We've been to Baker Street several times for lunch, but haven't made it there for dinner... The "ole ball and chain" wanted to go for dinner on a Sunday night. Surprisingly, it was a quiet Sunday night (they're usually much busier at lunch)... Our server (Michelle) was excellent - Friendly, prompt, and attentive. We started with our usual appetizer, the sashimi tuna (as always, it was unreal). The self-titled "house boss" ordered the filet via Oscar style and I ordered the Diane NY strip. Unfortunately, the kitchen misread the order and put a ribeye down on the grill instead of the strip... I was asked if I minded the ribeye instead of the strip, and I said no (I didn't want to be "that" pain the rear customer). I was however a bit disappointed when the ribeye came out as it wasn't seared properly and had no crust at all (Ruth's Chris never would have sent a steak looking like that out to a table). Honestly, it looked like a ribeye from Long Horn or Texas Roadhouse, not something that would come out of the Baker Street kitchen. While the steak was cooked to a medium rare as ordered and it was seasoned well, it didn't look or taste nearly as good as my wife's filet which was outstanding... By and large (minus the order/service hiccup), our meal was still good and Baker Street is still one of Fort Wayne's better restaurants... All-in-all, we do prefer lunch vs. dinner though, based solely on price - For a $300 dinner and a restaurant that fancies itself fine dining, a service miscue like that shouldn't happen in my opinion.

Place is very cozy and quiet. Service is excellent. Food quality is excellent and portions are decent. The house salad is delicious the dressing is made from scratch. Wine variety is excellent from different regions. We had the filet medallions and the sea bass and both were delicious. Our server was on top of everything. Loved it!

    Baker Street Steakhouse brunch celebration

We visited Baker Street on Easter. We were really excited to order off of the Brunch menu. We got to the restaurant to find a an expensive 1 price buffet and announced to our party that the menu brunch has been cancelled. I'm SO disappointed. I hope others who loved the previous brunch menu would request it again!! Please Baker Street bring it back!!

I'll give it 5 Stars. Ribeye was a little under cooked, but I was so hungry and I didn't want to be a douche in front of my customer, I just ate it. Sides were good, seasoned and prepared well. Slightly upscale place, with great service.

We just left another wonderful celebration dinner at BakerStreet. Everyone we encountered were so welcoming, knowledgeable, and kind. Our server took the time to go over the menu with my parents, who had not visited before, and answered their questions. Portions are generous so by the time we finished our appetizers and large house salads we packed up most of our entrees and dessert to go....which will be a bonus for breakfast tomorrow. Sadly, I didn't take photos of everything - I know those can be helpful for future dining patrons. We all left extremely satisfied and stuffed. Thank you to everyone at BakerStreet that made this family dinner one to remember.

My husband and I have been trying to come here (no lie) for 2 years for my birthday. But because my holiday is in February, the weather was never kind. THIS YEAR it was 50 degrees!!! And let me tell you it was worth the wait. First, the decor is industral elegance at its finest. Very chic! Second, our waitress was the absolute bomb! I'm mad that I can't remember her name because she remembered all of ours! LOL She even introduce us to the head chef. Who just happen to a contestant from HELL'S KITCHEN!!!! THIRD BUT NOT LEAST... the FOOD!!! In a word, YUM!!! Every course was perfection! But I will say, the star of the evening, for me, was the calamari!! I will not be waiting for my next birthday to go back!

A couple of my girlfriends and I visited here Saturday night from out of town. The host + waitress were both super friendly and complimented our outfits! Our server brought of pretzel bread with cinnamon butter and it was soooo good 10/10 (I personally don't like texas road house cinnamon butter but theirs was like eating cinnamon toast crunch super yummy!!) I ordered a filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes (i'm picky with mashed potatoes and i ate every last bite I loved these potatoes) and lyonnaise potatoes instead of the asparagus. Additionally I also got a half order of mac and cheese, delicious!! (soup also came with my meal but I gave it to a friend) All the food was super yummy, it was a super fancy restaurant and nicely decorated! Would definitely come back!!! All together my bill was $67 dollars, not bad at all for all the food I got.

Came here on a Friday around 5:30, had reservations for 6:00 but they were able to get us in prior to our reservation. Our server was nice and very knowledgable of the menu. We weren't very hungry so just ordered one meal and split it. Sometimes servers hate this but this server seemed just fine with it. We ordered the porkchop which was cooked very well, and it was huge, so glad we opted to split. The real reason we came though was because of the carrot cake. We were told they have amazing carrot cake and that is right. We also ordered the spice cake which was also pretty darn amazing. It is a little pricey, but I think for Ft. Wayne not having a ton of steak house's it is probably just fine for the area. They do have free parking and plenty of it, and it can hold lots of people so you probably wont have too much trouble making a reservation.

Jacqueline took care of my husband & I for our little lunch date away from our child haha. She took GREAT care of us. Recommendations were on point, her Bloody Mary was delicious, & we laughed with her HARD through the whole meal. We'll absolutely be back soon & request her!

    Crispy Fish Sandwich

Went here for my birthday lunch, and it was good. The waitress said the kitchen makes everything from scratch, which is nice, but I prefer well seasoned food, not lightly seasoned. Also, I ordered soup, and I had to wait 15 minutes for it to come out with my entrée. I'm a slow eater, and we only had an hour lunch break. Deducted a star for the wait on the soup and the lightly seasoned sandwich. Lobster Bisque - Taste was 4/5 stars. Again, needs a bit more seasoning. Unfortunately, the best seasoned food was the potato chips that came with my sandwich, and I ate some chips before tasting the soup. My palate enjoyed the chips, then it made the soup taste bland. A few more bites, then I could taste the soup. Delicate flavor, but again, I wish the soup had more seasoning, and it should have came out way before my entrée. Crispy Fish Sandwich - (Description) Corn meal and potato encrusted fish, baby arugula, provolone, lemon vinaigrette, sliced tomato and onion, jalapeno caper remoulade; served on torta bread - So the sandwich is okay. It's fresh and light, and there's plenty to fill you up. It comes with potato chips and a white sauce. My boyfriend got the cuban sandwich (but I'm allergic to mustard, so no review there), and he also got the same white sauce, so I assume it's for the chips. The sauce is very thin, a little acidic, and not very tasty. Just put more sauce in my sandwich, and skip that white sauce. 4/5 stars. Peanut Butter Cup - You get a free dessert for your birthday. Got this to-go, since we used up our lunch time. It comes kinda messy and in a black container, so the picture wouldn't have been good. Dark chocolate cake with some peanut butter frosting and sprinkled with nuts. This one really lacked on flavor. Cake was flavorless and a bit dry. There needed to be more frosting. 2/5 stars. Service was great, aside from not getting my soup before my entrée. Decor is nice. Some chairs are slippery leather and some have cloth. You'll get a decent meal here, but it won't be mind blowing. Try a different dessert.

Second time here. Grant was over the top! Had oysters, 6 taw, 6 Rockefeller. Pretzel bread was great too! Entrees were delightful. Crab cakes! Steak Diane was one of the best I've had in a while. Lobster tails were terrific. The melted butter stand was cool. Lobster mac-n-cheese was spectacular. Steak egg rolls were tasty. Grant had our drinks and appys right away. Took our dinner order. Came out rather quickly! Lots of dark wood interior. Felt like a country club. Highly recommend. Ask for Grant! He can git er dun!!! Thanks to all!!!

    Short Rib
    Ashley M.

We took a chance walking in at 7pm on a Friday without reservations and were easily able to grab a couple seats at the bar! The bartenders were great, but the star of the show was easily the short rib entree - tender and so flavorful. I swapped the carrots for Brussels sprouts and loved the preparation with bacon jam. Your meal comes with a soup or salad, both great options. The French onion soup had a smoked Gruyère on top (YUM) and I appreciated that the wedge wasn't getting obliterated by a tsunami of blue cheese dressing as is usually the case at other restaurants. Definitely one of my favorite places in Fort Wayne now!

Service was great! We had BBQ shrimp, crab cakes and hush puppies for apps. They were all tasty. Filet mignon was tender and flavorful. That, with the potatoes and greens that came with it, were on the heavy/rich end of the spectrum, so if you don't like that you might want to sub a baked potato. People also liked the salmon with risotto and the cranberry chicken. My husband did not like the seafood pasta. Nice, cozy atmosphere, good service and food.

The restaurant only holds about 50 dinners and the tables are uncomfortably small & close together. It's also located in a neighborhood that might make some people take caution. On the flip side...The Oyster Bar offers 130 years of history in a uniquely older facility that features fresh high quality seafood along with outstanding service. You decide what you value and how you want to spend your dinning dollars. The Oyster Bar is located south of downtown area on Calhoun Street. The vintage building is well signed, lighted and offers an easy-in-easy-out side parking lot. The restaurant only holds about 50 dinners with a limited number of tables and a small bar. I would suggest that you call and make a reservation as The Oyster Bar is a fairly popular place to dine. Inside the building has retained the historic look. The foyer is very small...just like walking into an old house. They feature lots of dark hardwoods and a vintage looking bar. The tables are located very close together as you would expect in a small area. I think the tables are smaller in size as it was difficult to accommodate all the dishes, menus, glasses and cell phones. The white table linens and attractive "sea going" decor help set the experience. The staff on this night was very friendly, professional and helpful. They made us feel welcomed quickly. The waitress was great about removing dishes, refills and stopping to check on us. It's easier when all your tables are close together. Overall the food was excellent. Fresh seafood in Fort Wayne isn't common place. The food creations were delicious & creative without being all that unique. You will find a fairly broad menu to meet most dinner's choices. Here is a run down on the items we ordered: -Calm Chowder: very creamy without being overly rich to taste; moderately thick in consistency with a mild clam flavor; several larger pieces of clam meat; very good taste -Oysters on the half shell: beautiful presentation; oysters were fresh taste; no salty or "sea" tastes/smells; a small dab of sweet cocktail sauce and ground horseradish were nice add; oysters were outstanding!! -Fried Hushpuppies: no corn meal breading here. The outside was lightly fried and slightly oily to taste. The inside was slightly sweet, soft and moist. The chipotle aioli sauce has a very mild southwestern flavor that accented the sweet breading. -Crab Cakes: two fairly large cakes packed with real crab meat; gently fried; the fresh seafood flavors come through nicely; another very good dish! -Seafood Au Gratin: plenty of chunks of scallops and crab buried in a delicious lobster cream sauce and layer of mozzarella cheese. The sauce was creamy and mild without being rich. The seafood pieces retained their original flavor. The cheese topping was nice and gooey which held the seafood & sauce together nicely. Delicious dish!! -Diver Scallops: large and plump scallops cooked perfectly; very tender and moist without a "fishy" taste - nicely done!! I very much enjoyed the dinning experience. I love restaurants that retain and feature an older buildings character. I appreciate high levels of service and outstandingly delicious food. Especially when it comes to fresh seafood!!

Big Eyed Fish on Wells Street - when you have a craving for Fish & Stroh style fish and tarter…read moresauce Yes, I know that I could go to Stroh to get this old time flavor. However, Big Eyed Fish is pretty good fish in its own right, local...and flavored like the taste I remember from the past. We visited the Big Eyed Fish location on Well's street. They have an express shop located on Huegenard Road and another dine in location at Leo Crossing. This location has been in service since 2003. It has a nice diner feel with super friendly service. You can find parking on the street or in the lot behind the store. The inside is rather large and works well for parties up to about 8 diners. There is a small bar and TV's if that is your thing. They also have a big and varied menu including breakfast items. Here is a run down of the food items: -Fried Fish: the white fish fillet is thin and fried with a thin breading. The fish is moist and tender. It will flake apart with a fork or by hand. The breading has a slight amount of seasoning and isn't very oily to taste. It has a taste similar to the Fish & Stroh style if you are familiar with that. The fillets are not very filling. For an extra $3...I went with the all you can eat option. Delicious fish! -Tarter Sauce: I love tarter sauce. In fact I might order fish to go with my tarter sauce - lol. This mayo based sauce is reasonably thick, somewhat sweet and has a hint of pickle flavoring. It's creamy and makes a perfect complement to the fried fish flavor. -Baked Beans: this side really surprised me. The bean is small and contained hamburger pieces. The sauce had a slight BBQ flavor but not enough to classify it as a BBQ baked bean dish. The meat flavor was a nice add to the smooth tomato spiced sauce. Delicious!! -Cole Slaw: I kind of use KFC as the standard for Cole Slaw. This is very similar. The slaw pieces are cut very small with only one kind of slaw. Seemingly no additives - just slaw. The sauce is mayo based, a bit more sweet along with a hint of vinegar. I loved this side too! -Hush Puppies: these balls are pretty small in diameter. The inside is very modista and sweet with that southern style corn bread taste. The outside is thicker, a bit oily to taste and has a mild corn bread taste/texture. These are probably some of the best hush puppies I've had in my southern raised life.
