She was refused service for arriving TWO minutes past "cut-off" time, despite having attempted to call and notify the office multiple times that she would be late due to unexpected construction/traffic (she was only able to leave a message, which they ignored). The receptionist and head nurse were rude and even laughed at my mother's situation. The other two receptionists were blithely talking on what appeared to be personal calls. There was only one family in the waiting room. DO NOT see this practice if you are looking for a professional, caring medical staff. My mother has lived in San Antonio for 31 years and has never experienced this kind of a horrific experience. I am praying that she gets the medical help she needs, since now she can't find anybody who will see her before the New Year. What a travesty and a disgrace. Beware.

My husband and I came in for a scheduled appointment with his primary care provider following a…read morerecent accident. He had already been treated in the hospital and was specifically instructed to follow up with his PCP, and he was also due for his annual visit. Unfortunately, we were met with extremely poor customer service at the front desk. The receptionist repeatedly stated that the clinic 'doesn't treat accidents,' despite us clearly explaining multiple times that he was not seeking accident treatment, but rather a hospital discharge follow-up and routine care. We even provided hospital documentation showing he had already been treated, yet there was little effort or willingness to review or upload the paperwork into his chart. The lack of listening, understanding, and basic professionalism was very concerning. As a nurse, I found this experience especially frustrating and disappointing. Access to primary care--especially for appropriate follow-up--should not be this difficult. After reading similar experiences from other patients, I feel confident that changing providers is the safest and most appropriate decision for us. Due to the nature of this encounter, I also intend to report this experience and provide appropriate documentation to outside agencies to ensure this issue is addressed and does not continue to affect other patients. You never know the circumstances or backgrounds of the patients and families you are interacting with--compassion, professionalism, and proper communication are essential in healthcare.

Post exertional mailaise is one of the significant aspects of it. This is very common currently with Long Covid vistims. What Dr Finnie encountered was post exertinal malaise. A deep sleepiness. When I came to he was sitting next to me. I did not know him. He very gently and kindly connected with me as a Knight. Slightly later he suggested that i visit his office and that he is a physician. I did. And I miss him as I now live in Northern California all due to the necessity of requiring a microdisectmy of C3 performed by Grant Shifflett MD Newport Beack neurosurgeon. Subsequently all of my symtoms have worsened. No i say something about his practice. A finer staff cannot be found, maybe equal but among the best of the best. Dr. Finnie is the most profoundly brilliant Primary Physicians i have ever had the priveledge of having him as my PC. He knew all the limits of PC and he most importantly knows the best qualified Specialists available. And most important he actually cares about his patients and their well being. That's rare these days. Also candor is rare and that's extremely important. Patients need truth and communicated in a very apporiate manner and timing. Not all patients are the same. Granted I don't actually get seen by Dr. Paley, but nowadays thats how most practices are you only see the nurse practitioner unless you specifiy that you want to see the Dr. But the nurse practitioner wendy is just as good. She is getting my health back on track since I've been coming here and she genuinely cares for her patients. The office staff is always courteous and helpful everytime I call or need to reschudle, or if I owe a balance they are very easy to work with. If you love dogs, so does the staff lol. It's always nice to see the Dr's golden retriever and poodle walking around the office and come up to you to get some loving. I definitely recommend coming here for you primary care.

Upon arrival I was greeted and handed the patient paperwork in a prompt manner. The wait was about 30 minutes. So not terrible, and the waiting area had a beautiful big fish tank and peaceful feel to the atmosphere. The lady who did my blood work was a pro for sure. I have very small veins, and I'm always scared I'm gonna get poked up and leave looking like a Michael Myers victim. But she did it on the first try and with very little pain. Anytime I had questions about procedures I was given detailed answers and handed a booklet with even more info as well. Dr. Coutinho used to be great but if you go here now odds are you will just see one of his PAs rather than the Dr. himself. I have nothing against PAs but the care here is simply not up to standard.

The only negative is the appointment availability, if I have something wrong with me my appointments are always next day or within a week. However, if I call to get a physical wellness exam my appointment gets pushed out 4-6 months. It makes me sad because I like to keep tabs on my health every year but having to book so far in advance seems a bit extreme especially since my schedule or circumstances may change during the window that I am waiting. I don't have any chronic illnesses or huge health concerns but diabetes, cancer and high blood pressure run in my family and I would rather be proactive now that I do not have issues in hopes that my preventative measures will allow me to catch an illness earlier rather than later. I do hope they start allowing more flexibility for physical exam appointments. It would be nice if there was a balance of sick visits and physical exam visits available. Also, the front desk staff really needs to work on being more friendly.. I feel that they are always less than eager to help and when you call treat you as if you are a nuisance.
