(Maybe 3.5 Stars) Grocery store: They have pretty much anything in bulk that you would want. They have a large selection of Bob's Mill products. They have a large selection of different types of flours as well. Restaurant: The buffet had fried chicken, meatloaf, stuffed peppers and then sides like corn, mashed potatoes (however they were out at 5:30 replaced with fried potato wedges), green bean casserole, noodles (they looked odd not like normal country style noodles) and other fried items like onion rings. There is a salad bar and it also had a lot of veggie choices no crazy ones just your typical ones. They also have pies (I assume plural but they only had one pumpkin out) and homemade rolls. The fried chicken was pretty good. It was hot, fresh and crispy. Children 10 and under are $5.99 and others at $7.99. You can also buy it piece by piece a leg or thigh was .99 or a breast was $1.49. If you don't want the buffet you can also weigh the plate but I forget the price per pound. You eat on styrofoam plates and with plastic utensils. The tables were dirty and I saw people come and go with no one wiping anything down.

Smaller country store with Amish baked goods and small buffet. Nice little stop to take a break at in a nice little town.

We did the buffet, decent home cooked type food. Not a huge selection but the fried chicken was so good!

Bulk food. A wonderful candy assortment. Baking necessities and more. A deli with a buffet. Delicious cheeses.

While waiting to be seated there was a bunch of stuff to look at like the little shops and bakery, so it didn't even feel like a wait. I tried the buffet and my favorites were definitely the chicken and roast beef. Both were super good and tasted homemade. The whole place just has a really cozy vibe and everyone was really friendly. I can see why people around here love this place!

The non-buffet restaurant was crowded, so we took a seat at the counter. The server was busy managing multiple tables along with the counter, and seldom came by to check on us. She would also forget requests and fail to bring things we requested until we asked twice. I ordered the Dutchman Burger and immediately experienced buyer's regret. The burger tasted off--like it was a day away from his expiration date. The initial taste each bite was okay, but always end with a gamey, off-putting taste. We will definitely be visiting Shipshewana again and will each at DDE. However, I won't get that burger again and hope we don't come at a time when the servers are overworked and distracted.

Ya know what? I don't do buffets very often at all, because I don't really eat a whole lot and…read moresteer clear of carbs, but it was the 4th of July, our power had been down for 2 days, and I wasn't able to cook anything for the 4th of July for the first time in my life, so mom wanted to go out to eat They were super busy, which most people see a busy restaurant, they tend to steer clear, but at buffets, the busier the restaurant, the better and fresher the food because they're constantly changing it out and making new food. It was a typical Chinese buffet, but they had frog legs and crawdads, and a few other off Chinese types of fare. They even had sushi, which absolutely wasn't the best, but it did the trick. After my second plate of food, I noticed they had a Mongolian barbecue! I was SO bummed that I didn't see it right when I walked in, because I would have started with that! I didn't take any pictures of my food, but it was all pretty good. I tried probably 70% of what they were offering. Our server and what Im assuming, owners or family thereof, were sort of different, maybe just busy and in a rush, but didn't seem the most cheery, but then again it's also probably a culture thing. Our server did check on us often though. The guy and woman at the counter where you pay were pretty stern and lacking of personality. Typical Chinese decorum, but they also have handwritten notes on the doors and the counters which was kind of weird. Despite how busy it was, it was still easy to talk and understand, I wasn't overly loud. Solid 4 stars. My mom lives up the road, sonthe next time I'm in town, we'll probably hit this place again! I want that Mongolian barbecue!!! ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149.
