The second visit with Melanie was something more serious and I was nervous about what she had to say.

New England Dermatology either was not aware what post-surgical implications of mohs surgery on the…read morescalp are, or misled me about expectations. An uninformed patient cannot provide proper consent. Had I known that I would be in excruciating pain for more than a week, unable to move facial muscles, chew properly, ambulate, shower without tears, speak without pain, or sleep a night without waking up in pain, I would not have consented to this surgery. Only after a call to the office a week later did I learn that the scalp is complicated and presents these issues. I was never told to expect to miss days from work, and was assured that there are not a lot of nerves on the scalp and that it would not be painful. Even when the scalp was being pulled and stitched, and I directly asked, "this really feels like it will hurt a lot later, what can I expect?" I was assured that it would not. Be your own advocate. Get another opinion.

This happened in April 2026. I only went here because they had a sooner appointment for me. When I…read moregot there 20 mins before, I was not seen at my actual appointment time. I was called in 15 mins after my appointment time. I was taken to a back room and was asked questions about why I was there (when they already know why because when you make an appt, they ask what the reason for the appt is). Then, I waited and a PA came in. When she was talking, I thought she was talking to me, but in reality she was talking to her scribe... who was in another room... like ....? I did not like that at all. That's not a licensed medical professional who should be knowing why I'm even there in the first place and I didn't like that a random person whose face I can't even see knew what my appt was about. Although, the PA was nice. Afterwards, I was given something to read about giving them permission to do "surgery" & they only let you glance at it. I got a biopsy, that was not done by the PA..... it was done by the person who took me to one of the back rooms in the beginning. She asked if I was allergic to epinephrine and/or lidocaine. I said I wouldn't know since I have never had any surgeries or biopsies before. She still did the biopsy and sent me on my way without having me wait for 15 mins to see if I'm allergic to it or not, which thankfully, I'm not. She didn't stitch up the biopsy. She told me it would close up in 1-2 weeks and that I had to change the bandage once a day until it closes. Well, guess what? It did not close in the timeframe she said. I was so mad. It closed up 2 months later, June 2026. Yes, I was changing the bandage everyday for 2 months.. which was annoying. I ended up going to Demo's Dermatology (much better by the way!) that same month, June 2026, and the PA there was shocked and concerned as to why my wound from 2 months ago was still not closed. She did say that it was closing well and she prescribed me something for the wound & also Retin-A for my face (which is what I really wanted so I'm glad), meanwhile this place didn't even prescribe me anything. This place also charges extra for a skin exam which I thought was weird because at demo's dermatology it's part of your appointment and they don't charge you extra. Also, for some weird reason, this place didn't let me bring in my water bottle when I was taken to the back rooms... she made me leave it with one of the front desk employees, which I'm sure isn't part of their job description to be babysitting some patient's water bottle. I don't know why they didn't let me bring my water bottle in. This place charges way too much for everything. The prices are exaggerated. They charge way too much for mole removals when you can go ask around at other dermatology offices. Like, demo's dermatology only charges $250 per each mole that you want removed. All in all, I don't recommend this place. It seems like a mega corporate company. This was my experience, yours could be different than mine. It's either a hit or miss for others. It was a miss for me.

She actually took her time to answer any questions I had and even went over each concern I had. I wanted Retin-A and she prescribed it to me which I thought was amazing because all the places I have seen in Massachusetts just brush me off and don't prescribe me what I want. I did like how the skin exam is part of the appointment so I didn't even need to pay extra like at New England Dermatology & Laser Center. If you decide to get any mole removals here, it's $250 per each mole. At New England Dermatology & Laser Center, they charge way too much for being an established patient, mole removals, etc. You are better off at going to Demo's Dermatology. My before-and-after photos, taken day before treatment and nine weeks later, show the flatness in my cheeks remains and my nasolabial folds are unchanged. From day one, I voiced my dissatisfaction and was told to "wait it out," and when nothing improved, the owner only offered a discounted rate instead of correcting the results. I even consulted with an injector at a medspa I previously worked at, who said it appeared the area hadn't been properly treated, possibly to encourage me to spend more money. I wasn't looking for a refund, just proper results. Unfortunately, I left feeling dismissed and would not recommend Blush MedSpa.

They administered fillers to my face, but I was not satisfied with the results. One side of my face appeared overfilled, while the other side looked flat. When I tried to discuss this with the owner, she dismissed my concerns and said she did not see anything wrong. However, it was quite evident to me that my face was uneven. Unfortunately, she was unwilling to address or correct the problem caused by the injector. This was very upsetting for me, and because of this, I cannot recommend Blush Med Spa to others.
