We stopped by on a whim, and Lauren the new owner was so nice to help us even though it was a little past closing time. Note: the hours might not be updated, so best bet is to call first. We needed some snacks and cbd treats for our husky during our trip, and luckily this was not far from our stay. This is a great little shop with just about anything you can think of for your pet-- for cats, dogs, bunnies, even birds(!). Additionally, there are irresistibly cute accessories found throughout the store. Mixed-and-matched a goodie bag of treats that appeared fresh and made in-house and at a great price! Confirmed that our pup loved the chicken jerky and salmon bites! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here, and I'm sure locals and visitors alike will enjoy this little stop. I have picked up cat food and other cat gear. I've only visited twice. However both times I met very friendly workers. I was pleased with the cost. I'm very happy to have this as a resource. We are new to running springs. They do have loose dogs. They are very friendly though. read more

This place has a decently large selection of high quality pet food and treats (none of that cheap food you see at grocery stores), and their prices are very fair for both the convenience and quality. They can also happily special order food for you and also deliver if you are unable to make it out due to road conditions (snow, rain etc). Also the girl with the blue hair that works there is not only HOT as Hell but extremely courteous and bubbly! A nice change of pace from some of the grumps up in big bear! For a local shop in a small town this place rocks. Can you get everything that Petco has? Thankfully no. This is a small town shop that caters to local pet owners and those like me that currently have no pets but like to feed the local wildlife. Steve has offered to deliver to my house. The range of items is impressive for a town like our little Mayberry. Everyone that works there is knowledgeable and uber friendly. The shop birds are awesome. Great story behind the first shop bird. Highly recommend this place. Glad to see it has stayed in business. In this economy it is not easy to do in a small town. read more

Very nice man working in the store his name is Mike, Mike was also informative, as we are newbies in the area, he was up on all the places to go hiking and he also is for hire for day or days hikes with Llamas. Nice place check it out.. I bought a bird feeder some seed and some non salted nuts to try and find something to feed. This store has a little of everything. It was nice to have a place to go and find animal supplies. Oh and there was a big bird who loved to have his head scratched. read more

We've been locals of Running Springs for over 16 years and have NEVER experienced such horrible customer service for an overpriced product that we could have gotten anywhere else for $10.00. My wife went into this shop to buy a sweater for my dog who was getting groomed at the local groomer & took it back to the groomer to have it put on our dog when she was done. When my wife went to pick up our dog, the groomer informed her that the sweater she got for our dog was too small. My wife then went back to Hilltop Pet Supplies to EXCHANGE the sweater for a different size. The owner rudely told her that she needed the hanger and the tags for just an exchange, and to go back to the groomer for the hanger and tags even though she had the receipt in hand. On top of that, my wife felt the owner was being hypocritical towards her since she had told my wife that an XL sweater she had been interested in was the only one she had that was hanging on a baby hanger (not intended for dog clothing) with NO tags. It was a series of unnecessary back and forth trips and my wife felt so inconvenienced that she just got her money back. It was my wife's first time in 16 years that she's ever been to this pet supply store and most certainly will be the LAST. Terrible service from a rude and greedy owner. read more

At first I was very hesitant to go into a pet store, but once we went inside, we talked to two men that were more than friendly about the weather, the spots of town we should check out, and the owner talked of how "there's too many pets in the world" and he doesn't want to sell them. He rehabilitates them, specifically birds. WOW. I am so happy I ran into this store after eating at Old Country Coffee Shop. Thank you gentlemen for your hospitality!! If you want really cool chewies for your pups or need bird seed this is the place. Pig snouts, turkey & chicken feet, huge pig ears, bully bones, etc...it's like a candy store for your pet. We love this shop and the owner is knowledgable of not only all things pets, but also of the local area and recreational opportunities that are available here. Whenever we have had a question about our pets, he (Steve) has been our go to guy! He has even delivered alfalfa to our propery. He has a wide array of product that are decently priced, and if he doesn't have what you need, he will get it for you.
