Five Stars! I couldn't be happier with the service from D&P shoe repair Kenwood! I brought in a well-loved blue purse that had seen better days--the leather handle was scuffed, the color had faded in spots, and I honestly wasn't sure it could be salvaged. But they completely exceeded my expectations Not only did they repair but they also perfectly color-matched the dye to the original shade of blue. It looks like new again! You'd never guess the bag was years old. The attention to detail and craftsmanship are truly impressive. On top of that, the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly took pride in their work. Have been going to shoe repair shops for 50 years. Never have I had to pay $12.95 to punch an extra hole in a shoe strap. When I commented on that, the response was "Inflation. Employee salaries. Overhead." I think I paid for their new, bigger space No true labor involved (next time I'll go to my neighborhood jewelers). No supplies. Nothing. And my other places did it while I waited. Not 48 hours later. If my one shoe guy hadn't been killed, and the other one was in hospital, I'd never have gone here to begin with. Certainly learned a costly lesson. Did not worth the visit. I have a pair of heel that I love so much and couldn't find the same one so I brought it here to fix, even its cost as much as the cost of the shoes to fix just the elastic. Brought it in and said I'll get it back in a week. It's out of my way so I wait till almost 2 week to get it. But didn't get done. So I have to come back later to get. This place is a disorganized mess. I stopped on my lunch break to drop off a pair of shoes for shine/repair. There was only one worker present, and he was trying to wait on four customers in line. 2 of the 4 customers did not have their "ticket" so the employee was unable to locate their items. This place is old school, so he was unable to locate their items using their last names or cell phone numbers. After waiting 25 minutes, I eventually gave up and had to take my business elsewhere. Don't waste your time here. There are better options available. read more

These people could not have been nicer but you will understand why I only gave them two stars. I took womens' shoes and was astounded when she said it would be $10 per shoe to stretch. However, I haven't used a shoe store for years and figured that must be the norm. Their policy is that you can return the shoe within 10 days for restretching if it doesn't feel right the first time. It didn't feel right after the first stretch so had them do a second stretch on one of the shoes only. That didn't work so I concluded it might be the shoes. I (belatedly) was told of a shoe repair store much, much closer to my home so I went in there to buy gel inserts. I decided to inquire about what he would charge for stretching. Ans: $3.50 per shoe. They were even so kind as to "rush" fixing a pair for me because I was going out of town. In addition, she made up a custom dye color to match my shoe. I HIGHLY recommend them!! read more

If I would have reviewed this company on Saturday 6-24 when I first visited it would have been five stars. The first man that greeted me I asked to re-heel and clean said do not clean. He was super abrupt and almost rude. Then the woman came, the manager, and said could re-heel and clean them and would almost look like new. She was so pleasant and helpful I basically forgot all about the first person I encountered. I was told my shoes would be ready and cleaned by Tuesday. I went back Thursday and was met by the first gentleman I encountered a few days before. Super rude this time. He got my shoes and opens the bag and shoves the new heel in my face.I say thank you and look at the shoe. It has not been cleaned so I say to him politely it was supposed to be cleaned. He basically cuts me off and says no it's not! We do not clean these type of shoes. I explained to him the woman that helped me said they would and I paid for the cleaning and I had a long conversation with her and said would look like new. He cuts me off again and says NO loudly and rude. I then ask to speak to her. She comes out and remembers me and says they were supposed to be clean and her fault. Which ok, mistakes happen. I tell her he told me both days I was here that they don't clean those shoes. But they do. 1) he was rude and 2) if I never met her I would think don't clean shoes. I would miss out on that and they would lose business. She tells me they are normally closed Thursday and she tells everyone this. Ok. I must have missed that. Then says will clean my shoes. I now will have to go back. I get back to a computer and pull up their hours - it says OPEN THURSDAY until 4 pm???? What? So I feel misinformed again. They seem to do great work, but that man should never speak to customers - he may do a great job in the back but should not be up front. And if they are closed Thur their hours should be posted correctly online. I will get stuff done there but I hope my next experience is better and I get accurate information the first time. read more

My family and I have been loyal customers of D&P for years, and their excellent service has been consistent since day one. I've been living out of state for the past 11 years, and still bring shoes to drop off there during trips back to Cincinnati - I haven't found another repair shop that compares in Chicago or San Francisco, so that's saying a lot! Whether it's a simple polish, new soles, or detailed restitching, you won't find a better option in Cincinnati. I've also taken in a few handbags for cleaning/restitching as well, and they come back looking brand new. And their prices are extremely reasonable for the level of service provided. I highly recommend them to anyone, although they've gotten quite busy so I almost don't want to share the secret! Bonus: they extend a 10% discount if you pay in cash. read more

This is the best leather and shoe repair store in town. I live in Boston but I wait to have my shoes repaired until I come back to town. Tonya is the nicest lady and she truly understands customer service. Their work is superb and I always get complements on how nice my shoes look after I take them to D & P. Service is poor. I've been planning on taking my Mezlan shoes and getting them re-soled for the last 4 months. I've known for years about this shoe repair place that advertised that they offered shoe repair, "while you wait". I couldn't remember where I'd seen that sign but I knew it existed. I was so excited today because I finally had the shoes on that I wanted repaired, I saw their sign, turned around, and went in with the highest of expectations. Only to be treated like I was stupid. The first guy who greeted me sort of acted like I couldn't read, he said the sign in the window means "shine" while you wait". I'm deflated, but feeling dumb for not understanding their sign. Then another guy comes out, who talks like the owner says, "not today," "if I had come by this morning..." he could have done it. (Mind you, it's 2:40 in the afternoon, not 4:55 pm) Now I feel like I didn't mis-read the sign but I missed the small print, that said come by early in the morning, then my shoe can be repaired. After all of these games to make me feel like I did something wrong, I leave the store, dejectedly, as I enter my car, I look back at the store an see a gigantic sign on the Roof of the building that says: "Shoe Repair, while you wait". I'll never be back! False advertising! read more
