This groomer is amazing! Communication was fast, there were lots of time options, and she was just a pleasure to work with in general. Brought our kitty in for a nail trim and she just picked him up and started clipping. I was able to be across from him the whole time and he behaved better than he ever has. Aug 30 I decided to wait to post my review to allow time for the owners to come forward. I feel there has been ample time now for that to have happened. Since they seem to not care for the incident that took place on August 30th or to contact me I've decided it's best to warn others and share my experience with their grooming. I had taken my dog two other times. First time was great! Great haircut! Great experience. The second time the face was not cut as I had asked but didn't say anything. The third time I pull up into the parking lot that was completely filled with parked cars. As I begin to back out I see the door to grooming open and my dog with her ears back and tail between her legs running for her life. I immediately through my car into park and retrieved my dog. What would've happened if I hadn't been there in that exact moment? I was livid! I couldn't believe in a blink my dog could've been hit by a car or stolen. This was unacceptable! The groomer tossed the leash and I quote, "my bad" and walked away. No explanation of what happened or led to my dog running for its life through the parking lot. I immediately went to talk to someone and to pay. I ended up not paying for the grooming which is reasonable considering the circumstances. Not only was my dog loose her face wasn't evenly cut. I had to come home and fix her face so it was even. I have waited patiently for the owners to contact me to explain for what led up to this mishandling of my dog and the precautions now in place so it will never happen again. I have heard nothing which for me implies they lack common sense. Why risk a bad review? This is a warning for pet owners who choose to trust them with the care of your pet, don't! I was extremely lucky to be at the right place at the right time. I do not recommend this company or their grooming services. When a small company can't have more empathy or take responsibility for their mistakes I cannot or will not support and hope others who read this feel the same way. It only took a phone call to me to apologize and an explanation but this companies owners seem to feel different. If you choose to risk it and go with them, I warned you and I hope you're as lucky as I was to be in the right place at the right moment. I almost lost my dog that day due to their negligence and not one "damn"was given that day or since. Needless to say I will never feel safe knowing my dog is in their care so we will never be back! read more

Great experience. Very friendly gentleman helped us check in and feel comfortable the groomer was amazing and very caring and thoughtful. This was the first time taking my dog to a groomer as he has sensory issues with noise and I was assured he would be in good hands. He was! Tom & Hound is great. Its really after the second time that feeling gets locked in. The groomer there takes extra time to calm a nervous dog, and I've seen how long that can take. The owners remember your name and your pet. They have a lot patience towards these little things that i, myself, would consider to be stressful, yet they always make time to care. This one time, when i was in the self-wash station, this poodle was being such a menace and kept jumping off the table causing it to crash down to the floor multiple times. Not a single complaint from that groomer, in fact, she was completely friendly with that dog the entire time i was in there. Honestly, this is a small team juggling a lot and its something i see and appreciate. Shampoo smells great. I like their inventory a lot. I wouldn't go to any other grooming shop. I want to update my terrible review in regards to a simple phone call. I'm SO HAPPY I let my stubbornness go and walk in the doors as they invited me to do in my bad review. Let me tell you they did MORE than welcome me. I didn't tell them who I was because I really wanted them to welcome me LOL... Susan spent probably an HOUR with me with her CUTE little baby right on her hip he loved the conversation seriously . I asked her SOOOO many questions as I was so new to all the new dry and raw foods offered. I have 100 pound golden so I obviously wanted a premium dog food. She's the ONLY person in the entire 8 1/2 years of my goldens life that listened to his troubles and gave me her HIGHLY educated advice as to why my dog isn't losing weight. I CANNOT BELIEVE MY EYES! In a WEEK my hound is different. I'm not saying his skinny by any means BUT he LOVES his food. I'll follow back up with you all to keep you posted. We have been coming here for a very long time for delicious, high quality treats for our puppy Kuma. We recently had him groomed here and Anais did an amazing job. It was Kuma's first visit to any groomer and Anais was very friendly and made him feel comfortable on his first visit. The appointment time was spot on and the whole process did not take long. Gave us time to have a quick date in downtown Redlands. Kuma looked amazing when we picked him up. His coat was shinier than we've ever seen and super soft. Could not be happier! Great service, but not great supplies for the self wash dog station. I go to a spot in Fullerton usually and they charge you the same price and great products and brushes. I disliked that they give watered down shampoo and conditioner mix... and slow dryers that don't have much power. I also disliked that they don't offer aprons here as Sham Paws would. Also they need to update their location on google maps and at least put some signs in the back as to where it's located. read more

Great grooming experience! My small dog was in for grooming recently, it went well. He had been to Petsmart before, which was also good, but he seemed more stressed due to more dogs in the environment at Petsmart. Tom & Hound is a great alternative if you want a more individual experience for your dog. Our dog was the only dog at the time, which they do intentionally. They use a play pen if needed, vs. stacked crates at big box stores. VERY clean environment, you can see the grooming area easily. Jade, the groomer, was wonderful! I was even a few mins late, accidentally parked in the back lol, but everyone was helpful and nice. Gotta come back for some toys or treats for sure. Thanks guys read more

These are new owners and are very friendly. The store hasn't changed much except I see the pet clothes are now toward back of store in a room. I came in to use the self service dog wash and it was great! I gave up on the ones at petco because there was always something broken and the blow driers were awful. This place has high quality tubs and everything about it was easy to use and the blow driers worked so good! The only thing you have to bring yourself is a brush. Definitely will be back. read more

This was my first time coming here after I was desperately looking for another place that has self serve dog washes since the one at Petco sucks. The guy at the cashier was friendly, charged me the same amount that Petco charges, took me into a room with two stations, one seemed like it was for medium dogs and the other was for big dogs. I have a huge Rottweiler/husky mix with thick, dense fur. The water pressure was great, temperature of the water is adjustable, gives you a big bottle of shampoo solution, theres leashes attached to the station that you can move around and many CLEAN full sized towels to dry your dog. The blow dryer is super strong, I have never used anything that dried my doggo up that fast, super powerful. This is my new spot to shower my pup :) read more

The owners of this store are very knowledgeable when it comes to nutrition questions about what might be great to feed your dogs. They take their time and allow you to ask questions and provide helpful answers. They carry many healthy brands of dog and cat foods, hence the cute name. They also have healthy supplements, treats, cute toys, and a wide variety of accessories. They also have a very down to earth environment and great customer service. Very disappointed in staff. I'm hoping this problem gets resolved soon, cause reading the other reviews left behind it looks like nothing changed. I was so excited to check out Tom and hound it was my first time in, I was hoping for a great experience but I was nothing more then wrong not sure if it was racially motivated but it sure did feel like it. Me and my partner were being stared down before even parking. (It was really creepy) As soon as we walked in the store thought the guy that was staring at us would welcome us in because I mean he did just watch us pull into their parking lot but no lol, (talk about bad customer service). The whole time we were in there I felt like he was looking over my shoulder, every couple seconds he would pop up to "come check on us" which I did find pretty weird just cause it was way more then usual but I still didn't think nothing of it till I released it was every time I picked something up now so now it felt more personal. This made my shopping experience so uncomfortable I just left like I had eyes on me the whole time, like if he was just waiting for me to leave or like I was being rushed. My final straw was when he came back for the last time, to tell me and my partner that we were stinky up the whole store!! (I was in disbelief) I have not once ever been told that! It was so respectful. If someone went in there and they smelled armpits or ass they wouldn't have said anything but because he seen me hit my wax pin before getting out the car he said I smell like marijuana. Right then and there I decided not to support or purchase anything from them because now I knew I wasn't crazy! I was actually really disappointed because I wanted to get something for my puppy but I wasn't going to buy anything after I left like I been disrespected before I even stepped foot in the door. I'm not mad though cause I was going to spend $30 on a dog bikini (which that's ridiculous that's how much I pay for mine) but since i decided to leave after that incident i realized I could of got one really anywhere, I just wanted to support small local businesses. On that note you can find cute and affordable ones on Amazon, SHEIN and if you wanted to still support small businesses Etsy Sells some. (I know their all website so it kinda sucks cause all us dog parents like to see everything in person and actually shop lol) apart from that, he saved me $30 and future money I could of spend there so thanks I guess. Worst customer service! I try to support local business but the new owners are very rude and unprofessional! I took my dog to their new groomer and had a conference call at the time they called to say he was ready, 30 minutes later the owner called screaming at me that my dog had been there over an hour and was totally rude saying this was not how they do business and they would charge me a day care fee. None of this was explained at the time I made the appointment and I do not necessarily have a problem with the policy just how it was handled. read more

I went in today with my little puppy & mom. We met the kindest woman (possibly the owner?). She recommended a teething toy for my little dachshund puppy and I kid you not- it's my puppy's new favorite toy. He started playing with it immediately in the car & has not stopped. It was a little set of keys & I would have probably overlooked them had she not recommended it. I am appalled with the customer service at this establishment. The new owners are incredibly rude to their customers and groomers. They have had 3 different groomers in the past 18 months and I'm starting to realize it must be the new owners and not the groomers they hire who are the problem. Every time I call to schedule a grooming appointment, they tell me that "their groomer is on leave", but they'll have someone soon. This was in April, and I called today and still the same excuse. Additionally, there aren't prices on most of their inventory, but I'm guessing it's because everything is so overpriced because they would probably scare their customers away if they had prices on their dog and cat food. And it's not just the dog and cat food that's overpriced. When compared to the other pet stores in Redlands like Petco, Paws, or PetSmart, these guys up charge on all products...meaning you can go to a different store and buy the same bag of food for half the price. I am astonished that this place is still in business and won't be surprised if they shut down or sell by the end of the year. read more

This place is truly a gem!!! Moved back awhile ago and had the hardest time finding a place that would take new clients. I walked in and was pleasantly greeted by the owners that are very knowledgeable about the products they carry and have a way of making you feel like you are family. I love that they only take 1 dig at a time for grooming as well. My dog loves the groomer and any time I have questions about product they have an answer that helps me make the right decision for my dog. The place is well organized and extremely clean!
