Kim and Co. do great work on dress shoes. I go in occasionally for a shine, and not only do they come back lustrous, but they remain so for a good time afterwards. That's a ringing endorsement, considering I tend to use the shoes also as work shoes, and for extended walks with the dogs in the park or even on some rougher trails. The shop is usually not too busy when I get there, and customer services in nonpareil. The wait is usually not long, but if you need something more involved and there will be a wait, there are lots of shopping and eating opportunities right around there. Five stars. read more

Had a heel replaced and scuffs in the front and heels touched up. Not sure why the color was much lighter on the touch up. I told her this doesn't match. She's like this is close, I said no it is not. This touch up color was too light and visible. Told me to come back the next day. Now the color matched but it was sprayed on. Some of the front sole and back of the heel was sprayed. Areas that shouldn't have that color. They didn't bother cleaning it off. A sloppy job. I didn't bother asking them to fix it. It's rare in the world today to find a business that will customize service to their client's needs "to a T". I had read some reviews before my first visit, and I must say since frequenting the business several times now: people should expect fairness and professionalism! All I have ever experienced from D&P Shoe repair has been positive. I bought leather lacing and was gifted a remnant piece I liked. Then I brought in my leather Coach backpack that I had torn a strap from. It looks better than ever- completely burnished and restored. They do very good work on shining/restoring shoes, especially considering how worn some of mine were before I brought them in. One can drop off their stuff or sit in-store while it's being done. A lot of this stuff is a lost art, these days, and there aren't enough good, small-sized local businesses like this one. Staff was courteous, service was prompt. I got no complaints. read more

I had a pair of Vince Camuto boots that needed a new zipper and heels repair. The heals wrap had begun to wear pretty badly. I hadn't ever used a shoe repair place before so I have no comparison unfortunately, but this is my experience here. This was the closest location w/o having to travel far. First appearance/impression was for lack of a better word "unique." Place was very cluttered and didn't feel like a shoe repair. Owner was mostly nice and let's say free spirited. I explained what I needed and she kindly showed me what she would have to do. I didn't opted for a new wrap on the heal. I went with the touch up since the price would be half the original boot new. I also opted to change out both zippers since the one she had didn't match the color of the original. The total for 2 zippers and a Light heal touch up was just over $80. I thought that was pricy, but I had nothing else to compare to as I needed them worked on soon. I dropped off Monday and she had them ready by 5 on Wednesday. I felt that was very acceptable. I was pleased with that turnaround. When I picked up the boots the zippers looked pretty good. The heals looked good for what I wanted, but there was a slice in the leather and a stain at the top of the boot. It seemed sloppy and no attention or care to the customers shoe. This wasn't okay with me. She did clean off the stain after I asked, but the slice I didn't notice till I got to my next destination. This most likely happened when removing the old zipper. The other thing that concerns me is that she tried to charge me the whole amount even after I paid the deposit. That seemed a shady way to do business in my opinion. Didn't seem a accident. I don't think I will use them in the future. I will opt to try another place even though they will be 40 mins out of my way.***ADD ON*** After getting home I realized the zipper was still broke. When I took it back to show her she began taking pictures of me. When I asked why, she stated I took pictures (plural) of her, which was not the case. She mentioned that one of the photos I posted for the review had the back of her head (which I didn't see at the time..) I am removing that out of respect to her clearly being irate. If she would have pointed it out instead of snapping pics of me and threats to post them, to what avail I don't know. It's a fair review from my experience. I thought about dropping it to 1 star after this experience, but don't entirely believe that would be fair simply because she was upset. read more

These guys have always done prompt, beautiful work for me, but they seem harder to find since they moved to this location. Once they saved my leather jacket with a new zipper. Today I went by bus to collect some reglued boots. Dark and closed. As I turned away I saw the woman I always deal with coming to the door. "We're closed on Thursday, but I happen to be here. You cannot really be nicer than these people. The shop , of course, looks like a bomb hit it --but they know where everything is. Took a pair of boots in becasue they needed to be streached . They got them to me but they need to be streached some more--which they do at no charge. While I was in there , I saw one lady picking up a pair of shoes that she had the heel died--she was very happy. Also , a woman consulting about the leather trim on a coat. They took the time to really consult with her. Happy they are so good and so close to me! read more

When i Dropped my shoes off on Wednesday, I was quoted her price is $70. I left my shoes there and paid a 50% deposit. When I called Friday afternoon to see if my shoes might be ready for pickup late Friday afternoon. Shoes were supposed to be done when store opened on Saturday. They told me the price had increased by $20. When I spoke to the owner she was saw problem not notifying me of the price increase in a timely manner. I took my shoes to another repair shop downtown that only charged $60. read more

This place seems to have shady business practices. My husband dropped off a pair of shoes to be re-heeled. Hubby told me the cost was $50 and they'd be ready in a week. Nobody called when they were done, but I remembered and stopped by about 3 weeks later. The lady at the counter couldn't find the shoes by using hubby'ss name or phone number but when I described them she found them. She told me it would be $28.50 and since I saw the old soles had been resewn I thought that was why they cost less than quoted. (They don't take credit cards by the way). She didn't give me a receipt or any paperwork. When I paid and left, I called my husband to tell him the good news about the price, and he told me he had paid $50 cash when he dropped them off but hadn't received a receipt. So we ended up paying $80 and I don't think this was an accident - I think it's intentional that they only take cash and don't provide paperwork, and don't call when shoes are ready. How many pre-paid shoe repairs go unclaimed and then resold? Hmm....lesson learned - go elsewhere for professionalism! read more

I used them once to repair an insole in my favorite work shoes. The replacement insoles were glue in crooked and they tried to fix them quickly but it didn't hold. I'll not use them again. It's a shame, they're really close by. read more

The most odd thing happened to me today. I have a Sandal that needs a good 3 stitches for a repair. I stop in the shoe repair on 5 mile connector. I show the lady the sandal and she said that the cost was $12.95 minimum. I stated, wow! I don't think I paid that much for the pair. I said that it was just a few stitches and was there any wiggle room. She immediately raised her voice and started spouting that this was a business, and that they have cameras and she was going to call the police if I didn't leave. As all this was registering I tried to say I was a business owner too. She raised her voice higher and talked over me and pick up the phone stating she was going to call the police because she didn't know what was going on here! So, the heel on my shoes had worn a little too long but the shoes fit great and I did not want to throw them away. Shoe repair was the logical choice. I took my shoes to this shop. 2 days later and 30$ lighter, I got my shoes back and they looked great! They did not replace the entire heel, only the pad on the bottom. Well, one month later and the entire pad fell off. One month! I went out to dinner with a friend of mine last weekend. He also used the same place and his entire sole came off! Soddy workmanship or bad glue? I have no idea but I will not be going back. read more
