --- Especially if you have any type of respiratory problems - but mostly because Dr. Hall is surrounded my an inept staff. read more

Found Dr.Hall by internet. I was impressed when I walked in the door. Everyone was so kind and very patient with my child being seen and even with the ones that wasn't being seen and boy they had the questions. Very knowledgeable and very up to date! I had a terrible experience with Hillcrest Vision. It was my first time getting eye glasses so I didn't know what to expect. Joey Mahaffey took my measurements for my new eyewear. When I received them a week later, I wasn't able to see out of them. I had to raise my glasses up (look through the very bottom) and hold them to see the computer screen. Joey sent them back to the lab to redo them. They ended up breaking them twice which added 2 more weeks. When I got the new glasses, I still couldn't see through them ( same problem). Everything was blurry. Joey told me to hold my head up and look down to read, so my nose was up in the air. I could only wear the glasses for 1 day because I couldn't see and couldn't go anywhere else because insurance only paid for one visit a year. I kept complaining that I couldn't see through the glasses. They gave me $100.00 back, but lost the rest of my money that I had spent. So the next year, I went to a different eye doctor.... They looked at my old prescription glasses and said that Hillcrest had my readings wrong. They had 1.50 on one eye and my new doctor had .25 HUGE difference. This was why my vision was blurry looking though Hillcrest prescription glasses. (They were too strong). I wasn't able to wear glasses for a whole year. I called the office to let them know, but the doctor never called back. I thought they would at least like to know, incase their Lab mis-read the prescription. I would NOT recommend Hillcrest Vision.
