I have never been to a mechanic and felt more respected. I worked with Brad who was working so hard to figure out the issue with my car. I called with the need for a quick fix since I had a trip planned and needed my car. They got me in quick (they're by appointment only) and had a same day fix for me. Brad explained everything out to me, kept me updated on the entire process, and I never once felt uncomfortable like I have at dealerships and mechanics in the past. Hillview Automotive is a very honest and reputable shop. We had an issue with a Ford Taurus fuel pump, and they were able to fix it. Had an issue come up on that part later, when the driver was out of town, and had to have it repaired at another shop in another city. Unsure if the issue was due to Hillview's work, a faulty part, or bad luck; but they made it right and reimbursed us for the second round of repairs. I was in a jamb and walked in asking for assistance. The owner greeted me and stopped what he was doing to discuss my situation. I needed a cutting tool to remove a broken lock at my boat storage. He put a new disk and fully charged battery on his cutter for me. He accepted my ID as deposit and loaned me his equipment to use. Needless to say. I was very grateful and impressed He was so helpful and trusting. He showed caring and empathy that is rare. He's a young business owner and the shop and office was well kept. These people are good folks , in the last month i changed out all sorts of things ,camshaft sensor , crankcase sensor , fuel pump and aternator i couldn't figure out the problem with my 2007 dodge ram pick up ..took it to hill view at canyon lake , they hooked up to their diagnostic machine found the problem fixed it all in the same day and for a very reasonable price, their honesty and fast friendly service are awesome ..thanks guys all my family and friends will hear about you read more

AVOID THIS PLACE! First, they ordered the wrong part. Then while waiting for new part to come in, they took apart my front end and tried to weld the car back together. We were on vacation and had to get them to give us our car back so we could leave our hotel, even though it was never repaired. The new place that actually repaired my car found problems they missed plus had to repair whatever they were welding. We wanted to give biz to a small mom/pop shop, but these people are grossly incompetent, and we felt totally scammed. read more

Took my girlfriends 94 F150 in for an emergency water pump. Went in running fine came out blowing black smoke, low on coolant. It was great that they took it in. But for $400.00, I guess Kirby ( Hillside )would have done a better job, and not throw the "by appointment only" back at us. read more

I highly do NOT recommend. I took in my Toyota Prius and did not get it back until 2 weeks later. Customer service was very disappointing as I called them multiple times to see what the issues were and would never hear back for any updates. Ultimately, the codes on my car were still showing and they told me "not to worry, and ignore". I later took my car to the Toyota dealership and they told me Hillview Automotive had installed parts in my car in the WRONG position and had to correct their mistakes and I ended up paying double of what it costed to fix my car. This shop is usually closed on the weekends. I noticed the garage door opened and pulled over. I spoke to the owner Ruben and asked if he would work on my truck. I was nervous driving back to Houston because of the issues i was having with my truck. He took it in and had it ready for me. The prices are reasonable too! I was heading out of town to when I heard my truck making a grinding sound about the time I got to New Braunfels. I pulled over and called Ruben on a Sunday and he sent a wrecker to get me and met me at his shop. I contacted Hillside auto, to have rear axle bearings and seals removed and the new bearings and seals, that I have reinstalled on the same axles, and was refused. he told me that they Do Not install customers parts.
