    Oman Eye Care is amazing!

I cannot say enough good things about Oman Eye Care! As a patient for over 1.5 years, I have consistently received the utmost courtesy and professionalism. They offer one-on-one, top-notch professional care--no "virtual visits" with a doctor on a monitor hundreds of miles away. They ensure your glasses fit perfectly and provide personalized service. Take care of yourself; spend a few extra dollars if necessary. Your eyesight is worth it. After insurance, my total cost was about $450 and that included about $30 in taxes. That is not "cheap" but it is "priceless". Consider what I got: a complete eye exam, including retinal scans (essential for my early-onset macular degeneration), frames I loved that just happened to be within my $150 insurance allowance, progressive lenses that transition to sunglasses outdoors, all the premium coatings, and they were professionally fit for me, so they don't slide down nose. My previous glasses were from MyEyeLab, where I never saw an optometrist in person--it was all "virtual." Until today, I was VIRTUALLY blind. My eyesight will never be perfect, but I nearly cried when I put on my new glasses and saw my vision tested between 20/30 or 20/40! Don't make my mistake--make your next appointment with Oman Eye Care.

The ladies at the front desk had me checked in within record time. Because I had already completed my paperwork, things went smoothly. I was then ushered to a large, lovely seating area, where many other patients were waiting. The office is massive, containing several doctors, as well as a vision center to pick out eyewear and procedure rooms. My technician and doctor were absolutely wonderful. Initially, the tech took a thorough history and did some tests. She was very pleasant, moved with intention, but not rushed. She was communicative, but not chatty (IYKYK), and had me very impressed. I was well-handled and wondered what was left for anyone else to do. Lol When the doctor arrived, he was even more thorough than the technician. He double-checked her work, then began a discussion with me about my eyes and their health. He did some more evaluation and put me at ease. I remember thinking, "This place is amazing!" At the end, he gave me advice and then said, "That's it," with the most amazingly warm smile I had seen in a while. It was genuine and read like he really enjoyed his job. I mean, WOW. That did it for me, folks. I had already been impressed by the place, but the smile sold me on GO. I am a patient for life! Greensboro Ophthalmology is officially Kiesha Speech approved. If you have some eye care needs, go check them out. Let me know how your experience is.

I was considering not writing this review even after all the…read morewaste of money and time but Vision Source-Eye Center of the Triad had the nerve to send me a bill for $4.13 a couple of days ago. I cannot let this pass! I am so extremely disappointed with this eye care practice. Total incompetence. Let me begin with: I have had myopia since I was 12 years old. With Dr. Martinek, I walked into the office having myopia in both eyes, but walked out with a "perfectly healthy" left eye (20/20 vision). But 5 months after that visit, when I could not see at all, I walked in with her "20/20 vision" in my left eye and left with myopia again. Go figure! Meanwhile, she had me on "dry eye" treatment however charging both my eye and medical insurance for unprofessional and incompetent care. I still had to have a THIRD eye exam this year because I could not see after Dr Martinek's second exam. I know mistakes/typos/calibration errors can happen, and I appreciate honesty. The people in this practice, starting with Dr. Martinek, are unable to take responsibility for mistakes but quickly blame the patient. Josef, the optician/administrator, is condescending and disrespectful. It is truly embarrassing. I prefer driving 90 minutes to see my eye doctor in Wake Forest and have positive, respectful, quality care.

I can't recommend VisionWorks enough! I make this Yelp…read moreaccount to just to give this review to VisionWorks. Both my husband and his stepfather had amazing experience of buying glasses in here (each ended up buying 2!). We live near Raleigh area, and when we visit relatives in Triad area, I ended up buying two pairs of glasses due to the overwhelming recommendation despite the distance (Raleigh-Greensboro). A week after I received the glasses, I feel dizzy and everything looks 20% shorter. Apparently, the optometrist I went to before prescribed an unnecessarily stronger lens prescription. So the current optometrist provides a doctor's order to remake the lens, though he didn't sure the eyewear shop will honor it because the previous description is already pretty old. Due to the long distance, we were just able to come back 3 months later after purchase on last Sunday. Apparently, we were 5 days past the return window time. The lady who spoke with us says that she will try to speak with her manager and have him call us on Monday. We got a call and he said that they would remake the glasses with no additional fees! Also, due to the distance, they are willing to post the glasses to us at no additional fees too! Thank you VisionWorks! You just got one happy and loyal customer. We will come by again the next time we need any new glasses. *Note: the lady who adjusted our glasses understood our words and was very precise in adjusting our glasses (angles, distance, etc), which is not something easily done. This is coming from engineer working with a fine measurement all the time.

I definitely would recommend going there if and when you need glasses. They have many choices for women and men. All different styles and brands. I was able to book an eye exam online through their website for the following week. They had a ton of availability and it was nice to do this at any hour of the day at my convenience without talking to someone. After I booked, I was immediately sent paperwork to fill out with my personal information and insurance (this was to help save time at my appointment). My appointment comes around and lucky me...I forgot my wallet. Thankfully I had photos of my ID & vision insurance on my phone and they took Apple Pay (a huge plus in my book). The person at the front desk was friendly and I only had to wait maybe a minute or two before the technician came to collect me. I do not remember her name, but she was kind and explained everything to me before taking photos of my eyes or doing anything. Something that was interesting about this whole experience was that the doctor was remote! The technician set up the exam towards the end of the appointment and I communicated with Dr. Boykin on video chat through an iPad like device. Even though he was remote, it still felt very personable with A+ care. He went over my eye scans with me and explained what a healthy eye looks like. The technician was in the room the whole time. After he finished the exam, he immediately wrote me a prescription and I went to the retail part of the store to pick out glasses. You definitely are not pressured to buy any of their glasses, but I wanted to because of convenience. The whole eye exam appointment took about an hour. The retail associate was also really nice. I definitely took my time trying on glasses to find what I liked and she didn't rush me at all and even helped make suggestions. I truly appreciated her patience. Before I placed my glasses order, she broke down the cost and explained what insurance covered. All in all, this was a wonderful experience. If you need to see an eye doctor, I would recommend this place!

Mixed experience that started promising but ended with a serious concern…read more My first visit was for ongoing eye irritation, redness, and itching -- not seasonal, just a daily struggle. The comprehensive exam was thorough: vision check, infection test, the works. I appreciated that. However, my doctor's initial recommendation was simply to continue my old eye drops, which weren't helping. Only after I pushed back and explained how much this was affecting my daily life did she suggest something new. I shouldn't have had to advocate that hard to get proper treatment. I was also told I had $150 from my insurance for eyeglasses, so I asked about UV/blue light glasses given my diagnosis. She said I'd need a separate appointment for a vision exam -- even though a vision exam had already been performed. That felt unnecessary, but I scheduled it anyway. At my second appointment, the nurse informed me that a retinal image ($45-$65) was required by law alongside the eye exam. That immediately didn't sit right with me. I asked if it was optional, she insisted it was mandatory by law. I cancelled on the spot, called my insurance directly, and they confirmed it is completely optional. My insurance is through my corporate job -- one of the best plans out there -- and they were very clear about it. I don't know if this was a miscommunication or an intentional attempt to overcharge, but either way it's not acceptable. I thought I had found a great new eye care provider. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.
