I bought a $200 pair of shoes from a company on-line and after taking 4 months to receive them found the sizing was too tight on one foot causing pain. I took them to Hillman and in a few days they were able to stretch the shoes for a very modest $10 fee and now they are exceptionally comfortable and pain free! They did a great job repairing both my favorite suit case and a pair of heels. Very reasonable in price and super friendly! I also really appreciated everyone wore masks and there was hand sanitizer available inside. My advice: Don't even think about bringing your luggage here. They are ineffective, their service is terrible. Call your luggage manufacturer directly and I guarantee you'll get better service, better accountability, and better attitude. They have a sign out front that says 'Don't act stupid, we have politicians for that'. They should really follow their own advice. I'm sure the proprietor spends plenty of time blaming the government and politicians for his problems. Which is ironic, given the lazy, unhelpful, bureaucratic, pass-the-blame type of customer service he offered me. My story: This past January, the retractable handle on my Victorinox suitcase broke and failed to slide out anymore. I searched for a warranty repair center here in Cincinnati and the only location listed was Hillman's. I dropped the bag off in January. Every week to two weeks, I'd call the store asking for an update. Always the same thing 'Well, I'm looking at your bag here. Waiting on the handle from the factory'. After TWO MONTHS of this, the person on the phone offered to 'call the boss' to ensure the handle came in. I called back 2 weeks later, only to get, 'Looking at your bag right here, still no handle.' I snapped, hung up the phone, drove all the way up to the store, and demanded my bag back. The guy in the store, who I presume I've been calling every two weeks, says three words. Not an apology, not I'm sorry, just 'Here's your bag'. Seriously? Three months of doing nothing, with an incredibly frustrated customer, and ZERO response, zero accountability, zero professionalism. Well, guess what. I called the Victorinox customer service line myself. IN LESS THAN TEN MINUTES, I got a handle shipped to me express in 3 days. They also offered to FedEx me a courtesy bag and pay for shipping to their headquarters in Saint Louis so they could directly fix the bag without ever having to go to Hillman's again. Which I'd recommend for anyone else in Cincinnati who wants their luggage fixed. Thanks to Barb at Victorinox headquarters, I'd still recommend Victorinox luggage. Just don't buy it from Hillmans and absolutely don't bring it here to get it fixed. read more

wow. talk about customer service. I landed in Ohio when I traveled there over the weekend Unfortunately my box luggage lock got stuck and wouldn't open. I tried everything to get it opened but the lock wouldn't budge I found this place on yelp and I took it over to them. Recently, I lost some parts on my Travel Pro Crew backpack. Since the bag is over ten years old the folks at Travel Pro headquarters could not help me as they had no parts for a bag over 10 years old. At the end of my road I reached out to Hillman's Luggage to see if they could help. On contact the owner confirmed the parts for my bag were long since discontinued. However, Rick told me he would check around to see if anyone had my obsolete parts. In about a week Rick responded that he found my parts and sent them to me for free. I took in a bag for a warranty repair on a zipper that had come unsewn and disconnected. Hillman's had to get approval for the repair from the manufacturer before completing the repair. While this took two months, the workmanship on the repair was excellent. They were friendly in the shop and over the phone. Everything was free thanks to the warranty. I could not have repaired the bag myself like the other reviewer. I am not sure how quickly a repair would be completed that is not dependent on the warranty approval, but the shop doesn't seem to be in a hurry about anything. I would recommend Hillman's for luggage repairs that are not time dependent. read more
